Now that there are more Studio K fonts than there are characters in the alphabet it occured to me that I should produce a sampler font that showcased them all: hence Variety. The 'What the font' experts amongst you should enjoy identifying individual characters, but to start you off, the featured fonts in the font title are, in order of appearance: Alma Mater Outline Shadow, Aspidistra, Signpost, Cafe de Paris, Showbiz, Barrowboy and Soft Rock.

This family was inspired by the Fournier's font named "Financière". It is a looking like manual font, carved in 1741 by Pierre Simon Fournier (le jeune) and published in his Manuel Typographique... in Paris (1764-1766). We offer 1741 Financière" as a rich complement to our 1786 GLC Fournier. The font is enriched by numerous ligatures and OTF specifications to make it attractive and offer a lot of various typographic possibilities in a text.

Here is my font with carved out letters, like a really bad stamp. Each lowercase letter has 3 different versions, and that makes your text more natural, organic and handmade. Normally I kern my fonts throughout, but this time there is no kerning at all...and that's odd, when we're not talking about monospaced fonts. Anyway, Bottle Fork has its flaws and jumpy x-height...but that's exactly the charm of it all! :)

The long and frustrating search for a dynamic, monoline script drew our attention to the lack of such a typeface. This prompted us to create our very own, Terital, named after the 1960s Italian overcoat advertisement that was the original reference point for its 2003 creation. Fearing the odd all-caps script setting, we cheekily designed Terital as a lowercase set. This limitation was revised in the 2011 version. Beautiful swash capitals were also added.

Mr Eaves was based on the proportions of Mrs Eaves, but Licko took some liberty with its design. One of the main concerns was to avoid creating a typeface that looked like it simply had its serifs cut off. And while it matches Mrs Eaves in weight, color, and armature, Mr Eaves stands as its own typeface with many unique characteristics. The Sans version relates most directly to the original serif version, noticeably in the roman lower case letters a, e, and g, as well as in subtle details such as the angled lead in strokes, the counter forms of the b, d, p, and q, and the flared leg of the capital R, the tail of the Q. The distinctly loose-fitting letter spacing of Mrs Eaves was applied also to the Sans version. This, together with generous built-in line spacing due to a small x-height and extended ascenders and descenders, renders the same kind of lightness and airiness when setting text that is so characteristic of Mrs Eaves. Deviations from the original Mrs Eaves are evident in the overall decrease of contrast, as well as in details such as the flag and tail of the f and j, and the finial of the t, which were shortened to maintain a cleaner, sans serif look.
