Brouillard means ‘fog’ in French. I like the ‘oui’ letter combination and I was looking for a name for this font that contained those letters. I found Brouillard and presto: a new font was born! Brouillard font was handmade with a Japanese pen. It is an elegant, curvy and quite stylish font with a bit of a roughness to it - just enough to catch your attention. All three styles come with a load of diacritics.

FT Drobbs is inspired by the Didot font group, known for its neoclassical style reminiscent of the Age of Enlightenment. The font includes a combination of very narrow and very wide lines. FT Drobbs features increased contrast between wide and narrow lines and includes rich teardrop endings. I love to watch how the lines bend, how they move, expanding or going into the thickness of the hair. I love their graceful beauty. FT Drobbs is not alphabetic, but it contains numbers, a set of basic currency symbols, and a few typographic characters. It is suitable for use as accents in labels, posters and infographics.

India Echo was simply derived from doodling on a whiteboard with a dry erase marker. The aim of the exercise was to create a string of writing that looked foreign enough to be an alien script, angular enough to appear to be futuristic, and familiar enough to be legible.

This is the classic English Script. Completely drawn by hand with a classic pen and then scanned and worked over just enough to keep that handmade touch. I didn't want this to look perfect, there are enough versions of this font that are way too slick.

ITC Out of the Fridge is the work of German designer Jochen Schuss. Its forms look as though they were scratched on rough paper with a pen. ITC Out of the Fridge is, in the designer's own words, fresh and cool", and works well where something modern yet "proper" is desired."

Conference is a bold, playful sans serif, which was designed in 1978 by Martin Wait. Conference's letters are very curvaceous; many of them bulge lovingly outward from their centers. Linoset was created from cut and printed linoleum. The lettering is based on Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold – it has been cut, printed and re-drawn to take on a completely new life – it's rough, tough and downright nasty!

Linotype Zensur is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This fun font was created by French designer Gérarld Alexandre and contains one weight. The characters look as though parts of each of them were censored or removed, leaving just enough left over to know what was meant. The basic forms of this font are sans serif and the rounded corners give it an almost soft character. Linotype Zensur is a distinctive typeface which is especially good for headlines in larger point sizes.

Linotype Vision is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Created by German designer Dan-André Neimeyer, the font contains five weights. The characters look as though they are constructed of fragments fitted only loosely together. Just enough of each character is put onto paper so that the eye of the reader can complete the conventional form. Based loosely on sans serif forms, the font has a futuristic, mathematical feel. This is my roughly handprinted typewrite-ish font. It has all the cool and classic moves of the traditional typewriter look, but with a more rough attitude due to the contextual alternates (which offer 6 different versions of each letter!)

LD Adornment is a perfect font when you'd like 'just enough' of a special addition to your lettering.

Strobos was designed by Vince Whitlock, who used the Corinthian typeface as a model. It is a dramatic, high-tech alphabet which is most effective in large display sizes. Strobos is a sans serif typeface whose characters are surrounded with details which make each letter look as though it is shaking, spinning, or otherwise constantly moving.

This cute, fun handwriting font is fresh and youthful. It has just enough quirkiness to be sassy but is still completely legible.

Mystical Woods is a script and caps font duo. I went back to the basics for this one -- ink and a brush on paper. I cleaned up the letters enough so that there are no jagged edges, but left enough of the character to keep that inky look -- those are the Rough fonts. Then I went back through again and cleaned the heck out of them, making every line and curve smooth for our cut-crafting friends -- those are the Smooth fonts. Since these two fonts were written together with the same tools and style, you can also mix the script letters in with the caps letters! Each font comes with a full set of standard characters and punctuation, as well as over 300 extended Latin characters for language support. And the script fonts also have 45 double-letter ligatures!

Yoko is a straightforward font with a straightforward message, and an interesting finish. Yoko wants you to enjoy life, live to your fullest and be happy. Yoko understands that it doesn’t look easy, but it can be, and you can achieve it. Straight lines and perfect corners make Yoko’s messages come across simply and openly. There’s no fancy flourishes in what you say with this font, just a goal and a solution. That’s not to say it’s dull though, because the textured finish gives Yoko a depth that carries its own form of weight. The solid impact of the shapes and the rough texture of the finish make Yoko’s message stand out, whatever you choose to say with it.

Kabouter (kaːˈbɑu̯.tər) means ‘gnome’ in Dutch. I have no particular love for gnomes (even though I have a font called Garden Gnome…), but this font had a fairytale feeling to it and the name looked good. Kabouter is a happy display font. It is fun, bouncy and quirky. Use it for your book covers, toy-packaging and home made apple sauce labels. Besides that, you now know how to say gnome in Dutch, which will leave your friends astounded! ;-)

Initially created for use in a logo and with a limited number of characters, Edgewater evolved into a full typeface suitable for everything from projects requiring a space-age, futuristic feel to logotype for the most refined, conservative corporations. Edgewater was joined in November, 2008, by Edgewater Hairline, which supports more than 30 languages and is especially attractive in larger point sizes. The hairline version also is a nice complement to the other fonts in the Edgewater series, though still striking enough to stand on its own as the dominant visual in a virtually unlimited number of displays.
