HansHand started out in 2003 as a simple free font, the adaption of my grimy handwriting. For its 10th anniversary it got a complete overhaul and lots of new characters. Now also available in BOLD for the first time, featuring scribbles, strokes, circles and boxes to underline the fast taking-notes-while-on-the-phone look!

This Font is inspired by the Nintendo game: Tetris® It has 2 styles: BOLD and THIN. They both have simulated greyscale and can be used out of the box like you see them on the pictures. It comes with more than 450 glyphs per style. More than capable of supporting all european languages, small caps and different numeral figures.

Farmland JNL is an unusual Western version of Cornfield JNL. The shape of the original letters (inspired by a 1950s popcorn box) create a new variation on the lettering of the Old West.

Dereza is a grotesque typeface designed specially for display use in children’s books and magazines. Books for little ones are usually set in grotesques, and a vigorous font would make a nice addition to the main face. Playful and lively, Dereza is great for any non-grown-up design such as games and toy boxes, cookie jars and cereal packs, clothing labels and other things meant for kids. It looks super in speech bubbles. The Dereza family includes four fonts, from light to bold, with ligatures, lowercase figures and accented characters.

Abwyn is a sparkly Art Deco construction. The little diamonds in the vertical strokes add a lightness that is very pleasing to the eye in display sizes: Lower case numbers, Euro, ballot box in the section slot. It was just designed for fun & celebration.

Neuron puts a chemist's twist on standard block-style print to create a fresher version of the elemental alphabet. Widely spaced letters and a slightly tall x-height have a clean effect for great readability. Squarish shapes are stylized to retain curved tails, achieving a neutral appearance that makes it very versatile. A thick width in ExtraBold, Black and Heavy give stand-out strength for headlines and branding, without affecting legibility. Slab Compact JNL was based on the printed title found on the box cover of a 1950s-era word games set called “Lex-O-Grams” and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Inspired by the strange, blocky lettering on the sides of a set of a set of plastic kitchen containers in my childhood home, 8th Avenue is a sophisticated, somewhat syncopated font with a retro look and feel that at the same time brings a very modern attitude to your design. 8th Avenue works well as display font for packaging, headlines and logos. Those pastel turquoise plastic boxes from the early 1950s, with white screen printed letters reading FLOUR, SUGAR, COFFEE etc. on one side were a simple quiet presence in our home back then and for decades after. Seeing them, even that soft blue-green colour felt like home. SUGAR, the soul survivor of that set has become one of those mundane items of daily life that somehow become simple icons of another time, ripe with memories. Obviously I had to make a font. Elise is a sweet natured, layered display typeface, with a few layers but a wealth of options. From the feminine to the fun to the nostalgic, Elise is a capable and personable set. Best used BIG and with color, you’ll always find an occasion for Elise’s charm. To use this typeface, once you have your copy in place in the design program of your choice, copy your text block and paste it directly on top of your existing text block. Set this new text block to a different Elise layer and voila! You’ll already start to see some interesting effects take place. In some cases, different effects are achieved by bringing The Elise Ribbed layer to the front or to the back. Also available is a free ornament set to get you started.

Madley is a contemporary slab serif typeface. Featuring monolinear stems, elongated block serifs and teardrop terminals, the type family goes from a delicate Hairline weight to a heavy Black weight. Because of its range in weights and extensive Opentype features, it’s a perfect font for both text and display text settings. Alternative features include a wide array of swashes assigned up to 11 for select characters, combining ligatures in capital unicase settings, and stylistic alternates for some letters. Village was originally designed by Frederic Goudy in 1903 for Kuppenheimer & Company for advertising use, but it was decided it would be too expensive to cast. It was later adopted as the house face for Goudy's Village Press. The design was very much influenced by William Morris's 'Golden' type. Paul Hunt began working on a digital version of Frederic Goudy's Village type prior coming to P22 in 2006 for an internship (which evolved into a staff designer position at P22.) Around this time, The Tampa Book Arts Studio was looking for a digital version of Village to complement with a letterpress edition of a book called "The Rich Mouse" by JJ Lankes. Many years later the Rich Mouse project has been completed, so we decided to release the Village type on the same day as the release of the Rich Mouse Book!

OffBit is a font type derived from Bitmap with various variations from each box. The term bitmap comes from computer programming terminology, which means simply a bit map, a spatially mapped array of bits. Now, together with PowerType, it usually refers to a similar concept of an array of pixels that are mapped spatially and into various shapes such as dots and other models. My kids have a tin box filled with crayon and pencil leftovers: bits and pieces that have fallen or broken off, but are still good enough to use. For me it is a treasure trove, as I often find a nice bit of crayon to use for a new font. In this case, I created Leftover Crayon. Leftover Crayon is a fat, crumbling and seriously eroded crayon font. Completely hand made, completely legible and full of character. Introducing our first old english black letter Royal Grande. Quite basic anatomy not the contemporary style. With this not too complicated black letter that make this font good for general display projects. We also make it a black letter family because we rarely see this kind of option in the market. Absurdies is a trilogy of pictorial typefaces with lots of mischief, fun, weirdness, black humour and amusement. It includes 143 digitized illustrations. You will find many inexplicable behaviours, madmen, strange occupations, absurd and chaos-loving characters, and general whimsy. This little crowd can be used in many ways, from spot illustration to big illustration work or graphic designs, taking advantage of the vectorial format of the font file. Shoebox font is crafty and sweet. It’s hand-drawn with double letter ligatures for upper and lower case. It works great in all-caps, and the lower case is a funky mix up with some interlocking ligatures too. Shoebox is rough with an occasional curl, and is paired with Shoebox Shapes; a unique picture font of Amy Dietrich illustrations (featuring boxes, bags, cats, stars, familiar household items, and for some reason, a forgetful octopus).

I am not really a creature of habit, but when I start working on a new font, I make myself a cup of coffee first. I guess you can call that a habit, so I decided to name this font Force Of Habit. Force Of Habit is a nice brush font - made with a cheap pencil that I borrowed from the kids’ colouring box and my trusted (and seemingly ever flowing) Chinese ink.
