This variation in the Tangential series (see also the Standard & Rounded families) continues with the angles that give the typeface its name, however a semi-serif is applied wherever appropriate to create a more open, softer variant. The Tangential style I envisaged for the family is complemented by the prominent use of negative space throughout, most apparent on the drop shaped ‘o’ which is a key feature of the typeface and a letterform I'm particularly pleased with. Straight Angles is a precisely designed three-dimensional font with a clean and futuristic look. The predominant angles are 90 degrees and 180 degrees with parallel and perpendicular lines. Each character is surrounded by a crisp black border of even thickness throughout the font. Upper- and lower-case letters are the same, providing a constant maximum top height while the stems extending below are allowed to show off their distinct personalities in order to spice things up. The 3D extrusion effect makes text appear to stand out from the page.

This family was created -- inspired from the engraved typeface (Two styles : Normal & Italic) used in the pack of 52 playing cards who was describing the 52 counties forming a small Atlas of England and Wales and depicting English roads for the first time, published by Sir Robert Morden in 1676. Sleepy time… Ah, if only your kids would go to bed, close their eyes and drift off to sleep. This font was created when my son had some problems falling asleep: he'd cry, he wanted to sleep in a different bed, he wanted a different animal friend (he has Tij - a tiger, Meh - a sheep, Rafi - a giraffe, Moo - a cow, Woofy - a dog, Kikker - a frog). Sleepy Time font is an all caps typeface with uneven letters and a very different upper and lower case. It comes with all languages, including Cyrillic!

When you think of Zealand, you’ll probably think of NEW Zealand. But did you know that New Zealand was named after the Dutch province of Zeeland (meaning Sea-land)? And did you know that there are many sealands in the world? Denmark has Sjælland and there is even a micronation called Sealand off the coast of England. Zealand font is a handmade, all caps display font. I used a Japanese brush pen for the outlines and the fill. It has a nice textured look, making it ideal for book covers and product packaging.

My family and I are off to England for a camping holiday this summer. I have booked some small, basic campsites which are close to nature. The kids love to camp, especially since we can have a campfire at night! I was thinking about this when I worked on Camping Holiday font. It is a cute sans serif ‘book cover’ font. To tell you the truth, I don’t know what a juicy advice is - other than I guess it’s something positive and maybe even helpful. Well, what I do know is that this Juicy Advice is positive, helpful and playful. It’s a handmade comic font, with an outline version to compliment the Regular version. The outline version is also handmade, but not entirely sticking to the boundaries of the shapes of the Regular version. This leaves the outline somewhat off, but deliberately in order to keep the authentic feeling.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the new Ashtronaut font is on fire and blasting off into outer space. This futuristic new font combines basic geometric forms like circles and dashes to form uppercase shapes that are softer and more traditional and lowercase letters with sharp and abstract characteristics. This family was inspired from a lot of 1848-1850 French engraved documents reproducing handwritten texts talking about the Paris' insurrection days in June 1848 (described by Victor Hugo in Les misérables) . It seems that all were first written using quill pens, as the strokes are too much heavy and bold for metal pens and even though the engraver work is very fine. We have added only a few characters, most of them were present in the originals. The TTF and OTF versions are enriched with more than 50 ligatures or alternate characters.

My kids asked me what killed the dinosaurs. I told them it probably was a meteor strike off the coast of Yucatán in Mexico. So, when I made this font, that little talk about the meteor hitting earth came to mind and a font name was born! Meteor strike is a slightly slanted brush font. It was made with my Chinese ink and a cheap brush (like most of my brush fonts). Meteor Strike comes with an attitude and a cheeky grin. It will sure leave a lasting impact on your designs!
