Plener is a type family of layered fonts available in four weights: Light, Regular, Bold, and Heavy. The properties of layered fonts are matched with the classical type family structure, which makes Plener specific. The letters have humanist origins, interpreted expressively with short brush strokes separated in layers. These humanist forms keep the text set in Plein Air surprisingly legible. Layer structure allows the user to play with colors and transparency, giving the text a more personal feel. Plener comes in two additional styles, made of layers from the Light and Heavy weight. These new, display styles, named Plener LLH and Plener LHH are separated from the main family. To make the work easier, we created basic fonts out of merged layers (for every weight and style). We recommend users to set the text using these basic fonts first, then apply an opacity value lower than 100%. When satisfied, copy the text on multiple layers, changing the font to Layer A, B, and C. Apply a unique color to the text on each layer or use the same color but different opacity value. Plener fonts have the following features: ligatures, oldstyle figures, proportional and tabular lining figures, fractions, etc. Besides, there are fifteen dingbats set as discretionary ligatures. The two Kwodsity fonts are derived from Kwersity, a narrow, blocky typeface with slab serifs and a high x-height. In Kwodsity Up the bottom edges and bottom serifs have been thickened, while in Kwodsity Down the top edges and serifs have been thickened.

Under the commission of the American Century Magazine"", Linn Boyd Benton designed a new text typeface in 1894 with a design typical of the Neorenaissance movement in typography. Morris Fuller Benton produced various interpretations of this font for American Typefounders and the companies Linotype, Intertype and Monotype quickly took up the typeface. New Century Schoolbook font is a very legible font, fairly narrow and with relatively little stroke contrast. This font is from Morris F. Benton and appeared in 1915.

Meltifex is a heavy font with melting letters, disappearing at the bottom.

This quirky charmer is based on a typeface originally called Century, which appeared in the Boston Type Foundry's 1898 specimen book. This version includes many of the ornaments and accents included with the original font, as well as alternate versions of lowercase e and o. The PC PostScript, TrueType and OpenType versions contain the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

The Boston Type Foundry called the pattern for this elegant typeface "Moslem," suggesting the exotic appeal of faraway lands. The face succeeds in fulfilling its promise, with remarkably little extraneous fussiness. The font's name suggests that it's a wise choice for headlines which tout the lure of distant charms. Both versions of the font include complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1524 character sets, with localization for Moldovan, Romanian and Turkish.

Centennial appeared in 1986 in honor of Linotype’s 100th birthday. The roman and light cuts of the font are reminiscent of the Century typeface, particularly on that of Linn B. Benton and Morris F. Benton, designed around the turn of the 19th century for the American Type Founders. Like Century, Centennial too embodies a cool, reserved neutrality.

This font was designed by blocks, square glyphs. Terminals/crossbars of some glyphs can be extended in a way that you can customize the text of your design by using the selection bars in "variable font" button. That button will appear in the text editor of your program, if such option is available, like in recente illustrator and photoshop.

Designed by Morris Fuller Benton 1913-15, this Oldstyle family was digitized by Jim Rimmer in the early 2000's. It is a roman face closely styled to that of Nicholas Jensen's with a companion italic in the style of Aldus Manutius. Benton considered Cloister the ideal typeface and it does indeed lend itself to many uses.

Vanitas is an elegant high contrast contemporary sans. It is rooted in the style of a classic didone, excluding the typical serifs and ball terminals as well as being designed with a cleaner, more reductionist appearance. Strict attention was given to the cohesiveness and balance between letterforms as well as the careful refinement of all curves. Stylistically, Vanitas’ alluring, sophisticated sensibility is directly inspired by high fashion. The upright styles are complimented by a pairing of optically adjusted true italics, which were purposefully adapted to retain the sharpness of their counterparts. Abandoning traditionally executed cursive italic letterforms retains Vanitas’ sharp characteristic through each style. The Ayes have it! The 1909 specimen catalog from the H. C. Hansen Type Foundry of Boston contained a lovely decorative face named Congress, which is the pattern for this font. It's a winning choice for distinctive headlines, and the uppercase letters are also suitable by themselves for use as decorative initials. The PC Postscript, Truetype and Opentype versions contain the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Historical elegance finds its place in the digital era with Reliquaire AOE. Reliquaire AOE is the historical revival and elaboration of the "Memorial" typeface created by Boston Type Foundry in January of 1881. What began as a basic character set of Capitals, lowercase, numerals, and a small handful of punctuation characters has been expanded to a full character set including unlimited fractionals, superiors & inferiors, ordinals, tabular & proportional figures, and an expanded language glyph set. History has found new life.

A stencil font you won't find anywhere else of limited glyph characters at the rock bottom price. Enjoy!

Originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1925, FontHaus's 1995 revival is based on a design named "Novelty Broadway". Characters were referenced from "Commercial Art of Show Card Lettering" by James Eisenberg, published by D. Van Nostrand Company in 1945. This Broadway is classic Broadway but with some charming differences such as a slanted lower case "f" a remarkable lower case "g" and a high-waisted upper case case "R", as only a few examples. It was named "Novelty" because the alphabet incorporated a concave design feature in the tops and bottoms of each letter. These differences allow this version to possess much more personality than that of all other Broadway designs on the market. It looks almost hand brushed, has soft edges and is no where near as sterile looking as all the other digital versions. It feels very 1925!

The bold weight is credited to Morris Fuller Benton (ATF 1916), but it is highly probable that Benton did the adaptation for both weights. Linex Sweet was designed by Albert Boton in the late 1990s. It's a smallish family of three weights; the middle weight has an italic companion face. With its soft corners and slightly quirky head-serifs, Linex Sweet is a friendly design that sees much use.

Steve Jackaman. In the early 1980's, Steve worked at Typographic House in Boston, Massachusetts. At the time, 'Typo' House, as it was affectionately known, was the largest type house in New England. This font was designed and produced during his tenure. The design was so popular that it became available commercially through VGC, and was known as TH Alphabet Soup. Completely redrawn and remastered, Alphabet Soup Pro contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.

Century is typical of the neorenaissance movement in typography at the end of the 19th century. Morris Fuller Benton drew a number of versions of the font for the font foundry, American Typefounders, and Century was later taken up by the firms Linotype, Intertype and Monotype.
