Base Neue is the reincarnation of the basic typography (adaptation) of modern civilization. InkTrap is applied and many variations that can be used for this typeface, from very narrow media to extra-large publications. Weights from thin to black and then there are widths from Super Condensed to Super Expanded, which of course are all used in various media, from heading or titles to body text. Base Neue provides a total of 108 styles consisting of 782 glyphs per style. 95 different languages are supported, and it also has access to alternative letters and interesting ligatures.

Duran is a strong, versatile geometric sans with industrial quality. Inspired by technical style letterforms with simple construction, the typeface is useful in both large format and body text. Telegramo is modeled on a historic telegraph from Belgrade to Vienna 1914. The original archetypal character set consists of lowercase letters and numerals only. Uppercase letters and special characters were added after careful research. Contact pressure variations of the rudimentary type writing machine are directly imitated in the three weights: the regular weights edges are sharp, medium edges are rounded and the bold letters can nearly be called soft. Since the original typeface did not seem perfectly suitable for modern desktop publishing purposes, two additional stylistic sets were created for each weight, improving certain issues in rhythm, legibility and quirkiness.

Mundane information—the sort you might ignore—often appears in the form of very simple, utilitarian lettering, devoid of personality, the sort of industrial lettering you find on old blueprints, park restrooms, and electrical boxes. MVB Diazo is such a thing. It looks like lettering done earnestly with a plastic template. The monoline caps—constructed from straight lines and simple curves—have rounded details as if rendered by a blunt pen on a topographical survey or by a router on a rustic campground sign. The MVB Diazo fonts are compact, available in two widths: Condensed and Extra Condensed. Each width offers four weights from Light to Black. The fonts are perfect for wherever plain and boring letterforms are required. All widths and weights are also available in two distressed textures (#1 and #2) that accentuate the industrial character of the design. While in the same vein and spirit as Burgues and Compendium, Bellissima began from an entirely different thread from those fonts. It started with Alex Trochut generously showing me a gorgeous lettering book from his grandfather’s library: Bellezas de la Caligrafía, by Ramón Stirling, 1844. Stirling was one of the Latin calligraphy pioneers who introduced a refined version of English calligraphy in Spain and made it popular in the nineteenth century. Some scans from that book served as initial basis for the caps in my Poem Script. But it was always in the back of my mind that I should do a copperplate, and the Stirling model was the perfect source. My intention was to veer away from Stirling’s exuberant ornamentation, and work within simplified forms of his ideas. As it usually is with most of my projects, Bellissima became its own bird and shaped its own flying patterns. Suddenly there were many ligatures, multiple endings and swashed connections, hundreds of alternates for both uppercase and lowercase. Bellissima has an effusive energy that appeals much beyond its sourcing. It’s intended for these modern times of appreciation for old crafty things like stationery and letterpress, where its origins help it shine brightly. Life’s always more fun when you reverse the stress. The same goes for the new member of the Cabrito family. Ministry Script was designed to be “A time capsule that marks both the American ad art of the 1920s, and the current new-millennium acrobatics of digital type.” First letters of Ministry comes from a how-to lettering book but immediately turned on a complex and modern new digital typeface design with thousand glyphs. Ministry’s OpenType features include contextual and stylistic alternates, swash characters, and a galaxy of ligatures. A single face with over 1,000 characters to explore. The idea of Transport originates from text found on the large wooden boxes used for transport. Such text is still stencilled on them in the same way as the companies have done for decades, at least. That explains the typeface's name, too. If you find some similarities with Devin, you are right. Transport is nothing other than a special variant of Devin. But since the two are aimed for totally different uses, I decided to use two different names for them. Transport is a mecane and its use is primarily as a headline typeface. But in small quantities it can be used even for body setting, if special effects are desired. Transport was released in 1994.

Modérnica is a sans serif type including roman & oblique styles in 9 weights. Originally published in 2014, then in 2020 we released version 2.0, in which we expanded the language coverage and character set, adding a new Fat weight, tabular figures, smart fractions & arrows. We’ve improved the OpenType features adding new Stylistic Sets. Besides this, we have retuned the letters spacing in the whole family. Seeking for the best performance, we added a bit of spacing between letters in the text versions (middle weights from Book to Bold), while as for the display variants (extreme weights from Thin to Fat) we made them gain space in the light versions and loose it in the blacks.
