The freeflowing and quite feminine style of this script appealed to me, but it needed a bit of taming. It's 1984 and everything has sideburns. Shoulder-padded "dress for success" is in, with power suits for women, black and white layers for men, neon brights for the youngsters. Maggie's "enemy within" and "no society" speeches preface the arrival of shopping malls and corporate status symbols. The economy is a philosophy and accountants carry ambiguous but very sophisticated-sounding titles. Thousands of words and expressions are reduced to initials or monosyllabic sounds. Synthesizers are very refined and the music is very catchy. The Macintosh and MTV are making waves. Brands are lifestyles. "Yuppy," Yummy," "Bobo," "Dinky" and "Woopie" are standard consumer categories in advertising lingo. The Volkswagen identity, only 5 years old now, is all the rage in design. VAG Rundschrift, by all appearances a rounded and slightly condensed Futura, is everywhere. Tube design is king. Fast forward two dozen years. Replay, but bigger and much louder. Fab. Let's dance. Fab is Canada Type's tribute to the Eighties. It's a five-font unicase family that brings tube design into the 21st century. The main font is an all-in-one treatment of the shiny roundness that the 1980s were. Fab White is a tightly packed thick outline font that conveys luscious contentedness like nothing else. The Fab Trio package is very useful for layered and colorful design, with the Black style serving as a backdrop, the Bold style as the front forms, and the Fill style for inlining. Fab comes in all popular formats and contains support for Western, Central and Eastern European languages, as well as Baltic, Esperanto, Maltese, Turkish and Celtic/Welsh languages.

Gothamburg is a blackletter or square gothic face. The shapes of many of the letters were inspired by sets of letters in Oscar Ogg’s The 26 Letters (Thomas Y. Crowell Company, 1963, 1948) illustrating the gothic style of the middle ages. The Plain and Bold versions differ not just in pen width, but also in pen angle. The Plain version has less contrast between the thin and thick strokes. The ShadowedInside style has the letter shapes of the plain style but the spacing of the shadowed style. It can be layered with the shadowed style to easily create two-color lettering.

Diversa is a typeface that takes a very different path from the most fonts, both in terms of appearance and usability. Diversa is a single typeface with 9 fonts within, containing 2760 glyphs*, divide in 9 stylistic sets, but the main difference is that all the glyphs are kerned with each other, which means you can swap glyphs between stylistic sets and keep them properly kerned - unbracketed serifs, bracketed serifs, engraved, stencil, sans, slab, baroque, stencil sans, stencil slab and a stylistic set that mixes them all in a rotative feature. Diversa: Because uniformity sucks! *requires applications which have Open Type access/features.

Kerning is prepared as single ('flat') table for maximum possible compatibility with older software.

Originally I called this font YearInYearOutYoureInUrine, but I was told that that name was too long and maybe not in good taste. I settled for WaterCloset when it was first released, but then renamed it with a more appropriate title. It is caps only but the letters on the lower-case keys differ from those on the upper-case keys. It comes with a large assortment of accented letters to support most European languages. Although you certainly would not want to use it for formal invitations, when bad taste is called for, it might be ideal.

It is the point that creates the expression from the writer via the pen unto the paper. The artist guides the point in unique ways to not only communicate, but also to make the resulting expression unique. The point can take the form of a quill or a marker or a pencil or chalk or a fountain pen or a chisel or a brush. What's so funny about that? With the lowercases of Festivo Letters Font Family, Festivo LC comes with new sketches, new shadows and also ornaments. The kernings and the metrics of Festivo LC Fonts are not the same as Festivo Letters' kernings and metrics. It is advised not to use them together. Drawn by master German calligrapher Hermann Zapf in the 1970s, Noris Script captures the magic of the irregularities of pen strokes. The idea behind Noris Script was to bring the spontaneity of a quick handwritten script using a broad-edged pen into the modern typesetting environment. Noris is the Latin name for the German city of Nuremberg, where Hermann Zapf was born and raised. Nuremberg has something special about it, aside from Hermann Zapf, it has a great tradition of writing masters, such as Johann Neudörffer (1497-1563), Wolfgang Fugger (1515-1568), and Rudolf Koch (1876-1934).

Sabine is an Arabetic type design with a calligraphic flavor. It follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in Unicode Standards version 5.1, and one additional, final-position, glyph for each Arabic letter that is normally connected with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. Sabine employs variable x-height values. It includes all required Lam-Alif ligatures and uses ligature substitutions and selected marks positioning but it does not use any other glyph substitutions or forming. Text strings composed using types of this family are non-cursive with stand-alone isolated glyphs. Tatweel (or Kashida) glyph is a zero width space. Keying it before any glyph will display that glyph isolated form. In Sabine Kashidah, Irsal, and Tasmim keying Tatweel (shift J) after certain glyphs will replace it with a long stroke glyph. In Sabine Tasmim, keying it a second time will replace glyph with a final form swash (Irsal) glyph. In Sabine Irsal all final forms are swash glyphs. Keying Tatweel before Alif Lam Lam Ha will display the Allah ligature. Sabine family includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals; all required diacritic marks, Allah ligature, in addition to standard English keyboard punctuations and major currency symbols. Fonts are available in regular and italic styles.
