I always like to make a heart swash font and this is my 7th. Winterfalls is a high quality, smooth, simple script font which is easy to read and ideal for anything romantic and loving. Use it on cards and notes for baby announcements, wedding stationery, birthday and thank you cards but most of all, anything for your Valentine. Winterfalls includes left and right end swashes and connecting swashes on the lowercase letters, and a set of alternate uppercase letters with heart swashes. There are a few alternate lowercase letters, such as the ‘i’ and the ‘j’ dotted with a cute little heart and many, many ligatures. As usual, this font also comes with a good set of international characters, which will come in handy when you want you entice your valentine with a little french, haha. If you use a program which doesn’t have a glyphs panel then it’s super easy to copy and paste the alternates and ligatures from Font Book (Mac) or Character Map (Windows).

This design incorporates different styles into a consistent look. A pinch of script, a little of geometric and some humanistic shapes as well create a very distinguishable sans-serif. It has an overall good feeling specially on the heavier weights that have intended contrast irregularities to create a 'cartoonish' look. On the intermediate weights the design will preform well on small font sizes because of its large counters, low contrast and large x-height, but as you go to the extremes you will see shapes full of personality that will pop out in large font sizes. The font is loaded with opentype features such as small caps, ligatures, alternates, old style figures, and much more. The italic version is deeply rooted in the calligraphic heritage of the Italics. This way the brush inspired strokes are emphasized as well as an overall calligraphic look. Far from being a mere slant, Mangerica Italic had every lowercase glyph redesigned as well as some uppercase, besides that, every glyph was optically adjusted to ensure not only aesthetics but functionality too.

Ribbon type. Holy grail of complex-lettering-turned typeface or an elusive Loch Ness monster that is often teased, possibly seen in the wild, but never confirmed? From the amazing lettering artist and author Martina Flor and masterful type designer Neil Summerour, comes the aptly named Ribbons. Ribbons is a sincere and well-conceived approach to providing a reliable solution to ribbon and ribbon-styled type for creative professionals when a lettering artist just isn’t available. Ribbons provides both flat and ‘folded’ options with the Regular and Fold styles, but then raises the bar with separate layer styles that will allow you to easily create the elegant back and forth movements produced with ribbon-style lettering we have all come to appreciate. These layer options are provided in both ‘smooth’ and ‘pleated’ connected styles. Flor and Summerour didn’t stop there. Each typeface was expanded with a number of stylistic alternates, additional swashed and flourished letters, ligatures, and even more in order to provide as many decorative options as possible to the creative. To round out the nine fonts available in the typeface and to ‘put a bow on it’, they’ve added a separate Shadow style and two different color fonts (available exclusively with family purchases).

Neuarc Font Family This is the 20th font family of CozyFonts Foundry, established 10 years ago in 2012 with the release of Aladdin Bold. Neuarc is based loosely on arcs and curves, hence it’s naming. As shown in one of the font posters that serves to showcase this font, a collage of rough sketches is displayed as the poster’s background. These hand drawn pencil drawings were worked and reworked and The final drawings were scanned and built in Adobe Illustrator and transferred to glyph windows, glyph by glyph, in Fontlab 8. The 5 styles, so far, are reminisscent of The Art Deco Era of Design between the 1030s and 1950s. Neuarc also has it’s own footprint with several characters that stand out, eg. A, 8, &, B, ?, $, 5, w, x, a, c, e, etc. giving the reason for the ’Neu’ in the naming. These letterforms & Numbers work extremely well in monograms. Each styles has it’s own personality. From the ultra chic Light style to the dominant cool Bold style, this family maintains a uniform legibility at small to large sizes. Meant primarily for display uses, Neuarc works well for posters, logos, headlines, packaging, branding, signage for a myriad of applications. The Neuarc Deco style font will work well in titles and numbers of any application.

Characterized by quickness, lightness, and ease of movement, Bird Script is a font which challenges many aspects of type-design: every single stroke, comes directly from the author’s hand and tries to reflect not only the tool used, but also his feelings at the moment of writing. Bird Script is a font filled up with the energic gestures of what it’s called gestural calligraphy, a not very explored field in typography, where hardly ever a letter comes the same way two times: When manipulating the pen, the letterer seeks for the beauty of the differences and the grace of a confident execution. Originally done with a flat speedball pen nib nº5 and retouched with pencil for the bolder elements, it turned into a very pleasant to the eyes font which dances between the formal rules of typography and the artistic look of calligraphy. At the turn of the 20th century monolinear alphabets were often despised for their dullness. Typographers, therefore, took great pains to breathe some kind of individuality into the monotonous sans-serif scheme. They started with subtle differentiation in the thickness of vertical and horizontal strokes and finished by improving details. By this they arrived at a more decorative appearance of the type face which thus became more regardful of the eye of the bourgeoisie. Ideal Gothic is no exception. It is characterized by a correct stiffness which will improve the morals of every idea printed by this type face. The awkward curves of the italics are a little suggestive of openwork iron products or the bent iron of the decorative little railings in a Prague park. The so-called "hidden" and, furthermore, curved serifs complete the inconspicuous "charm" of this type face. All its above-mentioned features, however, suddenly turn into advantages when we need to design a magazine, a brochure or an annual report, in short whenever illustrations dominate. It is not by accident that the basic design of "Ideal Gothic" has such a light tonal value - it competes neither with fine pencil sketches, nor with sentimental landscapes. It is very suitable for business cards and corporate identity graphics.

Besley Clarendon ML is our version of the Clarendon registered by Robert Besley and the Fann Street Foundry in 1845. Besley Clarendon ML represents a significant change from the slab-serif Antiques & Egyptians that had become so popular in the prior three decades. Like Caslon’s Ionic of 1844, it brackets the serifs and strongly differentiates between the thick and thin strokes. Besley Clarendon is also what today is considered a condensed face, as a comparison to the various contemporary Clarendons will show. Robert Besley’s Clarendon was so popular that many foundries quickly copied it, a fact that caused him to complain vigorously. The reason it was so widely copied is simple ó it was extremely useful. It provided the attention-getting boldness to highlight a word or phrase, yet at the same time was compact and easier to read than the fat faces and antiques of the period. Sapore is a script font family, mostly monoline, inspired by the elegant handmade signs in the beautiful city of Venice, Italy, where I work and live. Many of these signs were made at the beginning of the 20th century by skillful craftsmen and artists, carrying that distinct vintage Italian flavour, and this is why I named the font Sapore, which means precisely flavour (also, one of the signs is from a pastry shop that makes the most delicious things). The design takes this retro vibe into the 21st century, making it up-to-date and fresh, while keeping it authentic. It is a script font, but I added some stand alone capitals that you can use in all caps words and texts effortlessly, as the open type code is taking care of using the right set of letters at the right time, I could have made two separate fonts, but I wanted to give you the best value I could and ease of use. Make sure contextual alternates are always on! There are also swashes, alternate styles, stylistic sets, small caps, 2 figure sets and decorative elements, all accessible through open type. I think the font is particularly suited for display use, as in logos, packaging design, branding, but it is readable enough for small text blocks. You can access the non-linking caps by clicking on the discretionary ligatures button. You can access the loopy caps by clicking on the titling alternates button. The main version has straight terminals but I included a round version and a calligraphic one, called “classico”. Hope you like it!

A throwback design reminiscent of 1950s signage and print ads, Merrymakers JNL takes a previous release (Bluesman JNL) and places the letters and numbers inside parallelograms with ‘TV screen’ openings. Merrymakers JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. The upper case A-Z characters have the taller side of the shape to the left, while the lower case a-z has the taller side to the right. Minotaur is an original monoline design based on an Oscan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscan_language ) votive inscription from the second century B.C.E. The letterforms immediately caught my eye in the wonderful book, Lettering by Hermann Degering, and I decided to create a typeface based on them with only enough compromises to make it usable as a modern alphabet. Not quite as straightforward as I had hoped. For example, the Oscan language (the predominant language in the Italian peninsula before the ascendance of Latin), has no letter "O", so the distinctive curve of the "D" was used as the model for the rounded letters "C" and "G" and more subtly for "O" and "Q"; this shape is also echoed in the original design of "B", "P" and "R". Also, the Oscan letterforms for A, K, L, M, N, S, and U are rather quaint, so I've included modern forms as alternates. Minotaur offers the best of both worlds: Just as the mythical Minotaur is half man and half bull, the font Minotaur is half modern and half ancient. Thanks to OpenType features (stylistic sets), you can easily switch from ancient letterforms to modern (if you have an OpenType-savvy application such as Adobe InDesign) for Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets. Minotaur supports all modern European languages, including Modern (monotonic) Greek and those that use the Cyrillic alphabet. And, yes, it supports Oscan, both right-facing and left-facing. Minotaur includes 3 OpenType Stylistic Sets: 1 - converts ancient (default) letterforms (A, K, L, M, N, S, and U) to modern alternates; 2 - converts Latin letterforms to equivalent left-facing (standard) Oscan letterforms; 3 - converts Latin letterforms to equivalent right-facing Oscan letterforms.

Originally inspired by the numerals on a vintage clock face, Roloi is a layered numbers font in the deco lettering style, and includes a full set of automatic clock symbols. Its geometric forms are typical of the deco style, but stop well-short of pure geometry. The irregular stroke and character widths work together to give the forms a warm and energetic, yet cohesive, feel. Roloi offers two layering styles—the personable Fill and the more dynamic Inline. Designed to be layered over the background Regular style, they both lend the forms an added level of interest. Roloi also includes a clock symbol for any and every time of day, rounded to the nearest five-minutes. The regular weight provides the circular clock background, while the Fill and Inline styles produce the clock hands. If ligatures are activated in your text-editing program, type out any time—such as 9:32, 12:05, etc.—and the proper clock symbol will be automatically substituted. Go ahead, type any time out below! To stop the automatic clock symbol substitution, simply deactivate ligatures. Because the clock symbols are standard ligatures, every major modern browser will support their use on the web. With some programing they could even be used to make a lightweight, text-only clock. Gimbal Egyptian is a richly-featured font family providing many style options across a broad range of languages. It is twinned with Gimbal Grotesque, a sans-serif family with an identical range of weights and features. Originally conceived as a small webfont family, the letterforms have been revitalised to put a spring in their step and the family has been extended to create a versatile multi-script text face equally at home on the printed page. Carefully crafted at all weights, Gimbal also lends itself to headlines and display applications such as posters, exhibitions and signage while resolving well on-screen for general document creation and web-based applications. The letters are spaced for best readability on-screen and in the usual printed body text ranges but are tolerant of tracking adjustment to suit other uses. The styles are divided by width into four families (Compressed, Condensed, Normal, Extended), each family possessing six weights plus corresponding italics. Within each family, the 'regular' and 'bold' weights are style-linked, and all upright forms have an italic counterpart. The full opentype character set includes latin, greek and cyrillic scripts with appropriate local variants (also as stylistic sets) for Turkish, Polish and Romanian (latin) and Russian, Bulgarian and Serbian (cyrillic). All fonts contain small capitals for all scripts, superscript for latin and commonly used greek together with the usual numeral style, size and positioning options. The default numerals are 'proportional lining'. Other opentype features include case-sensitive marks, fractions, and some discretionary ligatures. A set of circled numerals and circled latin capitals is included, along with an unusual feature that composes 2-character country codes.

Poligon is a large family of geometric sans serif fonts. It is inspired by classic typefaces from the geometric-sans genre, like Futura and Avant Garde Gothic, whose shapes were constructed from circles and straight lines. Every character has been crafted to give it a distinct and individual feel. The family is an excellent choice for both corporate design and editorial design projects because of its range of weights, as well as its legibility in text. The typeface family ships in two different formats. Depending on your preference, you can install the typeface as two Variable Fonts or use the family’s eight static OpenType font files instead. Those weights run from Thin to Black. While the static-format fonts offer a good intermediary-step selection, users who install the Variable Fonts have vastly greater control over the stroke width in their upright and italic texts. But even the static fonts satisfy the need for flexibility, creating harmonious variations of texture and emphasis. Despite their rigid geometry, the fonts have a playful air to them. That playfulness and uniqueness can be dialed up by applying stylistic alternates via the fonts’ four Stylistic Sets.
