The typeface Fry was developed in 2008 specially for the Sky-Fish company (fish and seafood dealer). Type is designed for small texts, it has friendly and fairytale historic flavor. Fry takes openness and dynamism of humanistic sans serif, simple and softness of lubok's letters (primitive style) and fluidity of shallow marine fry. Despite of funny style, Fry works well even in the 5 point size. In large sizes Fry demonstrates its originality, vivacity and softness, in the small characteristics become less visible, and Fry's readability becomes more important. So this makes the typeface suitable for many tasks of typography. The typeface includes extended set of Latin, old style and lining figures, historical alternates and special local features. The combination of lubok's aesthetics and funny dynamic forms make a nature of Fry. Fry was exhibited at the Svjato Kyrylyci (Kharkov, Ukraine) festival in 2008. It was awarded for excellence in type and graphic design at Modern Cyrillic 2009 competition. Fry was selected among 50 typefaces for the Call for type exhibition in the Gutenberg museum (2013).

Jazmo is an offspring of an assignment I did for a Dutch architect. A classic building and coincidently the place of my studio in my hometown Zwolle, Netherlands, needed to be renovated. My job was to design the house numbers and signs for this building. This building I refer to was built in 1932 and designed according to the ‘New objectivity’ architecture. Now it accommodates several artist and craftsmen and also houses students. In my design I used elements of the Art Nouveau, which is related to the ‘New Objectivity’. Words as stately, angular, linear, stylish, artful, playful and frolic came to mind. It should be a design with a hint of the past and a flirt with the future. This house numbering is the root wherefrom Jazmo arises. The name Jazmo cites to the Jazz scene, which was a new and very popular artistic influence that time and age and is still a vibrant source of musical renewal. Mo stands for my Name Marit Otto. Together with my intern Arie Blok I created the missing characters and completed the font. Welcome Jazmo!

Opa-locka JNL is named for a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida and is based on an Art Nouveau-era bit of hand lettering found on vintage sheet music. Legendary aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss (who successfully developed the city of Miami Springs and the city of Hialeah with James Bright) began the development of Opa-locka around 1925 as a planned community with a "1001 Arabian Nights" theme. Plans for this exclusive community included a country club and a small private airfield, but the hurricane of 1926 derailed Curtiss' original vision of the city. Opa-locka gradually took shape as a residential area for middle-class families, but the closing of a long-established Marine base, changing demographics and a reputation for being a hot-spot for crime, drug abuse and corruption tarnished this once-grand community (which boasts the largest collection of Moorish Revival architecture in the Western hemisphere). Old-time Miamians bristle when the city's name (an abbreviation of a Seminole place name, spelled Opa-tisha-wocka-locka) is mis-spelled as "Opa-Locka", "Opa Locka" or "Opalocka". The correct name is hyphenated, and the second part is in lower case.

There is no doubt that the 1941 version of “The Maltese Falcon” was superior to the prior two attempts by Warner Brothers at filming Dashiell Hammett’s 1930 novel. Sam Spade was perfectly portrayed by Humphrey Bogart, and the supporting cast of Mary Astor, Peter Lorre, Sidney Greenstreet and Elisha Cook, Jr. rounded out the main players in a great suspense film that is considered to be the first (if not one of the first) of the film noir genre. The title cards for the production and cast credits were hand-lettered in a spurred serif type style strongly reminiscent of the Art Nouveau period, so instead of naming the digital version with some “tough guy detective” moniker, it was decided that Detective Client JNL was more appropriate. After all, this is a reasonably attractive font, and in this kind of film it’s usually the “attractive damsel in distress” [be she the victim or the actual perpetrator] that gets the story rolling… Detective Client JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Maressy works perfectly for logos, display, product branding, wedding invitation card, stationary, packaging, clothing, flyer, apparel, magazines, brochures, lable, posters, badges, etc. Maressy comes with 241 glyphs and 26 alternate characters contain with opentype features. Maressy also comes with 10 standard ligatures that allowing you to make stuff looks more exclusive and pro standard. You can access all those alternate characters by using OpenType savvy programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and CorelDraw X6-X7, Microsoft Word 2010 or later versions. There are additional ways to access alternates/swashes, using Character Map (Windows), Nexus Font (Windows), Font Book (Mac) or a software program such as PopChar (for Windows and Mac). Designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli with Maria Chiara Fantini, Lovelace is Zetafonts homage to the tradition of nineteenth century “Old Style” typography - a revival of Renaissance hand-lettered shapes driven by the desire to create a less formal and more friendly alternative to Bodonian serifs. While taking inspiration from the letter shapes created by Pheimester or Alexander Kay - with their calligraphic curves and heavy angled serifs that influenced Benguiat and Goudy’s typefaces in the 70s - we also tried to add elegance and contrast by following another 19th century revival style: the Elzevir. This digital homage to victorian typography, aptly named after the algorist daughter of lord Byron, is developed in two optical sizes, both in a six weights range from extralight to extrabold. The text variant offers maximum readability thanks to the generous x-height and screen-friendly design, while the display variant excels in the sharp contrast and thin details needed for editorial and large-size titling use. The italics, strongly influenced by calligraphy, have been complemented with a display script family, including luscious swashes and connected lowercase letters, lovingly designed by Zetafont in-house calligrapher. All the thirty weights of Lovelace cover over 200 languages that use latin, cyrillic and greek alphabets, and include advanced Open Type features as Stylistic Alternates, Standard and Discretionary Ligatures, Positional Numerals, Small Caps and Case Sensitive Forms.

Rufolo is a family of fonts that can be considered both aesthetic and utilitarian. It has an apparent serif, barely hinted at, whose clear past reference is a beautiful epigraphic script on the marble plate placed at the southern entrance of the Roman amphitheatre, in Pompeii. Perhaps its origin dates back to Ugarit's cuneiform writing (as Morrison suggests as the origin of the serif in "Politics and Scripts") whose characteristic triangular-shaped incision footprint produces a powerful trait that not only gives character to the writing but also facilitates its support and visual compensation of sizes with neighboring signs. Other clear inspirational references have been Robert Hunter Middleton's Stellar (1929); Albertus (1932) by William A. Dwiggins; Optima (1952) by Hermann Zapf; And more recently RRollie (2016) by our foundry. Rufolo collects the attractive characteristic of the stroke endings but the proportions of its structure becomes much more regular, the capitals are in line with a constant square module, while the above references retain the proportions of the Roman Trajan. Some endings strokes have slightly baroque reminiscence with the intention of giving it greater plasticity and aesthetic enrichment, but absolutely controlled, taking special care of the aspects of readability and expressive neutrality. Rufolo Family comes in four weight: Light, Regular, Bold and Black, accompanied by its corresponding Italic versions.

Since 2010 I started my research and experimentation in layered fonts, and I immediately understood that the future of creative graphic fonts is precisely the exploration of it. Over the years I have tried different expressions on the use of the layered system ... but I realized that my propensity to use colors in the font led me to the creation of BILYA. The real creative cue of BILYA is the wonderful childhood memories where nostalgia for them generated the creation of it, which I dedicate to all lovers of glass marbles classic game and beyond. BILYA Base, Outline, Color One, Two, Three, Four, Five and Color Six is a 8 font system that can be layered in different ways to create infinite title effects used commonly in poster and logo design, in flat gradient color style for spectacular 3D emboss styles or realistic 3D logos design projects. BILYA’s layer combinations give you complete control in producing styles like, modern, 3D, beveled. It can be used alone and/or in layered and allows you adjust leading and kerning. Each font contains the similar metrics, so when your title is set, copy and paste in same position to create different layers styles combinations to build out your desired effect. BILYA works great in any graphics application that allows you to utilize layers or 3D graphics effects.

Kuschelfraktur is a unique, eye-catching take on the theme of blackletter that replaces the broad nib with a brush pen and achieves stroke modulation through stencil-like gaps. It combines the texture and dignity of blackletter with the human warmth of informal handwriting. Kuschelfraktur offers five separate sets of capital letters and several additional customization option via stylistic alternates. The degree of ornamentation in the blackletter capitals can be increased (SS02) or decreased (SS07), while SS04 and SS05 offer two simpler approaches to capital letters that bridge from blackletter to Roman letters (Antiqua). The default single-storey �a� can be replaced with a two-storey version in SS01, and SS08 offers a single-storey capital �A� for the simple capitals. Finally, SS03 restores some of the more unique letter shapes of the Fraktur style of blackletter. The old-style figures can be replaced with lining and/or tabular figures. All these stylistic sets are accessible via OpenType from the main font, Kuschelfraktur, whereas the spin-off fonts (Traditional, Verziert, Text, Schlicht, Antiqua) offer convenient access to those sets even in environments without OpenType support.
