This font is based on an alphabet published by Luca Pacioli in his 1509 mathematical treatise De divina proportione. In this book, Pacioli describes how to build the Roman alphabet geometrically using lines, squares and circles. Pacioli was not the first or the last man in his era to describe the building of letters mathematically. Felice Feliciano did this before Pacioli, and Albrecht Dürer further developed these forms years after. According to Pacioli, the thick strokes should be 1/9th of the height, and the thin strokes should have 1/2 the weight of the thick strokes. I felt that this beautiful alphabet needed to be restored to its full geometric glory and set out to construct an accurate replica using Pacioli's instructions. Included in the font you'll find the letters that have the grid overlay and also the letters without the grid. The letters J, W, U, and Z were not included in the book, so I have created my own versions of these characters that fit into Pacioli's grid. Pacioli shows two different Os in the book, so I have included the second O as well as a second J, Q, and Z as OpenType stylistic alternates. Also included in the font are border patterns and a fleuron taken from the cover of the book.

The Neustadt font family was originally designed as a corporate font for Sport 2000, one of the leading buying groups in the European Sport Retail Industry. Cassandra Plus is my revised version of Cassandra, it can now be used all over Europe except Greece and Russia. I changed the weights a bit to make them more distinct. The Font has two widths of letters, wide Capitals on the (shift) uppercase-keys and narrow ones on the (no shift) lowercase-keys. You can match them as you like, but you should avoid having the same letter in one word in two different widths. A friend once asked, was I trying to design a font that looked sort of �Korean?� I said no, I was trying to mess up the Latin alphabet. So, here it is: After 5, a bold, upright condensed slab-serif display typeface with a mixed-up attitude. Complete with bold roman and matching italics. I have a notation that the summer of 1994, when I worked with Kalix, was a warm one. I had no special typeface in mind when drawing the characters of Kalix, but many typefaces contributed to it, e.g. my own Omnibus from which I borrowed the looks of the smal case g. I think it is a lovely typeface whose use is mainly for books and magazines. Kalix is the name of a northern Swedish town situated along a river called Kalixälven. Its name is of sami origin, *káles, meaning cold. There comes the connection to the warm summer of 1994! But even the Latin word for chalice, calix, has something to do with my choice of name. Kalix was released in 1994.

SPQR Senatus Populusque Romanus or The Senate and People of Rome as quoted by the likes of Marcus Tullius Cicero or Tully to his friends and Titus Livius otherwise known as Livy. SPQR appeared on battle standards carried by Roman troops and no doubt can still be seen chiseled into stone facades across the old empire of the ancient Romans. This evokes visions of stonemasons delicately inscribing messages that were meant to endure, one which can still be seen on the Trajan column circa 114AD. Emporia Roman is a modern display font that was inspired by the craft of those ancient artisans, with an added lowercase set, some flourished alternates, an oldstyle set of figures and now with a matching Italic.

Kowalski2 is a decorative, serif, hand-drawn font. It can be used for invitations, greeting cards, posters, advertising, weddings, books, menus etc. The inspiration came from the beautiful font Desire designed by Charles Borges de Oliveira. Kowalski2 Pro is the most complete style, it contains all the alternates and ligatures. To get the alternate glyph just add "+“, ”=" or "*" before the letter in any OpenType savvy application or manually select the characters from Glyph Palette. Kowalski2 Basic has the basic character set with 345 glyphs and no alternates. Kowalski2 A, Kowalski2 B and Kowalski2 C have less glyphs than the Pro one, they only contain some selected alternates and ligatures. African fonts are characterised by design considerations that differ from those of Europe and the Americas. At one extreme we have a relaxed and casual approach to life that values the quality of each moment in life far more than people do in the west. In this approach each element of the font, while being part of a community, nevertheless stands on its own and has its own "character". An African font that characterises this approach is Ubuvila (the word means relaxedness or relaxation in Zulu). There is no strict adherence to a design format in Ubuvila nor are the characters constrained by resting on the same baseline. They wander up and down in the sentence and find a comfortable resting place.

Martin Crantz (or sometimes Krantz) of the three, including Ulrich Gering and Michael Friburger, that set up a press at the Sorbonne in 1470 was likely the fellow who had the technical know how how to cast the type itself, hence the name of this new face that is based on his work. This font has been expanded to meet the demands of modern day use but it also contains a number of specialized glyphs that allow for the recreation of text in the manner of his day with such characters as the -rum abbreviation and other handy Renaissance oddities. Since this face was designed prior to 1501 there is no italic variant in keeping with the spirit of historical accuracy.
