Grande Jatte is a display face with a distinctly horticultural bent. Based on classic Engravers types, its wide proportions and leafy appurtenances make it a great choice for anything that requires an ornate, elegant take on the natural world, from floral shops to herbalists to garden party invitations! Grande Jatte's standard form is an elaborate, open, Leafy design with lots of decorative features for large display use, plus a more functional, Solid design for more legible, ancillary text! Balega is stencil-like display font, created by German designer Jürgen Weltin in 2002. Balega's letters are very bold, and have a slight italic slant. While some of the uppercase forms appear somewhat sharp, the lowercase is definitively round and friendly. Text set in Balega has a very forward moving motion, as the slant makes all of the letters seem to be lunging toward the right. This gives the typeface a very dynamic feel. Because the counterforms in and between the letters are very narrow, we recommend using Balega in posters and other larger displays, where its design may be truly appreciated. The tale of Pumpkinseed began with a bit of hand-printing I noticed on the dinner menu at a local restaurant. I took a menu home for future reference. Several months later, some similar hand-lettering on another dinner menu caught my eye. I became a sort of connoisseur of hand-done menu lettering. After tweaking and adjusting a few of these menu-inspired (uppercase) characters, I placed them -- along with some other designs -- in an online Type in Progress survey. They won. So I finished the caps, drew out the lower case from scratch, created three weights and oblique styles. The result: Pumpkinseed, a full-featured casual hand-lettering face. Comes in Light, Medium, and Heavy.

Anago shares the same DNA as its sibling Macha, but is a completely different species than the former or any of my other sans serifs (Aaux Next, Air, Akagi Pro or Wasabi). Soft, ample letterforms are casually constructed and the end result produces a typeface that changes color as it varies in size — allowing the type family to work well in both text and display settings as long as attention is given to size. Anago takes a little but gives a lot. Neustade is a layered typeface based on a simple grid, taking inspiration from the work of Wim Crouwel and Foundry Types. I challenged myself to create a typeface where words and letters can appear within or outside of other words and letters with the help of layering. Neustades grid also applies to the spacing and kerning of individual letters or words, ensuring that every layer will line up and allowing different weights to interact with each other. Individually each weight within the Neustade family has been designed with legibility at small sizes in mind, allowing for smooth and uninterrupted reading. Neustade in large sizes feels both modern and retro, especially when mixing weights and colors.

Kardia is a versatile type family that lets you compose a wide range of texts, from extensive reading materials to striking, eye-catching headlines and titles. Features include ample proportions that have been revised to maintain similar line performance across all its weights. It also has an elevated x-height which facilitates reading in small bodies, in addition to help building solid headlines. Inspired by brush lettering, it takes many features from calligraphic strokes and the foundational style, adapted to a contemporary typographic language. Main Street is a revival of the old font Soutache, the original version of this decorative alphabet was created in 1873 by Julius Herriet, a type designer active during the period marked by the Western expansion. Main Street with its split serifs and ornate scrollwork reflects the romantic splendor of the old west from fancy garb and Cowboy Saddles to Ice Cream Parlors and painted window signage. Main Street goes one step further by creating a base fill font which can be placed behind the regular Main Street font giving this font more of an inline appearance. You will need an application that allows layering of your fonts in order to take advantage of FontMesa Fill fonts.

Piercing is part of a series of typographic experiments from the young Swiss designer Michael Parson. In the Piercing family, which contains three separate weights, Parson has successfully transformed the movements of points and lines into a fabulous display of alphabets. But you can use Piercing as your key to the techno scene: these letters, made up of fine lines terminated by dots, virtually groove with the beat as you set them in text. Like a musical score, they provide a fantastic look just right for your next flyer. Piercing is one of ten experiments in constructed letter design that Parson has included in the Take Type 5 collection from Linotype GmbH."

Huskeseddel is to-do list or memo in English. If you not already guessed it, the font is based upon my own handwriting. Actually not my everyday handwriting, but the kind I use when I make my to-do lists. But it wouldn't look right with a simple font with the same letters repeating all the time, and that's why I added 12 different hastily written versions of each letter. These 12 different versions cycle as you type, making your text look...well, like hastily written letters...you'll have to take a real close look to find out that you are looking at a font, and not a genuine hastily written to-do list! :)

SL Gardel is a tribute to the genial tango singer Carlos Gardel (1890-1935). Gardel was portraited with proverbial slenderness by Natalia Español in SL Gardel. SL Gardel synthezises the most outstanding facets of the "creole trush" (zorzal criollo) through its exclusive icons: his seduction, his tango, his magic, his style. His Buenos Aires. Integrally worked through the typical modulated trace style founded in Buenos Aires tango graphics, the SL Gardel's imaginery unfolds a singular fan of images-concepts. The tango spirit reflected trough an excellent developement. SL Gardel is an original iconographic illustration library in True Type format. SL Gardel takes part of the "Icons of Icons" Gallery, developed by SinergiaLab for Sudtipos.

Designed by Arthur Baker in 1994 for URW, Kigali is a wide-bodied display type with bold, uneven, pen-drawn strokes that taper dramatically downward. This unusual theme creates a unique, recognizable look. Furthering the effect, the Kigali typeface family contains additional decorative design fonts, one with a zigzag pattern filling the spacious strokes, and another with the letters in black squares for use as ornamental initials. The regular and italic versions include two alternate faces: one with long, tall ascenders and regular-length descenders, and one with shortened ascenders and descenders that allow it to fit where its companion might not. Use Kigali sparingly in display advertising, labels, flyers, and other incidental work.

Silvan Kaesar designed Seedbad after observing the unique sign lettering along the shores of Lake Geneva's bathing area. Seebad's four different settings represent the cutting edge new style of Swiss design, which spans the bridge between modern and contemporary. Containing geometrically forms, Seebad has a narrow base. Some characters (the lowercase t", for example) display unicase, even uncial-like tendencies. Birdcage was designed from a very short lettering sample in Rob Roy Kelly's American Wood Type book, from the image I created a complete font plus a regular version with lowercase. In the past banner style fonts would limit you to a monospaced look, so how do you kern a banner font? Well, with today's OpenType font format the solution is simple, draw the kerning pairs together as one character glyph and place them inside the font then use auto substitution to access those characters when needed. Birdcage (OpenType version) includes 249 auto ligature kerning pairs, to use this feature you will need an application that takes advantage of OpenType features such as Adobe CS products.

We count three inspirations for the László font family. The upper case was inspired by Yomar Augusto’s amazing font Unity, used on last year’s German World Cup Team jerseys; the lower case from a few letters a poster for a Bauhaus show. The name László is an homage to László Moholy-Nagy, peerless Bauhaus designer and teacher. The László type family is stripped down to the typographic core, lean, clean and definitely machined, at home in either a formal or casual setting, i.e. you can take László anywhere. Inspired by watching the World Cup and the German Team’s jerseys. Very clean, simple, Bauhaus-style design, European and highly legible. Usage recommendations Automobile ads, anywhere a European feel is desired.

Maleo is a contemporary display sans with grotesque roots, taking cues from typefaces such as Benton’s Franklin Gothic & Alternate Gothic and contemporaries such as Obviously & Mars Condensed. Designed by Aditya Wiraatmaja as his debut retail typeface, Maleo is primarily designed with large-size usage in mind. Its tiny flare and angled cut terminal lends itself a friendly and approachable presence. With a family of 14 styles that range from thin to black with matching italics, it is a versatile display type that stands out in headlines, yet one that emits a charming personality. Maleo support various languages and is equipped with many Opentype features including; Old Style Figures, Ligature, Fractions, Numerators and Denominators, and Stylistic Alternates.

In January of 2006, Jeff Levine fonts debuted with ten releases. Many of those first fonts were based on vintage lettering stencils, which were the "school years" catalyst for Jeff's interest in lettering and type design. Eight years later, his collection of fonts has become a giant catalog of display type ranging from Wood Type revivals to Art Nouveau, Art Deco to stencil, reinterpretations of old favorites, experimental fonts, dingbat fonts and typefaces reflecting a particular decade's styles of cultural popularity. Designs from old lettering books, type catalogs and advertising have also been fodder for many alphabets not previously available in a digital format. Along the way, many unusual lettering sources were also mined for type ideas. Vintage packaging, hand-lettered signage, sign making kits, rubber stamp type, water applied decals and at times just a singular letter example inspired many of the releases within this collection. It was a source of pride for Jeff Levine Fonts to reach 500 releases and a determined goal to grow the type library as far as possible. With this in mind, February 2014 brings forth many new releases. This one in particular, Ornery Polecat JNL, is the 800th typeface release from Jeff.

In the 1990s I drew a text face for the San Francisco Chronicle. It was based on W. A. Dwiggins’ Electra and incorporated many features of the Linotype Legibility Series: More compact, with a taller lowercase X-height, etc. That type was called Electric and it was the Chronicle’s text face for nearly a decade, surviving several redesigns. From that, I made Azuza, a more detailed and sensitive style. Azuza was recognized in the TDC2 type competition in 2001. Then it went into hibernation as a Type 1 font family. Today it is back. Six fonts. Open Type.

Basel Neue is the complete redesign of BaselSans ITD font, the first typeface of Isaco Type foundry, launched in 2009. As with the predecessor version, Basel Neue is a legible and discrete typeface, a sans serif with thickness variation and humanistic touch. The family consists of 8 styles, 4 weights plus their respective italic versions. Zim, in the book “Codes and secret writing”, elected the most common letter pairs of English, that in the Basel Neue became discretionary ligatures. And, of course, it also has standard ligatures. 2) It’s a fun typeface. Basel Neue has a set of emoticons and fun symbols that can be activated by discretionary ligatures. Type “:-)” and a smileface appears. Type “8-)” and a smiley with glasses appears. Type “ ”, “ ” and “ ” and a telephone, star and heart appears. Or “ ”... and a graceful corresponding symbol will appear. 3) Basel Neue contains lots of useful glyphs and features. All versions have 12 recycling symbols, 7 to different types of plastic, and over 30 currency symbols. It also has fractions, old style-, lining-, tabular numbers and other OpenType features. 4) It has an organized and large character set. The fonts have extended character set to support CE, Baltic, Turkish as well as Western European languages. If you work with languages ​​like Catalan, German, Croatian, Romanian, Dutch, Turkish, for example, the font will use the correct ligatures or characters used in these languages. 5) It’s rigorously tested.
