I come from a family of educators- my mom, husband, stepmom, brother-in-law, and sister are all currently teaching and I have taught in the past. This font was created after speaking to several elementary school teachers who were struggling to find just the right font to use on worksheets and projects in their classroom. They liked many features of other fonts, but needed small things altered in order to make a "perfect fit" for their class. Hand-drawn by me, this font hopefully addresses several of those issues. As penmanship styles vary across the globe, I am sure this font will not work in every classroom. But hopefully this style will work for many teachers to give their early readers a highly legible, neat, accurate font. It is best used with kerning turned on to allow for accurate letter spacing.

Bombelli is a font that looks like it has been handwritten by a meticulous architect in one of those hand-drawn blueprints of the old days. I chose the name to honor one of my ex-bosses -- a graphic designer-architect who taught me a lot of things when I was young and needed the money. One of the things he taught me – and probably the most important one – was to always be on time in the morning. He never said a word about me being late, but it worked. He taught me about being meticulous in detail and many other things I only appreciated much later. This clear and straightforward font deserves bearing his name. First brought to market by the Fundicion Tipografica Richard Gans type foundry (1888-1975) in Spain, the designer of Grotesca is unknown and the font was formerly sold only in Spain.

A friend bought me a Chinese calligraphic brush set in a beautifully decorated box. I started to letter the alphabet on parchment, in my own hand, using quick strokes and found the resulting script had an interesting energy to it. After further refinement in my font application software 'Swordtail' was born. A great free-hand script.

This font set was developed for the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and is inspired by their collection of Pop Art. Artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Rauchenberg sought to blur the lines between high and low art as well as the boundaries between art and everyday life. The alphabets and extras in this set reflect that spirit.

While working on a font based on Spencerian Script (a popular late 19th century handwriting style) we did some experimenting with original designs which created the general feel of Spencerian and brought to mind the spidery handwriting of old ladies and Dickensian clerks. The result was Arakne, a spidery script font with a really striking look.
