When people usually think of wood type, images of bold and ornate designs reminiscent of the Old West or the Victorian Era come to mind. In truth, wood type was manufactured well into the late 20th century, and only fell out of favor when the letterpress was replaced by the offset press and computerized typesetting. Although there are hard-core collectors who have started a small resurgence in the preservation and use of wood type, it's the digital interpretations of these classic faces that see the most use in today's electronic layout work. Deco Wood Type JNL reinterprets one of these later designs, a bold sans with a decidedly Art Deco influence.

David Farewell is a decorative flare-serif typeface family with medium contrast. It has four styles: regular, bold, italic, and bold italic.

This family was created -- inspired from the engraved typeface (Two styles : Normal & Italic) used in the pack of 52 playing cards who was describing the 52 counties forming a small Atlas of England and Wales and depicting English roads for the first time, published by Sir Robert Morden in 1676. Our OTF and TTF versions are covering Western, Eastern and Central European languages (including Celtic), Baltic and Turkish, containing historical and standard ligatures plus specific Old English abbreviations. The MacTT Classic version is containing the basic standard 256 glyphs including some extra ligatures.

Frederic W. Goudy (1865-1947) created over 100 typefaces during his lifetime. Like most type designers, he is known principally to most people only through his eponymously titled faces such as Goudy Modern, Goudy Old Style etc. This set includes one of Goudy's rarest Arts & Crafts styled faces, a font known as Aries. The font was originally created by Goudy for a private press in Eden, New York in 1926. Also included in this set are two decorative fonts: one font of 52 decorative Ornaments & one font that contains 52 Ampersands.

The typeface Fry was developed in 2008 specially for the Sky-Fish company (fish and seafood dealer). Type is designed for small texts, it has friendly and fairytale historic flavor. Fry takes openness and dynamism of humanistic sans serif, simple and softness of lubok's letters (primitive style) and fluidity of shallow marine fry. Despite of funny style, Fry works well even in the 5 point size. In large sizes Fry demonstrates its originality, vivacity and softness, in the small characteristics become less visible, and Fry's readability becomes more important. So this makes the typeface suitable for many tasks of typography. The typeface includes extended set of Latin, old style and lining figures, historical alternates and special local features. The combination of lubok's aesthetics and funny dynamic forms make a nature of Fry. Fry was exhibited at the Svjato Kyrylyci (Kharkov, Ukraine) festival in 2008. It was awarded for excellence in type and graphic design at Modern Cyrillic 2009 competition. Fry was selected among 50 typefaces for the Call for type exhibition in the Gutenberg museum (2013).

fj Platz Groteske™ is the new font from frncojonastype project that culminates after almost 5 years of learning and development. fj Platz Groteske™ is a Neo-grotesk font with slight geometrical proportions with humanistic terminations. For this occasion, this font will show the normal version, however, the entire project contemplate condensed family, extended and the development of alphabets as Cyrrilic and Greek. This proposal is to improve the legibility in the Neo-grotesk fonts with generous gaps, vertical and square counter form and ascendents that exceed slightly the capitals. One of the most remarkable characteristic of this humanistic sans serif is its versatility. This design incorporates different styles into a consistent look. A pinch of script, a little of geometric and some humanistic shapes as well create a very distinguishable sans-serif. It has an overall good feeling specially on the heavier weights that have intended contrast irregularities to create a 'cartoonish' look. On the intermediate weights the design will preform well on small font sizes because of its large counters, low contrast and large x-height, but as you go to the extremes you will see shapes full of personality that will pop out in large font sizes. The font is loaded with opentype features such as small caps, ligatures, alternates, old style figures, and much more. The italic version is deeply rooted in the calligraphic heritage of the Italics. This way the brush inspired strokes are emphasized as well as an overall calligraphic look. Far from being a mere slant, Mangerica Italic had every lowercase glyph redesigned as well as some uppercase, besides that, every glyph was optically adjusted to ensure not only aesthetics but functionality too.

We have adapted the version of our Darwin font for use in Microsoft Office. It only has 4 variants: regular, italic, bold and bold italic. Font weights have been named in a way that can be clearly shown up in the font list in Office programs for the sake of a good hierarchy (the bold variant is quite bold and does not look the same as the original font).
