Since 2010 I started my research and experimentation in layered fonts, and I immediately understood that the future of creative graphic fonts is precisely the exploration of it. Over the years I have tried different expressions on the use of the layered system ... but I realized that my propensity to use colors in the font led me to the creation of BILYA. The real creative cue of BILYA is the wonderful childhood memories where nostalgia for them generated the creation of it, which I dedicate to all lovers of glass marbles classic game and beyond. BILYA Base, Outline, Color One, Two, Three, Four, Five and Color Six is a 8 font system that can be layered in different ways to create infinite title effects used commonly in poster and logo design, in flat gradient color style for spectacular 3D emboss styles or realistic 3D logos design projects. BILYA’s layer combinations give you complete control in producing styles like, modern, 3D, beveled. It can be used alone and/or in layered and allows you adjust leading and kerning. Each font contains the similar metrics, so when your title is set, copy and paste in same position to create different layers styles combinations to build out your desired effect. The main motifs of it are decorative flowers, birds, horses and even people, drawn in special way and painted in black, red, blue and green. Redshift is sans with 12 upright weights and 12 oblique weights. Its a soft edged, spaced out offering from Rocket Type. It supports most extended Latin languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Polish and Portuguese. The name redshift means the displacement of spectral lines toward longer wavelengths (the red end of the spectrum) in radiation from distant galaxies and celestial objects. The original concept behind the font was that I wanted to create a massive heavy sans which would give the sense of tranquility within the user not unlike watching an object float through space. Redshift was designed by Dathan Boardman during 2016. Strongly rooted in the tradition of other notable geometric sans faces however much attention was paid to create a soothing experience for reading both large and small bodies of text. Each letter was painstakingly modified for optimal readability and warmth. Redshift was designed with the intent to create the ultimate bold header font. From there I wanted create the lighter weights to be readable when set within large bodies of text. Redshift works great for body headers & text as well as for logo design. What intrigued me about Buslingthorpe was the virtuoso challenge it presented, of designing a typeface that would, despite a ridiculously tiny x-height, still possess a coherent harmony betwen upper and lower case, and read confortably. At the same time, beyond pure plastic formality, I was aware that there are strong connotations of historicism in this noble style, with overtones of regal magnificence, on account of the extravagant leading and generous point size required for adequate visibility—in traditional letterpress printing such proportions, with so few characters per square inch, were pricey and devoured resources. There are two iconic early 20th century designs in the genre: Koch Antiqua (Rudolf Koch, Klingspor Foundry, 1922) and Lucian (Lucian Bernhard, Bauer Foundry, 1925). Both these have x-heights smaller than fifty percent of ascender height, which nominally defines the category.
