Handsome, adventurous, legible and elegant, this script has the feel of practical handwriting from past centuries. Aquiline is based on a cursive italic style influenced by the 16th century European writing masters. The Aquiline design team turned to Ludovico degli Arrighi, the great 16th century writing master, for period ideas on how to improve, strengthen and add grace to the font. Aquiline has strokes and gestures that seem very like the writing of Arrighi and Mercator, such as the flamboyant balloon of a flourish on the cap A; the graceful flourishes on the cap B, D, and L; and the compact lowercase with tall ascenders. Aquiline has a strong personality and is historically correct.

Acklebury is a chunky, reverse contrast, slab-serif typeface available in two styles. It has heaps of personality, plenty of open type features, and a whole host of special characters and dingbats. Although it's drawn from historical sources, Acklebury is not a straight revival, rather more of an homage to the many, varied, extended lining figures of the late 1800's. Acklebury celebrates the once labelled 'hideous' combination of wide rounded forms and hard slab serifs. Only using modern type technology to fix the spacing and kerning issues that would of been impossible with metal or wooden type. Acklebury is not a French Clarendon, neither is it really an Italienne... but it is phat, wide and hella funky.

Sztos (2018-2022) is a remix of one of the most famous grotesques used in Poland – Baccarat (published by Jan Idźkowski i S-ka in 1922). My version loosely refers to the original. On the one hand, I wanted to modernize the drawing and proportions, on the other hand, I did’t want to lose the historical flavour and details in which you can still feel traditional printing. In addition to the fairly wide version of the normal style, there is also a narrow version. Thanks to this contrast, Sztos gives the possibility of expressive combinations of different styles. This font was created inspired from a handwritten copy of the "Brief story of the second journey in Canada" (1535) by French explorer Jacques Cartier. It is an early "Civilité" manual style, closely looking like the "Civilité" script font carved by Robert Granjon a few years later and still strongly influenced by blackletters forms, clearly visible in the capitals or long s, d, e, f or t forms. (Look at our "1557 Civilite Granjon Pro" and the latest "1638 Civilite Manual"). It is containing Western (including Celtic) and Northern European, Icelandic, Baltic, Eastern, Central European and Turquish diacritics. Historical forms, titling alternates and the numerous lower alternates or ligatures made the font looking like a real various hand.

The inspiration for this typeface family came from my childhood experiences at West Monkton, amidst an historic part of the South West of England. Studies of the original incised capitals of the Trajan column in Rome were analysed and polished for this modern version. The lower case letterforms and numerals were then created in sympathy, taking their proportions from the incised letters of local gravestones. Its name honours not only the area where the original alphabet was conceived and drawn, but also the people responsible for fostering my initial interest in letters. These stylized incised typefaces give a depth to the letterforms that can be exploited in your typography - evoking the carved monumental inscriptions of the Roman era.

The hand lettered credits from the 1942 British film comedy “The Goose Steps Out” became the model for Goose Creek JNL, a simple sans serif design available in both regular and oblique versions. According to the Internet Movie Database (imdb), “A bumbling teacher turns out to be the double of a German general. He is flown into Germany to impersonate the general and cause chaos and hilarity in a Hitler Youth college.” The title is a parody of the “goosestep” style of marching by German soldiers during World War II. As a variant on the movie’s title, the font was named for Goose Creek, South Carolina – a charming community just northeast of historic Charleston.

Poleno is a custom typeface originally designed in 2006 for the Slovak folk dance ensemble Poleno, as a part of their corporate identity. Ever since, new weights have been added to complete six variables and two different options for accents. The typeface adds a fresh, bold and non-rational feeling to headlines and titles in books and posters in display sizes where emphasis and detail are equally important. The concept for Vista began when I sketched a few characters in a notebook while staying in Sumatra on a one month holiday. I wanted to design a typeface for text and display that would retain some of the characteristics of the idiosyncratic shop signs that surrounded me in Sumatra. - Xavier Dupré The result is a comprehensive family spanning six weights, complete with small caps and lively alternate forms, striking a healthy balance between functionality and expressiveness. Each of the six weights includes alternate, small cap and italic variants for a total of 36 fonts in the family. They are available in a full volume of 36 fonts, or in four packages. The packages are grouped into two sets of contrasting weights, with the alternates and small caps divided into separate packages.

A ”modern“ Gothic – designed according to principles of modern form in three variations Faber Gotik is a reminiscence of Gutenberg’s first script from around 1450. The heavily broken forms allow further development in the direction of a modern, strongly geometric and less formal type. It should be possible to push the principle of design so far to the limit that a type is created which, from the very start, extinguishes reminders of a dark past. The characters are composed of squares which are lined up straight or in a more or less slanted manner. The resulting corners similar to serifs were removed so that a sans serif type in the true sense without up and down strokes was created. The principle of ”breaking“ was applied according to the historical model. Even the form of the characters is based on the model from the Middle Ages. Only the characters which cannot be created with the principle described were modeled on today's forms. Faber Gotik includes three variations: - Faber Gotik Text — most similar to the historical model - Faber Gotik Gothic — pushes the applied principle of form the furthest - Faber Gotik Capitals —; a Gothic upper case font, contrary to tradition. 555 years after Gutenberg, interest in black-letter typefaces is nearly extinct. They are especially looked down upon in German-speaking countries because they are still associated with ”Nazi“ scripts. But yet, the very forms of blackletter, Gothic, Schwabacher and especially cursive have enormous potential with regard to the development of new advanced font forms.

CA Saygon Text is the logic consequence of CA Saygon. It is much calmer and therefore also suitable for reading texts and everyday’s editorial tasks. Basic shapes and proportions were adopted from Saygon and continued in such a way that a font family from Thin to Extrabold resulted. A fundamental inspiration were early static grotesque typefaces such as Akzidenz Grotesk. Nevertheless, the typeface was by no means intended to have a historical look. Thus, a relatively high x-height was chosen, which makes the typeface quite economical in type-setting, since the letters appear visually larger. A relatively small line spacing with good legibility can be achieved due to the small ascenders and the low cap height. Letters like f and t, which otherwise tend to end in curves, were given right angles, which on the one hand meets certain design elements of the original Saygon, but on the other hand also refers to contemporary trends in typeface design. A special feature are the five styles in which CA Saygon Text can be used. The default setting is the Helvetica style, with two-storey a and g. The Futura style has a single-storey a and a two-storey g accordingly. The third style with two-storey a and three-storey g is called the Franklin style. But the real highlight is the Cape style with single-storey a and three-storey g – a real rarity up to now. Let yourself be inspired by this unusual typeface. If you like it even more progressive, you should try the flat style, which continues the right angles in a, g, and y as well. Thanks to the Cyrillic and Latin Extended character sets, a huge linguistic area is covered that even extends to Vietnam! Secession is a very readable typeface, suitable for short blocks of text. If you have grown weary of the standard sans-serif faces one sees all the time, you may want to use Secession as a fresh and distinctive substitute. Like Kunstler Grotesk, Secession is one of a number of typeface designs that attempts to reconcile Germany’s blackletter tradition with the international familiarity of roman letterforms in a simple, robust design suitable for meeting the demands of a modern industrial economy, while rejecting the extraneous ornamentation of the departing Victorian era. Unlike Kunstler Grotesk, Secession was designed with a lower case. Secession Bold was originally jointly released as Halbfette Secession by Bauer & Company of Stuttgart and H. Berthold AG of Berlin around 1898. The rest of the family was designed by HiH. The basic family of four: Text, Oblique, Bold and BoldOblique are available in two versions: one set with the standard contemporary lining or ranging numerals for spreadsheets and tables and one set of old-style figures (with OSF in font name) for use with text. The two versions of the basic family, Secession and Secession OSF were released in July 2006. Cousins include ExtraBold, SCOSF Text, and two multi-lingual versions of the text weight. Secession ML includes the Latin Extended-A character set in unicode format plus 17 ligatures and a few strays. ITC Japanese Garden Ornaments is a symbol font designed by Akira Kobayashi (before Kobayashi became Linotype's Type Director in 2001, he worked as an independent typeface designer in Tokyo). The images in Japanese Garden are, as the name suggests, mostly floral or herbaceous, derived from designs used in Japanese indigo stencil dyeing. In Japanese Garden," Kobayashi says, "I tried to create a set of type fleurons that are very familiar to a Japanese eye, but not too exotic to people in other countries." Several of the designs fit together seamlessly in repeating patterns; others work either together or as isolated ornaments, a flexibility that also characterizes traditional Western type fleurons. "The original illustrations," notes Kobayashi, "were mostly cut from white paper squares, about two by two inches in size, and were simply scanned and traced. That is why there are few smooth curves and perfectly straight lines in the illustrations. I simply liked the ragged textures of them.""

A typeface design with extra isolated scattered letters and random careless look. It has six members, normal, bold, and medium, all of which come in two styles, regular and left-slanted italic styles. This font family design follows the guidelines of Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined by the Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph, for the freely-connecting letters in traditional Arabic cursive text. Fallujah employs variable x-height values. It includes only the Lam-Alif ligatures. Soft-vowel diacritic marks, harakat, are selectively positioned. Most of them appear by default on the same level, following a letter, to ensure that they would not interfere visually with letters. Tatweel is a zero-width glyph. Keying the tatweel key before Alif-Lam-Lam-Ha will display the Allah ligature. Fallujah includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals, in addition to standard punctuations.

A ‘Leaden Sky’ is a dark grey sky without clouds. We don’t see too many of them here in Holland, as we usually have lots of clouds. Yesterday, however, the sky turned a sinister greyish green and it spewed out an an enormous amount of hailstones the size of walnuts. Leaden Skies is a handmade, all caps display font. A funtastic and playful typestyle, Wintermint started as a digitization of a film typeface called Lori by LetterGraphics. This font is filled with bounce and liveliness taken from its original limited character set and fleshed out to a fully functional typeface.
