Film-P2 is an Ultra Condensed sans serif display typeface designed by Bartosz Panek. It is the follower of the geometric 'Film Poster' (https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/fontsphere/film-poster/) which was inspired by futuristic movie posters. In Film-P2, the letter design is more neutral, the font is more versatile, but no less expressive, which was one of the assumptions of the project. This allows many different application possibilities. In titles, headings, longer text compositions, bold and custom juxtapositions, and in many different formats. I was inspired by old posters and commercials for old 8-bit computers from the late 70-ies and 80-ies. Well, the thought of all that, combined with my love for grafitti and comic text, inspired me to do this font!

The "Zornale", is an original manuscript that contains a large amount of data, providing a daily record of the books acquired by the Venetian bookseller Francesco de Madiis, between 1481 and 1488. Apollo is oddly one of the lesser known typefaces of Frutiger, perhaps due to the extreme fame of some of his other works, like the typefaces Frutiger® and Univers®. Stylistically, the very legible and harmonic Apollo is an old face. Frutiger designed it especially for the photosetting used at the time. The Apollo typeface family consists of the weights roman and semibold and their respective italics as well as expert sets. Frutiger optimized the relation between the two weights so that the roman is robust enough to present a legible text on soft paper but light enough to contrast with the semibold. The clear, elegant Apollo is perfect for headlines as well as long texts.

Akira Kobayashi modified his Eurostile Next design into a fun unicase version. Ascenders and descenders have been traded in for alternates of letters that all share the same height. The effect is similar to using all caps, although this is quite a bit more quirky. For example, letters like the lowercase a and e are now the same height as their capital versions and the lowercase y has been raised to fit between the baseline and top height. Odd relationships such as these give Eurostile Unicase a fresh and funky feeling. Try using it for headlines and titles, then use Eurostile Next for the body text!
