When Candy Script was officially released and in the hands of a few designers, I was in the middle of a three-week trip in North America. After returning to Buenos Aires, I found a few reactions to the font in my inbox. Alongside the congratulatory notes, flattering samples of the face in use, and the inevitable three or four “How do I use it?” emails, one interesting note asked me to consider an italic counterpart. 

I had experimented with a few different angles during the initial brainstorming of the concept but never really thought of Candy Script as an upright italic character set. A few trials confirmed to me that an italic Candy Script would be a bad idea. However, some of these trials showed conceptual promise of their own, so I decided to pursue them and see where they would go. Initially, it seemed a few changes to the Candy Script forms would work well at angles ranging from 18 to 24 degrees, but as the typeface evolved, I realized all the forms had to be modified considerably for a typeface of this style to work as both a digital font and a true emulation of real hand-lettering. Those were the pre-birth contractions of the idea for this font. I called it Sugar Pie because it has a sweet taste similar to Candy Script, mostly due to its round-to-sharp terminal concept. This in turn echoes the concept of the clean brush scripts found in the different film type processes of late 1960s and early 1970s.
 
While Candy Script’s main visual appeal counts on the loops, swashes, and stroke extensions working within a concept of casual form variation, Sugar Pie is artistically a straightforward packaging typeface. Its many ligatures and alternates are just as visually effective as Candy Script’s but in a subtler and less pronounced fashion. The alternates and ligatures in Sugar Pie offer many nice variations on the main character set. Use them to achieve the right degree of softness you desire for your design. Binomic is a sort of monospaced font family. Multilingual, semi-connected​ display brush script, Nagamaki is perfect for logos, food packaging, menus, labels, apparel, advertising, cards, branding and more. Nagamaki comes with a set of lowercase swash alternates, ligatures and ending terminals. Inspired by my writing created with Pentel Touch Brush Pen and polished into clean forms, it’s stroke endings on letters like l or t reminded me of Japanese Katana swords. After researching the swords I named the font Nagamaki, which is a type of Katana sword with an extra long handle. It works well in smaller sizes and for more text but it shines in medium to large point sizes. You can access all the OpenType features through Adobe, Affinity and other similar software. With a couple of defining features like double story lowercase g and alternate lowercase r it makes a perfect choice for giving a little character to your designs while keeping everything nice and neat.

The Data Error AOE Family was one of my earliest typefaces, at a time when I had become obsessed with all forms of "digital/techology" typestyles. It's been awhile since the early 2000's, but I've had a hankering for awhile now to revisit this typeface, giving it a more expansive language character set and fill it out with some Opentype features. Inspired by some old printouts of BASIC programs and an Atari 1050 Disk Drive manual with pin printer examples, comes the familiar yet oddly restricted style with this Data Error family. This family comes complete with Regular and Bold versions with their respective Oblique versions. Odd pin printer restrictions inherent in this typeface are: no characters extend below baseline or above ascender line, (except international accents). Zombie Apocalypse is way more versatile as its name would suggest. It might be used as a horror font (red color tones in horror games, movie covers) or in ads for an Offroad Experience Tour (or wherever it comes to dirt, mud and spatters in combination with brown tones). When used with light blue/red/yellow/orange colors, the font can express creativity and freedom (on fashion, inspirational art and advertising) because it is not bound to classic straight-lined fonts. In various shades of gray or in black, it can be used to support a "worn out" look. Zombie Apocalypse - with its "worn out" look and many details - is espacially designed for use with large font sizes, for example in high resolution print media or in large images on digital media. The font is designed to be used in many different languages. It has a large set of accented characters and diacritical marks.

Gentleman font is a sans-serif font family of 10 weights – from hairline to black – designed by Juraj Chrastina. It is a legible typeface with clear geometry and spiced with nice humanist terminals enhancing its identity. We think Gentleman name suits perfectly to this family because of its beautiful outlines and elegant letterforms yet looking tight, compact and with own presence. Gentleman is surely a good choice both for screen applications and print media. Its multipurpose spreads over poster design, logos, headlines, body texts, stationery and back labels. Also very good for books, magazines and newspapers – an excellent choice even for small text size.

Foundry Monoline is an elegant, modern typeface family eminently suited for use in identity, editorial, and advertising use. The deceptively simple design, and clean, linear appearance has been created using strong structural elements. Each character has its own subtleties and variations, with the monoline appearance achieved through careful optical adjustment. Since its first release, the family has been extended from 7 to 12 fonts. It now includes a comprehensive choice of 6 weights with accompanying italics - from ultra-light beautiful at large sizes, to extra bold great for headlines. It is also available in OpenType Levels 1, 2 and 3 providing a wide range of language access.

Aseel is a contemporary and legible typeface. It is intended to work well in the context of information and signage design. It also works well as a body text typeface as it is characterized by open counter forms and a large x-height. It is based on the Naskh calligraphic structure and has a medium stroke contrast. The letters are condensed to fit more information per line and it exists in three weights, regular, medium and bold.

Macis is a real-and-fake-retro-modern font-family containing five weights from thin to black. It is inspired by shop signs, packaging and typography from around the middle of 20th century. Though it is strictly geometrically constructed, it contains some hand-crafted influences as well as some irregularities. Some say, it dances on the baseline, ’cause the bowls and curves reach far out over the stems. Use it in big sizes, especially the extreme weights!

Alonquin is a typographical tribute to Dorothy Parker and the New Yorker crowd who haunted the Alonquin hotel in its 1920s heyday, sharing scintillating one-liners over sparkling cocktails. Deco and decadent, it aims to recapture the spirit of the age (mostly gin from what I can make out!)

Churchward Legible is an extensive typeface family designed by New Zealand type designer Joseph Churchward. A geometric sans serif, it is, as its name boasts, highly legible and readable on screen as well as in print. The family includes five weights from Light to Extra Bold, with companion italics.

Beuys is a sans serif typeface based on geometrical shapes. The horizontal sroke contrast gives Beuys its distinct look. This unique appearance makes it an interesting display typeface. The six weights of Beuys come with OpenType-Features and a character set of 323 glyphs including symbols, ligatures and alternates.

This font feels equally charming and elegant. It looks stunning on wedding invitations, thank you cards, quotes, greeting cards, logos, business cards and every other design which needs a handwritten touch. It is also PUA encoded which means you can access all of the glyphs and swashes with ease!

Leah is an easy-going, informal handwritten font based on the handwriting of a friend. It was digitally refined after scanning. It has been refined to ensure legibility. Based on the fin-de-siècle Helios Reklameschrift of the Klinkhardt foundry, Leipzig, Affiche preserves the beautiful art nouveau character of its hot-metal forerunner and was carefully extended to make it multilingual. For more historical authenticity, you can use the long s by typing [alt] and [b].

Odessa was designed by Peter O'Donnell, an impressive, refined sans serif typeface based on the compass and ruler design of Futura. It is best set with wide letter spacing and is particularly good for an upscale, fashionable look. The fine-line casing of Odessa emphasizes its clean, proportioned features.
