Letters that occur more often for example vowels have two or more different versions stored in the font. (➶ Figure 4) These alternative forms are exchanged automatically by the font as you type, and create a vivid look that comes close to actual handwriting. The font avoids that two identical letters are placed next to each other like, for example the two “o” in the word “look”. ➸ What Historic Sources is the Font based on? Two historic documents were used to base the font on. The notes Luther took before giving his speech in Worms in 1521 and a 6 page letter he wrote immediately after to Emperor Charles V., summarising his speech (➶ Figure 2). Both documents have been added to the UNESCO “Memory of the World” and can be seen at the Google Arts and Culture website. ➸ The Creation of a Handwriting Font The creation of a handwriting font is very different from the creation of a regular font. Harald Geisler has specialised in recreating handwriting in preceding projects with Albert Einstein’s, Sigmund Freud’s and his own handwriting. His experience working with Archives and Museums has gone into this project. First Geisler analyses the movement in the writing to understand how each letter is drawn. This involves partially learning how to write like a person. In this process not the outlines of the sample are reproduced but the original movement path of the handwriting (➶ Figure 3). In a second step width and contrast is added to reproduce Martin Luther’s characteristic impetus and the writing tools used at the time. Some Glyphs can not be found in 500 year old manuscripts, for example the @-sign. Towards the end of the creation one collects a profund amount of details about how a writer moves on paper and addresses certain tasks moving the pen. Keeping this knowledge in mind an improvisation can be based on similar letter forms. Fugues is a modern monospace display font. The typeface is made from a basic line, circle and square geometry. Fugues Regular and Italic are inspired by straight geometric shapes and Fugues Rounded and Rounded Italic are inspired by organic geometry similar to works by Antoni Gaudí and Alphonse Mucha. Approach Mono is the fixed width version of Approach. A utilitarian low contrast font, a bit mechanical but plenty of character. This version shares its main features with the original one, but it has a more prominent and visible punctuation. The more obvious use of a mono would be in tables, programming code or “in progress texts”, but not just that. Approach Mono can be used in the modern communication, bringing an aseptic voice to brochures, advertising, identities and any other piece of communication. For more details see the PDF.

The roots of this font go back to 1967. A book title in trendy letters was created in a completely ingenuous way as a film prop for a Super 8 fun film. I drew the letters with felt-tip pen and poster paint without thinking too much about it. It wasn't until a good 50 years later that I realized, this was a first awkward typeface draft. The flower power vibe was captured here subconsciously. In 2019 I completed the few glyphs and created variants that I would not have thought of at the time.

She may not be the heaviest font on the street but Thickset can throw her weight around with the best of them. Designed as a display font, Thickset is a solid slab-serif with thin counters that makes it ideal for publications like fashion and editorial magazines. But don’t get me wrong, she’s more than willing to give anything a try. Just as long as you respect her in the morning. In addition to ligatures and fractions, Thickset’s other OpenType features include old style numbers and small caps.

Street Tag vol1 is inspired from graffiti tag in urban areas in Jakarta, i also draw graffiti, tag and throw up since high school. This is originally my style, inspired from some my favourite graffiti artist, my tag style is not so tidy and i think you guys should adjust the kerning manually again, because it’s impossible to adjust them to be tidy. I also create special letter "G",“Y” and “T” in vector base, so you can edit the path as you like, combine with the original font, you can see the sample.

I have no fantastic story on how I came up the name to share with you. I am currently not in an asylum, nor will I be in the near future. I also finished this font way before midnight, so it is just a crazy name for a scary looking font! Midnight Asylum was made with a pencil and Chinese ink. It comes with a full set of alternates for the lower case letters, extensive language support and a cute .notdef character, which is also the alternate asterisk glyph.

I was listening to the radio and a song caught my attention. It was ‘Demagogue’ by a band called the Urban Dance Squad. That song brought back memories from when I was a student, so I decided to name this font after it. Demagogue was made using a Sharpie pen and a piece of expensive paper. The result is a very legible, very neat and very bold font. Demagogue is ideal for when you want to get your message across, but hopefully not in a demagogue-ish way! ;-)

Radar is a revival of the sans serif typeface “Grotesca Radio”, from the Spanish foundry Richard Gans, which existed from 1888 to 1975. His authorship is attributed to the German type designer and master punchcutter Carl Winkow. Although the new version of this font has always tried to keep accurate similarities with the original typeface, Radar is not intended as a strict revival, but as a contemporary interpretation. In this new version the user can find some alternate characters that give the typeface a more art-déco or neutral flair.

Core Bandi is a grunge 3D font supported by equivalent ‘flat’ styles named Core Bandi Face. This typeface is very cute and has rhythmic flow line, but not distracted. And you can easily make various color combination with CoreBandi & CoreBandi Face. Its really hard to find doodled 3D Korean(Hangul) fonts even in Korea because Hangul has as many as 11,172 characters. Supported codepages are MS Windows 1252 Latin1 and MS Windows 949 Korean consisting of 11,172 Korean letters and Symbols except Chinese. We recommend to use for books, magazines and posters.

An early drawing tablet was largely responsible for the LeakorLeach typefaces. They resemble hand lettering using cake icing or done with an ink pen that leaves lots of ink blobs or ink blots. The family has two widths, plain and condensed, and in addition to each having an oblique style, each also has a leftward-inclined style. There may not be many uses for a leftward-inclined typeface, but for those needing one, the LeakorLeach family offers two. The LeakorLeach typefaces are unlike any other faces from IngrimayneType.

When merely “extended” just would not do, here is Paragraph Stretch™: a super extended or elongated geometric display typeface. It is a typeface with an unicase effect: the capitals and lower case fit the same height and a similar width, so they are interchangeable: fancy a round “W” in all caps? Use the lower case. Want a straight “x” in lower case? Use the cap. And so on. Designed for use at larger sizes for logotypes, short titles or headings. It supports Western plus Nordic, Eastern European and Turkish languages.

The first cuts of Trade Gothic were designed by Jackson Burke in 1948. He continued to work on further weights and styles until 1960 while he was director of type development for Mergenthaler-Linotype in the USA. Trade Gothic does not display as much unifying family structure as other popular sans serif font families, but this dissonance adds a bit of earthy naturalism to its appeal. Trade Gothic is often seen in advertising and multimedia in combination with roman text fonts, and the condensed versions are popular in the newspaper industry for headlines.

Linotext was designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1901 and first appeared with the name Wedding Text with American Type Founders in Jersey City, where its metal forms were cut by hand. The font was so popular that its forms soon began appearing with other font foundries under different names, Elite Kanzlei with D. Stempel AG, Comtesse with C.F. Rühl, etc. Its ornamental forms are not considered very legible by today’s standards and Linotext should therefore be used for headlines and short texts in point sizes 12 or larger.

AFISH was born out of the need to create a variable serif display typeface – so that any headline on the poster would easily fit. The form of the letters comes naturally from Didone style typefaces, while many of the characters have an experimental form that will not leave the audience indifferent.
