Linotype Vision is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Created by German designer Dan-André Neimeyer, the font contains five weights. The characters look as though they are constructed of fragments fitted only loosely together. Just enough of each character is put onto paper so that the eye of the reader can complete the conventional form. Based loosely on sans serif forms, the font has a futuristic, mathematical feel. Linotype Vision is exclusively for headlines in point sizes of 18 and larger.

A series of lettering guides called “Mimeostyle” for the A. B. Dick Company of Chicago (produced for use in making mimeograph machine printing stencils) were custom manufactured by the Wright-Regan Instrument Company (Wrico). Houschka Rounded Alt is a carbon copy of the Houschka Rounded family with one key difference: the rounded signature glyphs A & W on the default positions swap places with their straight alternates. Houschka was named after Georg Houschka, a sadly defunct confectioner’s shop in Salzburg, Austria, which had a wonderful 1930s frontage and distinctively rounded letterforms in the sign above the door. Altman Grotesk was initially planned as an internal studio typeface for the graphic design studio Ateljé Altmann based in Stockholm, Sweden. After thoroughly researching both classic and contemporary sans serif typefaces, the aim for Altmann Grotesk was set at joining unobtrusiveness yet distinctiveness in one look. As a result, the sans serif successfully embraces a polarizing image of minimalism and uniqueness. During the design process of Altmann Grotesk, it soon became clear that it had the potential to be more than a studio typeface—which ultimately led to a sans serif font family with five distinctive weights that are perfected to fit every possible typography use case.

Triumphant, vigorous and strong. These were the keywords for the design of Girga, named after an Egyptian city in the Sohag Governorate. The power and strength of the Egyptian letterforms were balance with a few sans serif forms so the darkness of the text and the fatness of the overall glyphs could be kept. We never intended to design a revival of the nineteen century egyptian typefaces, but we included a series of features that can be found in many wood letters from that era.
