AJSHA font, even though being our newest font, is inspired by ancient Japanese and Chinese culture, eastern style of life of about 5000 years before present day, when honor and a good sword were respected. Japanese special sword Katana is known to be handcrafted to be extremely sharp and deadly. Therefore, the shapes of the AJSHA font accompanies the moves of a Katana master when he uses the power of his sword. The font comes in two styles, light and medium. Medium is a bit bolder style while the exact bold or strong version lacks due to the fact that the font's lines needed to be sharp as a swordsman's cuts. One in the series of fonts called Whiz-Bang Wood Type, intended to be set large and tight. Gullywasher is distinguished by its unusual letterforms and “pineapple” serifs. Eckhardt Headline JNL is a bold, condensed sans serif font. This is part of a series of typefaces popular with the sign trade. Named in honor of the late Albert Eckhardt, Jr. - a talented sign writer and a good friend of type designer Jeff Levine - it is available in both regular and "slant" for extra emphasis.

Jeff Levine's Eckhardt Inline JNL furthers a "mini series" of fonts and lettering styles popularized by sign painters and show card writers. Named in honor of the late Albert Eckhart, Jr. (owner of Allied Signs in Miami, Florida until his passing), this inline sans serif more closely resembles hand lettering than "perfectly designed" display type. The Face2Face (F2F) series was inspired by the techno sound of the mid-1990s, personal computers and new font creation software. For years, Sibylle Schlaich and her friends formed a unique type design collective, which churned out a substantial amount of fresh, new fonts, none of which complied with the traditional rules of typography. Many of these typefaces were used to create layouts for the leading German techno magazine of the 1990s, Frontpage. Schlaich and her fellows would even set in type at 6 points, in order to make it nearly unreadable. It was a pleasure for the kids to read and decrypt these messages! A rounded version of Albiona, a contemporary slab-serif which revisits aspects of Robert Besley’s classic Clarendon. Originally named after the Clarendon Press in Oxford, the type family was subsequently extended by Stephenson Blake in the 1950s. Albiona adds the inwardly-curved stroke terminals of the same foundry’s Grotesque series, and includes italics and old-style and tabular numerals. The original Clarendon’s ball serifs and calligraphic eccentricities have been rationalised for functional contemporary uses. The family consists of five weights plus italics and a stencil, and its clean readable style is perfect for both extended text as well as headline setting.

‘Skiart Serif Subtle’ is now available online. Originally inspired by the san serif font ‘Skia’ by Mathew Carter for Apple. ‘Skiart’ was designed to feel more like a serifed font, but without any serifs. It took a step between sans serif and serif fonts. Next on the path towards a serif font came Skiart Serif Mini, with tiny serifs added. This was a true serif font, all be it on the small side. Skiart Serif Subtle is less of a serif than Skiart Serif Mini, in that it doesn’t have actual 'serifs' as such. It has a subtle flare where a serif might normally be found. It remains fully readable and feels as clean and normal as any of the best body copy serifs, and yet still has the strong solid bones of all the other Skiart font families. If compared to one of the more commonly used serifs like ‘Times New Roman’, the ‘Skiart Serif Subtle’ lowercase is more open with a taller x-height, increasing its readability and friendliness. The serifs are smaller and less distracting. They are not pretending to be ligatures. Where ‘Times’ makes its p q b d forms out of a barely touching oval and stem, the ‘Serif Subtle’ forms are much more firmly attached, appearing clearly as single letters. The standard setting for the a’s and g’s are round single story, feeling warmer and more inviting in the ‘Serif Mini’ font. Much more friendly than the stuffy double-storied versions in fonts such as ‘Times’ etc.

Capraia is a book typeface, with a heavily quirky look when shown at big sizes, and with an irregular but attractive rhythm at text sizes. Capraia Book and Regular are designed specifically for continuous texts: Book meets a current preference of Italian publishers for lighter faces, while the slightly heavier Regular is intended for the wider international market. True to its vocation for publishing, Capraia has a big x-height, medium contrast and wide bracketed serifs. Furthermore, its slightly flattened curves, some unconventional roman letterforms (a, G, Q) and the 'slanted roman' italics, along with design details such as ball terminals, give to the whole family a very contemporary appeal. It has an organic look and feel, while preserves the traditional construction of roman typography. It all started with a desire to learn more about the origin of the strokes on humanist typefaces. To accomplish that, Garibaldi features a 20° axis, medium contrast based on translation and expansion, asymmetric serifs, and terminals related to the broad nib stroke. Garibaldi Regular was nominated for Tipos Latinos 2014. Since then, the family was expanded with more weights and matching italics, making it a solid choice for setting books, magazines and documents. Among many OpenType features, each font contains small caps, ligatures and contextual alternates, totalling more than 750 glyphs and supporting at least 80 languages.

I've been in a vintage-meets-modern mood in my most recent font construction, and this is no exception. Whiskey Tango is a fun retro-style tall and narrow sans-serif font with a scoop of variety: it includes over 110 items in the Private Use Area, including small caps, alternates, ligatures, and ordinal indicators. There's just enough imbalance in stroke widths to make this font a little goofy and quirky, and really charming. All of the lines and curves are clean and sharp, making it great for text that's large, medium, or small. And it's great for crafting as well! As usual for me, this font contains over 300 extended Latin characters for language support, as well as full uppercase and lowercase sets of Greek and Cyrillic characters. And everything, as always, is fully PUA-encoded so all characters are easy to access, no matter what method you use.

Created by Adobe type designer Ryoko Nishizuka , the typeface has a bright and speedy calligraphic touch and can be used to compose readable body text, as it gives a calm and well-controlled color to the typeset page.
