Emporia JNL is a wonderfully decorative and vintage wood type named for a city in Kansas, and modeled from just a dozen images of individual type blocks spotted for auction online. The release of this typeface is also a milestone for Jeff Levine Fonts. The foundry started in January, 2006 with only ten releases, and has now grown to be an impressive library of unique lettering designs from the past. The collection also contains numerous original and novelty creations. Emporia JNL is proudly released as the 500th font design to join this extensive library.

Günther Zainer, (or Zeyner or Zeiner), was the first printer to operate in the city of Augsburg. He was active from 1468 to his death in 1478. In that single decade he was responsible for printing 80 works. Most of these editions were for the clergy but he also printed the first Calendar and large-scale illustrated book intended for the wider public. This font is based on one of his more interesting and peculiar fonts. And it has been enlarged to include over a 1,000 defined glyphs for modern use and also for historical purposes many glyphs recommended by the Medieval Unicode Font Initiative organization have also been included.

Empresario Stephen F. Austin (1793-1836) is considered by many the “Father of Texas” for leading the first Anglo-American colony into the then-Mexican territory back in the 1820s. A few years later, while on a diplomatic mission to Mexico City, Austin was arrested on suspicion of plotting Texas independence and imprisoned for virtually all of 1834. During this time he kept a secret diary of his thoughts and musings—much of it written in Spanish. Austin Pen is my interpretation of Austin’s scribblings in this miniature prison journal (now in the collection of the wonderful Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, in the Texas city that bears his name). The little leather-bound book is filled with notes in ink and pencil—some of the faded penciled pages traced in ink years later by Austin’s nephew Moses Bryan. A genuine replication of 19th century cursive, Austin Pen has two styles: a fine regular weight, along with a bold style that replicates passages written with an over-inked pen. Each is legible and evocative of commonplace American penmanship of two centuries ago.

For this Byzantine Empire calligraphy font, I had to work for 2 weeks and 3-4 hours a day and search the internet. It made me very tired, but I finally finished it, and it was good. This font can use both latin keyboard and greek keyboard. I also added Greek unicode characters. I will adapt this font to the latin alphabet, I will make the full character set font, this will take less time. I wish you good work.

Raeling is a display font inspired by a visit to Luxembourg, capturing shadows falling intricately from park railings appearing as broken-script lettering. Calligraphica was designed because there are very few inline fonts, and even fewer inline calligraphic fonts. The original forms were written with a split pen in a single stroke. The minuscules have a rougher look and the capitals have a smoother shape to imitate hand written calligraphy with more formal, decorative initial caps. The Calligraphica family contains 6 fonts: Calligraphica Regular and Italic are the regular upright roman true italic version of the font. The ascenders on this font are a bit higher than the capital letters--this is standard for most fonts. Calligraphica LX Regular and Italic are similar to the first 2 fonts except their ascenders are longer and reach high above the capital letters--giving these fonts a taller appearance. Calligraphica SX Regular and Italic are similar to the first 2 fonts except their ascenders are shorter and are the same height as the capital letters--giving these fonts a shorter appearance.

OMG! I never thought I'd finish this font! Actually, the idea came to me in the late 1990-ies, but the sketches lied at the bottom of the "fonts I will complete one day In the future" pile ... also called "fonts I most likely won't complete...EVER" pile! :) Anyway, I started up with letters for both upper and lowercase, no numbers or punctuation. I figured if people ever purchased this font, all they would need were upper- or lowercase letters. But the rest of the glyphs seemed to miss out, so I made the numbers and some punctuation. But I still found the font incomplete...therefore I redid all the punctuation (from "standard" punctuation to "picturish" punctuation) and added two additional sets of letters. Meaning that there is 4 different versions of letters to choose from: 2 different lowercase, and 2 different lowercase. I had a lot of fun drawing this font, and some fun doing the detective work finding out how the MANY lettershapes should look! I hop you too have fun using this font! :)

Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital in the foothills of the Himalayas, is not like any other city.
