A funny looking font with circular shapes and cutouts - both hippie and futuristic at the same time. I have completely redrawn all the glyphs, and introduced a lot of alternate and new letterforms to make a little more variety between upper- and lowercase (the original layout with all the "old" letterforms can easily be accessed by using the OpenType menus "stylistic Alternates" or "Stylistic Set SS01"). All diacritics and accents are totally new, and made large - in the style of the original dotted i. ALL fonts from CheapProFonts have very extensive language support: They contain some unusual diacritic letters (some of which are contained in the Latin Extended-B Unicode block) supporting: Cornish, Filipino (Tagalog), Guarani, Luxembourgian, Malagasy, Romanian, Ulithian and Welsh. Apparently original with the Lindsay brothers type foundry in New York shortly before they were merged into the American Type Founders Company. A few characters of the original font have been modified slightly to make them more harmonious with the rest of the alphabet.

This family was created inspired from the Garamond patern set of fonts used by S. Millanges "imprimeur ordinaire du Roy", in Bordeaux, circa 1580-1590. Especially for reprint L'instruction des curés (Instructions to parish priests), from Jean Gerson. The set contains two styles, Normal and Italic, the second one with a lot of caps and ligatures variants. The initials, except a few decorated letters (six in total) where only large caps, covering no more than three lines. Added are a few fleurons. It can be used as variously as web-site titles, posters and flyers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very elegant and legible font... This font supports strong enlargements as easily as small size (legible from 6 points when printed) remaining very smart and fine. Its original cap height is about five millimeters. Decorated letters like 1512 Initials, 1550 Arabesques, 1565 Venetian, can be used with this family without anachronism.

Here’s a warm, casual text font based on an early twentieth century work by lettering artist Elizabeth Colwell, released by American Type Founders in 1923. For this update, all four fonts have been completely redrawn, and many new characters have been added. Kaikoura is a small town on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a very pleasant, laid-back place where the mountains meet the sea. Kaikoura is also the best place in the world to spot sperm whales. Kaikoura font is quite similar in appearance: it is laid-back and beautiful, has sharp peaks and generous curves. I am still trying to find out how to add whale watching to this description… Kaikoura is an all caps font with a lower case alternative for the o and y. It comes with an ocean of diacritics.

A new font inspired by vintage hand-painted paper signs. The Doorbuster Collection is based on retro hand-painted paper signs primarily seen in grocery stores from the 1920s through the 1970s. We meticulously hand-drew each font, modeling the spacing and uneven baseline found in vintage sign painting. The purposely organic ascenders and descenders, along with a huge set of ligatures/contextual alternates to avoid the same letters repeating when paired, give it a real hand-lettered look. Doorbuster Plug is perfect for both vintage-inspired and contemporary marketing, branding, and packaging designs. It's a classic workhorse font from the 1950s thru 1970s. “Designers can’t help but be inspired by the things that surround them,” says Massif’s designer Steve Matteson. An avid mountain climber, Matteson found his inspiration for his text face family in the dramatic granite formations of North America’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most of Matteson’s type designs are custom projects designed with an end use or customer in mind. Massif, which had no customer or specific purpose, was probably his most personal typeface to date. “My goal was to embody, in Massif’s two-dimensional letterforms, the angular tension and smooth curvature characteristic of the rugged terrain of Yosemite National Park’s Half Dome, which was formed by eons of glacial and tectonic activity,” Matteson explains. The typeface’s striking design echoes the faults and fissures that define a massif formation, resulting in a rich texture when used for body text and revealing distinctive shapes and proportions at display sizes. The Massif family comes in six weights, from Light to ExtraBold, each with an italic companion. The OpenType Pro suite contains small caps, ligatures and old style figures, and offers a small set of decorative ornaments. Pro fonts also include an extended character set supporting most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

A friend once jokingly told me that what I really do is mine extinct arts for parts to use in modern things, like going to the scrapyard to pick up bumpers, quarter-panels and dashboards off of Datsuns and Ponies to build a shiny new Ferrari. I still kind of grin at that, but I certainly do spend a lot of time looking at old things and imagining ways they would work today. This shiny new Ferrari here is called Bibliophile, and it contains scrap heap parts from various pages by Louis Prang, the Prussian-American printer and publisher who inspired my Prangs fonts. This is my second engagement with the late 19th century man, and it’s quite a bit more intricate than just an italic Didone with a connected lowercase. Bibliophile marries Round Hand calligraphy with Italian capitals, two styles not often relayed in the same alphabet, but work together beautifully when combined well. When you combine them well with a few long-practised tricks of the trade, then mix in a few trusted features from my previous work over the years, you get my usual crazy exuberance, like 17 different shapes for the d, 21 different forms for the y, endings, beginnings, swashes, ornaments, and so on. It’s no secret that I can get carried away when I’m so consumed by an idea. — Bibliophile comes in 2 weights, each of them with over 900 glyphs covering all the latin languages. Bibliophile also comes with a bold weight, something I’m always reluctant to do with something as adventurous and complex as the structure of this historical mashup. But I couldn’t chase away the idea of increasing the contrast while maintaining the hairlines in a lowercase this narrow. Part of it was the curiosity about the outcome, and part was the sheer challenge of it. I think it turned out OK. Words set in either weight will show delicateness and elegance, and the more time you spend inside the font and micro-manage the setting, the more ways you will find to magnify either. Bibliophile can be as muted or luxurious as you want it to be. This is the kind of alphabet that fits well in fashion marketing and high-end packaging, from the very subdued to the super-exquisite. Enjoy the gleaming new vehicle made with freshly polished old parts.

Speakeasy is a 5-font combo thematically built as a toolset for designing menus and liquor labels as well as coffees, restaurants and signs when the desire is to communicate with style. Originally put together to be used by the most famous speakeasy in Buenos Aires, this set contains a script, a minor (almost flat) wedge serif, a flare serif, a sans serif, and a bold Didone. The seed for the script was found in a German lettering book, and the other fonts reflect the familiar advertising and announcement styles of the early 20th century. The Speakeasy script comes with two different ways to connect the letterforms. Also included are many alternates, swashes, endings and flourishes — all accessible via OpenType features or glyph palettes. Speakeasy Modern and Speakeasy Flare are small cap fonts, and come with a few alternates. Speakeasy Sans and Speakeasy Gothic come with full sets of majuscules and minuscules, but contain small caps and a few alternates as well. A few rules and ornaments are also sprinkled throughout the set. This combination of fonts worked wonderfully for the project that called for it. Hopefully it will work just as well for your project.

The Brushability is a brush-written font family that contains 9 fonts, all united by a brushy look. All fonts compliment each other perfectly and can be used either together or with many other brush-looking fonts on the market. The script contains a lot of alternates, swashes, ligatures, arrows etc. while the Extras font has quite a few design elements with the same brush look - such as arrows, frames and swashes - to add more personality to the design. The 5 sans serif fonts (ranging from Light to Black) also contain alternate glyphs for certain letters - just to make your design process even more fun. All fonts, as usual, are fully unicode mapped so you can use them in any application. Just be aware that if your application doesn’t support OpenType features, you’ll have to choose the glyphs you need manually.

It was our initial intention to develop a suitable lowercase for Les Usherwood's Elston typeface, based on a few characters from an old German typeface called Hermes Grotesque (Woellmer, Berlin). However, the new design quickly took on a life of its own, and we decided to call it ‘Creighton’.
