The source of inspiration for MFC Petworth Monogram is a specimen from the 1917 "Strong's Book of Designs". This popular lettering style has been incorporated into numerous film type foundries of the past, but lacked digital permanence. We've expanded the original All Capitals glyphset to include smallcaps to make monograms, and have added numerals and basic punctuation for extended basic typesetting. The redefinition of a classic In the 1920s the Viennese government decided to standardize the street signs across the city. A typeface was especially constructed for the purpose. It was available in a Heavy and a Bold Condensed version, to support short street names as well as longer ones. As the years went by, the typeface was adopted and redrawn by several enamel factories. These adaptations lead to variations on the design, and to the fact that there isn’t a Viennese street sign font but 16 – in part severely – different versions. Henriette is not a digitization of any of those versions; rather, it is influenced by all of them. The italic versions are completely original and designed to accompany the Roman.

Honesty is sans serif font with flared stems. As such, it belongs to the incise genre which is historically inspired by the roman civilisation and letters carved in granite or marble. One of the major example of it is the Trajan’s Column in Rome which inspired a font called Trajan, designed by Carol Twombly in 1989. Honesty is also inspired by more brutal font such as the Albertus, designed in 1938 by Berthed Wolpe, and its shape is highly influence by the work of the hammer. Acid Green has quite a psychedelic flair, but its origins are from long before the sixties psychedelia. Its roots date back to 1914, from an unnamed alphabet by J.M. Bergling, the amazing jewelry engraver and 'letterform inventor'—as he considered himself—whose books of art alphabets and lettering influenced countless artists, including, not surprisingly, those involved with the genesis of Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Perfect for multiple display uses, including retro designs and trippy letterings, Acid Green has an extensive character set, with multilingual support covering 208 languages. There are yet some handy stylistic alternatives for some extra grooviness. Acid Green is somewhat retro looking, for sure, but it can sound perfectly contemporary too.
