🏆 Selected for the 12th Biennial of Brazilian Graphic Design. Graviola Soft is a juicy type family. It is based on our Graviola typeface, but we didn’t just round its corners. We redrew every stem and terminal so they would look just right. Combined with curved diagonal strokes and alternate glyphs, Graviola Soft makes for a super friendly typeface. The family consists of 16 fonts, from Thin to Black and matching italics. While the intermediate ones work for body text, the extreme weights look specially beautiful at display sizes. Each font contains 530+ glyphs, supporting more than 90 languages. Stylistic sets provide alternates in two groupings (a, v, w, y and G, g, &). We think Graviola Soft works best on packaging, logotypes and headlines, but we’re eager to see what else you can do with it.

According to designer David Farey, Cachet is a monospaced, monostroke typeface -- that isn't."" Why the sleight of hand? Typefaces that are limited to a single character and stroke width suffer in terms of legibility. Farey's goal in drawing Cachet was to create a typeface that gives the illusion of monospacing, while delivering a subliminal dose of reader-friendliness. At first glance, Cachet appears to be constructed of straight and nearly-straight strokes. A closer look, however, reveals several subtleties. Curved strokes have an almost calligraphic spontaneity. Places where character strokes meet are tapered slightly, while stroke ends have been flared. These quiet deviations from geometric uniformity give the design a human, organic, and decidedly non-digital look. An added benefit is that the subtle design modulation benefits readability. Farey's subtle design modulation results in a legible and highly usable new typeface.

The Seol Sans design offers a fresh palette for designers working with the Korean alphabet, particularly those looking to pair Latin and Korean alphabet (or Hangul) forms without creating typographic friction. The choices for Hangul fonts that work well with humanist Latin typefaces are limited. As Monotype’s first original Korean design, the Seol Sans typeface is a humanist take on the traditional rigid and hard designs of Hangul characters. The Seol Sans design more closely resembles the natural curve of hand-written characters. Seol Sans features Neue Frutiger for its Latin glyphs, and works harmoniously with Neue Frutiger World and Monotype’s CJK typefaces Tazugane Info (Japanese) and M XiangHe Hei (Chinese). Pontina is the name of a multilingual didone typeface. Its elegant character is built up of playful and lively strokes combined with high ascenders and high capital letters, that gives the classical forms a modern individual touch. It combines both: legibility and an ornamental curvy look for display purposes. The typeface provides true italic fonts for each weight, which fit harmoniously to the regular fonts. Pontina can be used for headlines and also works well in smaller text sizes. The text styles have slightly lower capitals and ascenders for better legibility. Also the font comes along with a set of different ligatures as well as swash letters and all necessary open-type features.

Firmin Didot cut the first modern face about 1784 in Paris; Giambattista Bodoni followed prolifically on his heels; his punches and matrices survive in Parma. Bauer has produced the most faithful and delicate contemporary version of his types.

Structurally inspired by Modern font, Abula is distinctive for its two options: Original Slab Serif and Organic Slab Serif. The Latter is special for it illustrates the designer’s attempt to genetically modify the font. Beginning with the original structure, a humanist twist is incorporated into the serif adding the presence of curvy lines that shatter the solidity of the geometric form of the font. Another distinctive feature of Abula is the Ball Terminal at the upper curve of the letters such as ‘a, c, r and s.’ The results of Typesketchbook’s investigation give birth to a unique pair of the fonts, Original Slab Serif and Organic Slab Serif, that while stemming from the same structure, offer a different visual vibe and feel. Ekeras V2 Inline is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. Primarily a display, this extremely versatile font has generous proportions, large counters and loose fitting which also allow the font to work well across a wide range of text sizes. The entire font has an original look which is strong, dynamic, machine generated and can be widely used in publications and advertising. Ekeras is a futuristic, techno-looking and dynamic typeface with an appearance of machined-like parts with sharp and rounded edges. The large Pro font character set supports most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

Doodled, whimsical, curly "capitals" (some of which are lowercase styles) are paired with unicase lowercase letters in a playful mix of capital and lowercase styles.

A WPA (Works Progress Administration) sponsored Water Carnival taking place in Central Park in the 1930s had "Department of Parks, City of New York" in the thin Art Deco hand lettering which is now available as Parks Department JNL.

Before 1959, in pre-Castro Havana, Cuba, the preeminent nightclub was the Tropicana. During the regime of Fulgencio Batista, Cuba was resplendent with nightclubs and gambling casinos catering to [mostly] the North American tourists; which brought it the title of the Monte Carlo of the Americas. Although Cuba (and the world as a whole) has changed vastly over the decades, the hand-lettered logo of the Tropicana Night Club has survived, and has been reproduced as a complete digital font called Tropicano JNL (a slight twist to the club's name). At first the font seems to be awkward, crude and amateurish, but in taking a second look, there's a playful charm to it. Additionally, this font can double as a "spooky" font for the Halloween season, monster parties and in other similar themes.
