Nosegrind is a bit of a departure from our usual more traditional font offerings. It's based on skate-culture graffiti gleaned from various samples of similar style found on walls in Austin and online. The font includes two character sets, one which is plain and one which is enhanced with outlines. In normal usage the characters should nest, with slight overlap from one character to the next as shown in the sample to the right, but the lower case characters in the font are spaced evenly but not pre-nested, leaving the degree of overlap up to the user - nesting is easily adjusted with the tracking option in programs like Photoshop, Quark or InDesign. Ultimately Nosegrind will be added to our Modern Fonts collection, where it ought to fit in nicely.

My family and I are stuck in quarantine for a week; my eldest son tested positive for Covid19 (but everyone else tested negative), so we can’t go out. That means that the kids follow classes online. I noticed their notebooks and suddenly realised that a notebook used to be called a ‘cahier’, which is a French word meaning the exact same thing. I guess it sounded sophisticated at the time. Mon Petit Cahier (meaning: My Little Notebook) is a handmade script font. It is not meant to be awe-inspiring, nor do you want to use it for headlines or posters. It is a nice little font that feels at home wherever an unobtrusive script is needed. Comes with all the diacritics you want and a set of cool double letter ligatures.

Signature Script is a smooth pen script with large display capitals and small but legible lowercase letters. It’s ideal for logo, signature, poster, brochure or any display use. Signature Script is great for typing headlines or a restaurant logo - it’s stylish but legible enough due to its smooth shapes. Signature Script has at least three alternates for every basic lowercase letters that are automatically connected to next letter nicely. This feature is coded inside Standard Ligature so I recommend keeping that on. There’s also Stylistic Alternates for every standard Uppercase letter and Swash, Stylistic and Titling Alternates on certain lowercase letters that can be used to spice up your words. Edith is a handmade serif typeface that can be used for long texts. Another typical Art Deco font from Nick Curtis. Uppercase only, but with alternate letterforms in the lowercase positions. I have completely redesigned all the diacritics (which were way too flimsy for this robust design) before expanding the character set in the usual fashion. Nick Curtis says: "Back in the Olden Days of Graphic Design B.C. (before computers), type freaks used to wait in anxious anticipation for each new release of the Letraset catalog. The inspiration for this font, Premiere Lightline, was one such release, and probably help spur my interest in Deco designs. My version is beefier, and includes an entire lower case of alternate letterforms, making this (at least) two fonts in one. The name is the 40’s hep talk equivalent of “Cool!”". MAS AMOR POR FAVOR (1) (more love, please) Fluire means -to flow- in Italian and that’s what this font is all about. The story began when a friend of mine asked for a tattoo with the word -Fluir- (to flow in Spanish). She didn't want a tattoo full of swashes and swirls, like I'm used to doing, but something more fluent, soft and minimal. My very first attempts were more related to copperplate calligraphy but I wasn't even close: I discovered that I needed to forget a little bit about the classic contrast and speed of the engrosser's nib and started playing with a tiny flat metal nib. Letters started to flow, and I immediately thought of turning them into a font. Inspired by the tattoo I created and by other tattoos I saw, I started the journey of what would be a very fun process. The result is a very cute, almost monoline font with a wide range of uses. USES If not used for a tattoo (my first ‘target’), the font delivers amazing results in combination with Fluire Caps: These two need each other, they go together, they talk. I designed Fluire Caps Down and Fluire Caps Up so it’s easier to manage their colors. Also there’s Fluire Caps Down Lines, which has a decorative thin line to add yet another dimension. Use the fonts in magazines, book covers, posters, greeting cards, weddings, lettered walls, storefronts! TIPS Since the font is Open-Type programmed, I strongly recommend using it in applications that support that feature. Also, the font looks way better when -contextual alternates- are activated, but it’s your choice :) Try Fluire, and keep flowing. Lopsickles is a family in which the letters are based on lopsided, distorted ellipses. The family has four sets of letters that are combined in six different ways, yielding six fonts. Four of these fonts (styles AB, Ad, Bc, and cd) use the OpenType feature Contextual Alternatives (calt) to alternate letter sets so that top-heavy characters alternate with bottom-heavy characters. The spacing in these fonts is designed for alternating characters and will result in overlap if the characters do not alternate. The other two styles (Ac and Bd) are spaced normally. Style Ac contains the two character sets that are top heavy and style Bd has the two character sets that are bottom heavy. The Ac and Bd fonts have italics and backslanted styles that may be useful to suggest speed. Each of these ten fonts has an inset style designed to be used in a layer above the base font. This layering can be used to give the effect of hollow letters or to add a colored interior. Lopsickles joins several other alternating-characters families in the IngrimayneType library including Snuggels, CloseTogether, and Caltic, but is visually very different from them. It is a strange, unusual family that will get noticed.
