Since the release of these fonts most typefaces in the Scangraphic Type Collection appear in two versions. One is designed specifically for headline typesetting (SH: Scangraphic Headline Types) and one specifically for text typesetting (SB Scangraphic Bodytypes). The most obvious differentiation can be found in the spacing. That of the Bodytypes is adjusted for readability. That of the Headline Types is decidedly more narrow in order to do justice to the requirements of headline typesetting. The kerning tables, as well, have been individualized for each of these type varieties. In addition to the adjustment of spacing, there are also adjustments in the design. For the Bodytypes, fine spaces were created which prevented the smear effect on acute angles in small typesizes. For a number of Bodytypes, hairlines and serifs were thickened or the whole typeface was adjusted to meet the optical requirements for setting type in small sizes. For the German lower-case diacritical marks, all Headline Types complements contain alternative integrated accents which allow the compact setting of lower-case headlines.

The idea of Limes emerged at the seashore last year in late summer. Getting ready in advance for a dark winter, we've decided to design a special fontfamily which would bring a bit of vitamins and summer sun into the rough everyday routine and help us survive the cold winter. Limes is both a dream of the sun while it’s gone and a refreshing breeze for the time when it finally gets warm! Limes is a completely handwritten fontfamily and consists of 23 typefaces. To create Limes Sans and Limes Slab families, we've used regular watercolor brushes, and to create monolinear Limes Script, as well as for Catchwords and Dingbats, we've used a felt-tip pen with circular section. Limes Sans and Limes Slabs fonts work perfectly together with Limes Script due to the general handwritten idea, as well as due to the widths contrast – despite its width, Limes Script mixes well with narrower opponents and adds a bit of human spontaneity into the general handwritten concept. The Limes collection includes: Limes Sans (Thin, Light, Regular, Bold, Black & italics), Limes Slab (Thin, Light, Regular, Bold, Black & italics), Limes Script, Catchwords and Dingbats. This is a display/ornamental font and it was made in 2009, it's meant for decorative use and not in large bodies of text. For example it does well used as a headline font. It is proportionally spaced and uppercase only.

The name is a very obscure reference to the old Star Wars expanded universe, when a force-sensitive droid self destructed in order for Uncle Owen to purchase R2-D2.

The year 2022 went and 2023 came. I can honestly say that last year was a horrible year and I am happy it ended a couple of days ago. The first week after New Year’s Eve always fills my head with the U2 song ‘New Year’s Day’ - so I named this font after a line from the lyrics. I also happened to watch a fantastic movie called ‘Im Westen Nights Neues’, directed by Edward Berger, but based on a book by Erich Maria Remarque, which, in English, was published as ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. So there you have it: naming a font in 2 easy steps! ;-) All Is Quiet is a lovely brush font, which I created using my father in law’s Chinese pencil and ink. I can suggest some uses here, but I am convinced you can come up with that yourself.

A September 29, 1920 edition of The San Diego Union ran the headline “Cicotte Confesses Baseball Fraud; Eight White Sox Players Indicted”. The White Sox baseball scandal was the first to reveal illegal gambling on the game. However, the headline itself was set in a bold slab serif type style [likely ATF Foster] which served as the model for Good Reporting JNL; which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A vintage matchbook advertising the New York Liquor Mart – oddly enough, located in Chicago, Illinois – featured a pen and ink line drawing of the store’s exterior. The Art Deco lettering on the mansard was portrayed with a straight left shadow (as opposed to drop cast or extruded), making for an interesting multi-line typeface design. This is now digitally available as Packaged Goods JNL.

Yard Goods JNL is another typeface derived from a sign making outfit consisting of a series of stencils manufactured by the Display Material Company of St. Paul Minnesota. This clean and casual sans design embodies the hand-lettering of 1920s and 30s era show cards, price tickets and display signs.
