Letterhead Studio makes both fonts and design with own fonts. The studio is started in 1998 by Yuri Gordon, Valery Golyzhenkov and Olga Vassilkova. We work in graphic design, branding and type design. Our collection of Cyrillic fonts includes more than 330 faces, generally it is display fonts. Letterhead is one of leading developers of custom-made fonts, lettering and digital calligraphy in Russia. Among clients of studio are magazines like Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ, Empire, Interni, Harpers Bazaar. Also we develop corporate fonts, more often for banks. Letterhead co-operated with Gazprombank, Rosbank, the Alpha-group, Trust, Menatep, Orgres-Nordea and others.

Heinz is inspired by the poster design of Heinz Schulz-Neudamm for Fritz Lang’s famous silent movie Metropolis. Heinz Schulz-Neudamm did quite a lot of work for the German branches of big American movie companies like 20th Century Fox or MGM. His most famous work is probably the title lettering for the Metropolis movie. The original drawing for that poster sold in 2005 in London for 398.000 Pound Sterling (approx. US $ 600.000). On the Town JNL is a reworking of Parks Department JNL, giving it a classic "solid black Art Deco treatment". The wide monoline font of the original design was inspired by hand lettering on a WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster. Art Deco typography and the streamlined style it embraced often conjures up images of New York City in the 1930s and 1940s, thus On the Town JNL is named for the classic MGM musical starry Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Jules Munchen that was filmed on location in "the city that never sleeps".

Elena Albertoni on Dyna: “While studying in Paris, I worked for a design studio specialized in packaging. French supermarkets are full of lettering with a handwriting flavor, which seems to go very well with a wide range of very different products. With the aim to analyze and summarize the qualities of these letterings in one typeface, I faced choices and limits similar to the ones encountered with handwriting. The letters are sloped at different angles, which gives them rhythm; their open shapes suggest movement and gesture. Letters want to dance!” Dyna Pro’s extended character set provides support for a wide range of European languages that share the Latin and Cyrillic scripts. Churchward Maori is the second of a series of eight Maori style typefaces designed by New Zealand type designer Joseph Churchward, and released by BluHead Studio, LLC. Churchward Maori infuses standard Latin glyph forms with traditional Maori decorative elements to create a wildly organic design.
