Mid Century Sans (MCS) is composed of high-geometric shapes. László Moholy-Nagy —professor in the Bauhaus— said “Typography is a tool of communication. It has to be communication in its most intense form. The emphasis must be on absolute clarity since this distinguishes the character of our own writing from that of ancient pictographic forms.” As same as you can see in modern typefaces in the early twentieth century, MCS has very efficient, clear and minima letterforms. There are not any decorative parts in the skeleton of letters. At the same time, Mid Century Sans has one more feature. In the middle of the twentieth century, one big movement which was called Mid-century modern had occurred. The Mid-century modern movement in the U.S. was an American reflection of the International and Bauhaus movements and it was slightly more organic in form and less formal than the International Bauhaus-style. In other words, it was friendly and stylish. We added Mid-century-spices to the Bauhaus-modernism. The basic letter form is geometric yet it has very friendly strokes and human touch. Mid Century Sans consists of 8 weights and their matching Italics for a wide range of usages. Farther, Mid Century Sans is supporting international Latin languages and basic Cyrillic languages including Basic Latin, Western Europe, Central and South-Eastern Europe. Monthly Calendar JNL is a companion font to Calendar Blocks JNL, and features classic wood type lettering and numerals from the 1800s. The days of the week are on the lower case “f” through “l” keys, while the names of the months are found on the “m” through “x” positions. An open rectangle is on the lower case “y” key, and a solid black rectangle is on the “z”. For those who wish to use the 23/30 and 24/31 configurations, they can be found on the left and right parenthesis.

Part of the extended Rahere typeface family, Rahere Slab is a humanist slab serif (or Egyptian) in six weights from light to extra bold with corresponding italics. Rahere Slab – like its sibling Rahere Sans – features subtle detailing, giving the typeface a distinctive, warm appearance without distracting the reader. Legible at large and small sizes, Rahere Slab is a versatile, workhorse typeface that is suitable for a wide range of applications such as information signage, packaging, annual reports, advertising, brochures, catalogues, screen text and visual identities. Slab serifs are ideal for projects that need to convey a sense of authority tempered with diplomacy or messages that just need some serious oomph – and Rahere is a great slab for the job. The italic lowercase is more cursive and expressive than the roman and when they’re used together it displays enough character to create emphasis without looking out of place while harmonising admirably. Set on its own (for example, pull-out quotes), the italic exudes a charm that draws attention to the text. The character set covers most European languages plus Vietnamese. Each weight contains lining & non-aligning numerals in both proportional & tabular spacing. The tabular numerals share the same width across all weights and styles (matching Rahere Sans too) – indispensable for financial tables in annual reports. If a companion sans serif is needed, Rahere Sans is the perfect partner. They are both part of the extended Rahere typeface family and have been designed to complement each other beautifully. The typeface is named after Rahere, a 12th-century Anglo-Norman priest, who founded the Priory of the Hospital of St Bartholomew, London in 1123. In 2007 I was successfully treated at Barts for relapsed testicular cancer so I’m indebted to all the doctors, nurses and support staff who work there. A special shout out to Orchid Cancer – a UK charity that helps men affected by cancer – who funded the research for my treatment.

In 1459, while visiting his dying mother, Italian painter Piero della Francesca spent seven days creating a fresco of a pregnant madonna in a small country church in the hilltown of Monterchi (Italy). Hailed today as one of the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance, the fresco was given a new branding in 2019 by Art Director Riccardo Falcinelli who asked the Zetafonts team to develop a custom font for the project. The resulting typeface system, designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini together with Andrea Tartarelli and Maria Chiara Fantini as a rework of Francesco Canovaro original Beatrix Antiqua, is a 50-weights ode to the beauty of classical roman letterforms, that pairs elegant alternates and quirky ligatures with an array of design options for clear and effective editorial, signage, logo and wayfinding design. The base display family, Monterchi, allows endless design expressions with a range of six weights from the slender thin to the strong extrabold, all with matching italics and an array of over one hundred discretionary ligatures. A fine-tuned companion Monterchi Text has been developed to excel in body use, with a larger x-height and wider spacing - clear and legible even at small sizes. The use range of the family is enriched by Monterchi Serif and Monterchi Sans that feature different contemporary interpretations of the same classical geometric skeleton, allowing for layered editorial design and variation. Kylo Sans is a carefully blended typeface, one-part humanist, one-part grotesque and a small dose of geometric. Homenko was the only Ukrainian typeface for metal type casting developed in the last century. It has already become a 'classic'. Vasyl Homenko worked on it from 1964 to 1967. The typeface successfully combines the qualities of lineal humanist typefaces with the Ukrainian tradition of asymmetrical slab serif. The works on its digitization and further development has been in progress since 2000. The present version contains Latin Extended characters, Cyrillic with stressed alternates and several ornaments based on Vasyl Homenko's works. It works perfectly for books for children and is ideal for publications related to culture, history, literature and traditional art of Ukraine and other nations of Eastern Europe.

I really like the moments when classic meets modern. Mathieu was inspired, by the proportions, texture and elegance of Renaissance typefaces, and by the works of Dutch typographers, in whom I have always appreciated the balance between the traditional approach and experiment. Mathieu has the features of a sans-serif typeface, but you can feel delicate notes of calligraphy through humanistic details. The whole family has several width options complemented by a slightly slanted but expressive italics – making it suitable for both longer texts and for use in visual identities. Karol Mularczyk and Małgorzata Bartosik worked on the project creatively directed by Mateusz Machalski.

Chiavettieri draws inspiration from Humanist types, marked by low contrast between thick and thin strokes and the angle of stress in the bowls of letters. On the other hand, generous x-height, clean angled serifs and sharp cuts in the ball terminals suggest a more contemporary look. All these characteristics make it a robust, well balanced, legible typeface ideally suited for book text, editorial and publishing, as well as web and screen text. Besides all the display and script typefaces I design, my real passion is to design typefaces for copy. Safran is the first of my sans serif workhorse families available from Myfonts. Starting from a light version there are nine weights up to the strong ultrabold. All with italics. What was the inspiration for designing the font? New Millennium Sans is one of three font families that share a common name, a common design philosophy, a common x-height, and basic character shapes. (The others are New Millennium and New Millennium Linear; all three work well together.) New Millennium Sans is a "humanist sans" in the Optima vein -- but without certain quirks (e.g., the "waisted" strokes) of the latter. It has proportional lining numerals whose height comes midway between the lower- and uppercases. (The bold styles are identical to those of New Millennium.) New Millennium Sans might be used in books, periodicals, or any large text blocks where a legible sans is desired.

M Marker is a humanistic script design characterised by its italic, modern, box marker pen-like style. M Marker incorporates features of carton box marker pen, its strokes beginning and ending are rough, parallel without flare. Contrast of strokes is high. Its extra bold stems (豎) make it suitable for large display text to catch attention. Crossbars (橫) and stems (豎) are straight but slanted while angles (折) are smooth and well rounded. Dots (點), ticks (剔), hooks (勾) and downstrokes (撇、捺) are irregular, smooth and long to create softness, liveliness. It is best suited for casual and lively display, illustrations, set upright (naturally slanted), non-condensed.
