Thirty years after its first appearance, Jovica Veljović has produced ITC New Veljovic Pro, a completely revised edition of his first typeface, ITC Veljovic (1984). Prof. Veljović has tapped into all the experience he has garnered over the past decades; by carefully adjusting the proportions of the characters he has provided the new typeface with a more harmonious presence. The serifs have been subtly curtailed and the letters made slightly more condensed. Some new features of ITC New Veljovic are the double-story “g” with its completely closed loop and the more open forms of the “c” and “e”. In the italic variants, the latter is much rounder. Thanks to Veljović’s outstanding work, the optimized ITC New Veljovic can now be used in all contemporary applications. The new Condensed style saves considerable space when it comes to setting longer texts. The Display versions show off the striking, crystal-clear shapes of the design at their best in larger point sizes.

KgStuttgart1930 -- Kunstgewerbeschule Stuttgart 1930 -- is based on a printed sample of a font designed in 1930 at the Stuttgart School of Applied Arts. Found in the book ABZ, more alphabets and other signs by J. Rothenstein and M. Goodings. I recreated the grid and kept some awkward letters of this bauhaus-era inspired design. I created the missing glyphs and added alternate versions of already existing ones.

This picturesque, beautiful German Blackletter typeface was originally released by Benjamin Becker Succ, Frankfurt am Main, then named ?K�nstlergotisch?. Ralph M. Unger redesigned, digitally remastered and completed the font based on old catalogues/specimen. In honor of the famous Cranach family, German artists in medieval times, we renamed the font after them. The shadowed version was added for even more eye-catching purposes, e.g. in headlines.

Unger Script is a script design which is obviously based on H. Matheis' Slogan typeface designed for Ludwig & Mayer in 1957. This very expressive script design is defined by its widely swinging upper case and its quite narrowly designed lower case characters. Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font exclusively for profonts in 2001. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues.

Power, speed and modern creature comforts characterized rail travel in the 1930s. To reflect those characteristics, legendary French poster artist A. M. Cassandre employed strong graphic elements and a chiaroscuro letter treatment to the 1939 poster lettering that inspired this font. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 Latin and Unicode 1250 Central European character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

AltraTwo is a complete redraw of a family based on a tracing of a clip art font from an old printed book. The AltraTwo family adds italic, black, and black italic. I liked the gentle calligraphic look. Consider it a sans serif with style. This is a typical NuevoDeco OpenType pro font with caps, lowercase, small caps, lining, oldstyle, and small cap figures, numerators, denominators, fractions, swashes, and so on. There aren't many unusal ligatures for this one, though. It does have the Latin 2 character set or what Adobe calls CE, Central European characters. Altra has been my preferred header face for sevral years. it also works very well for body copy. I usually use it for my contrasting tip and quote paragraphs with Bergsland Pro as my normal body copy.

The inspiration source for MFC Falconer Monogram is an unusual hand-drawn design from a vintage embroidery publication which relies on rigid geometric letterforms to create an upward stepping framework. This monogram which evokes visions of it embossed or printed on antique baking tins was originally intended to adorn handkerchiefs, but the possibilities of its use are up to your imagination. This is one of many monogram designs from the early 1900’s which fall into a two letter format that is either adorned or interwoven decorative elements. Montauk Pro is named after a small village in Suffolk County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. It is the easternmost area in Long Island, and thus the easternmost area in New York State. It is home to Montauk Point State Park, site of the Montauk Point Lighthouse. It is named after the Montauk Indians. Montauk Pro is a casual, jaunty and quite beautiful handwriting script. Inspired by a handwritten Cyrillic placard seen in a book about the Soviet Union, Statue of Liberty's Underwear was envisioned as having been written with a very thick pen with a flat tip held horizontally. Additionally, the letterforms were sculpted to resemble lettering common in early 20th-century Russian constructivism pieces. A Cyrillic alphabet, or "azbuka", set was included in the font.
