After previously collaborating on the bestselling Distillery Set, Carolina Marando and Alejandro got together once again to create this Scrapbooker Set, a new series of fonts that multiply the possibilities. Precious Sans Two is a complete reworking of the 2002 design which was only ever available in PostScript format. Over a decade later G-Type’s Nick Cooke decided to re-appraise the typeface, scrutinise the old letterforms and overhaul the family. Make no mistake though, Precious Sans Two is no rudimentary re-release; nearly every character has been redrawn, re-proportioned, respaced and improved. Precious Sans Two is now in cross-platform compatible OpenType format with extended Latin language support for Western & Central Europe, the Baltics & Turkey. The original quirkier glyphs (f, g, I) have been retained as an OT style set feature and the typeface now contains small caps and an extensive set of discretionary ligatures as well as both proportional & tabular figures. A romantic comedy titling? Cosmetics products? Pretty much anywhere! Jojo takes its name from a Beatles song about getting back to where we once belonged. It also takes most of its shapes from vintage photo-setting days, when an art nouveau typeface called Spring, by B. Jacquet, was putting happy times back where they belonged, which was everywhere. The original photo-setting face came in just 26 letters and 10 numerals. This digital retooling optimizes the original forms and expands on them, for a full character set of over 430 glyphs, including ligatures and stylistic alternates, and support for the majority of Latin languages.

Delphi grew from a logotype Lily Feinberg produced using Greek-column-inspired letterforms. As that concept expanded to include more and more letters, the typeface had its beginnings. Intertwined, kinetic, and deliberate, Delphi carves itself onto the page and screen, encouraging variation and experimentation. The letterforms’ unique construction and predispostion for experimentation inspired two varying sets: Delphi Dio, comprised of two-line strokes, and Delphi Tria, built of both 2- and 3-line strokes. With a design as elaborate, yet tightly tuned as this, the desire to add more and more was irresistible—you'll see a number of stylistic, swash, and titling alternates (and even more hidden away in further stylistic sets). Because Dio and Tria could only hold so much, alternate cuts were produced to better organize your options: the Delphi Alt fonts feature certain letter styles and stylistic alternate sets distinct from those in Delphi. Delphi’s sophisticated, striking letterforms make it an ideal display face for use at large sizes, and with so many unique details and alternate letterforms, it’s simply fun to use.

The Salden fonts are our tribute to the man who was dubbed the face of the Dutch book, and whose work is considered essential in 20th century Dutch design history. Helmut Salden’s exquisite book cover designs were the gold standard in the Netherlands for more than four decades. His influence over Dutch lettering artists and book designers ranges far and wide, and his work continues to be used commercially and exhibited to this very day. At the root of Salden’s design work was a unique eye for counter space and incredible lettering skills that never failed to awe, regardless of category or genre. This made our attention to his lettering all the more focused within our appreciation to his overall aesthetic. Though Salden never designed alphabets to be turned into typefaces (he drew sets of letters which he sometimes recycled and modified to fit various projects), we thought there was enough there to deduce what a few different typefaces by Salden would have looked like. The man was prolific, so there were certainly enough forms to guide us, and enough variation in style to push our excitement even further. And so we contacted the right people, obtained access to the relevant material, and had a lot of fun from there. This set covers the gamut of Salden’s lettering talents. Included are his famous caps, his untamed, chunky flare sans serif in two widths, his unique Roman letters and an italic companion and, most recognizable of all, his one-of-a-kind scripty upright italic lowercase shapes, which he used alongside Roman caps drawn specifically for that kind of combination titling. All the fonts in this set include Pan-European glyph sets. They’re also loaded with extras. Salden Roman (908 glyphs) and Salden Italic (976 glyphs) each come with built-in small caps (and caps-to-small-caps), quite a few ligatures, and two different sets of alternates. Salden Black and Salden Black Condensed (636 glyphs each) come with a set of alternates, and both lining and oldstyle figures. Salden Caps (597 glyphs) comes with a set of alternates, and Salden Titling (886 glyphs) comes with a quite a lot of swashed forms and alternates (including as many six variants for some forms), a few discretionary ligatures, and two sets of figures. There are also some form alternates for the Cyrillic and Greek sets included in all six fonts. These alphabets were enjoyably studied and meticulously developed over the past ten years or so. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be the ones bringing them to the world as our contribution to maintaining the legacy of a legendary talent and a great designer. The majority of the work was based on Salden’s original drawings, access to which was graciously provided by Museum Meermanno in The Hague. The Salden fonts were done in agreement with Stichting 1940-1945, and their sale will in part benefit Museum Meermanno.

The specimen book Alphabete: ein Schriftatlas von A bis Z identified the pattern for this typeface as Stymie Black Flair. Although neither the designer nor the original foundry is identified, it bears a strong resemblance to the work of Dave West for Photolettering in the 60s and 70s. Corso is a clean condensed sans serif font family. It comes in upright, slanted and italic, in six weights each. It includes useful typographic features such as fractions, ligatures and case sensitive forms. Also included are double- or single-storey versions of a and g, you can switch via stylistic OpenType sets. Other letters with alternative forms accessible the same way are ß and ampersand. Corso works especially great for larger size uses such as signage, headlines or posters. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t also useable for short texts.

Too often, familiarity in type design can fool us into mislabeling similar styles of lettering. The Art Deco years provided many variations of the thick-and-thin alphabet, and we tend to lump all of them together as being "a version of Broadway", as this is the most popular of the genre. However, if one looks closely at each design, they will see variations of line thickness, angles and even individual character design.
