ZIGZAG is a funny font family whose letters have four varieties each in order to multiply expressions and attract the eye by breaking the rhythm of reading. There are two styles available Rounded and Not Rounded. The variations oscillate between a hand-drawn design and a geometric or imaginative drawing. Opentype’s function lets you choose between different variations of each glyph and contextual variables allow to mix the styles. Benoît Bodhuin designed ZIGZAG Rounded in 2011/12 for the theatre Vivat. In 2013 ZIGZAG Rounded was supplemented by ZIGZAG Not Rounded.

Comforter promises to be a favorite among professional designers and people who love quality hand lettered forms. It’s a bouncy, upright brush style script. It’s look is appealing for many various usages. It’s contemporary, and non- traditional. It’s sophisticated, yet fun and funky. The Brush style of Comforter adds another touch to its “brushy” look. Comforter Pro versions come complete with multiple language options including Rob’s interpretation of a script style of Cyrillic. Unlike a “cursive” style, the script Cyrillic uses both traditional and cursive forms. In addition, the PRO versions are programmed with numerous OpenType features plus a few ornamental and word art glyphs not found in the Regular flavors. The regular versions are properly kerned, but contain none of the OpenType features found in the PRO versions. The Alternate flavors contain a few of the alternate forms found in the PRO versions of the typeface, including Cyrillic.

A unique and stylized type design with Art Deco influence was found within the French publication “Modèles de lettres modernes par Georges Léculier” (“Models of Modern Letters by Léculier”). This lettering is now digitally available as Deco Wide JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

The unusual hand lettering found on the 1945 sheet music for “Chinese Song” provided not only the design inspiration but the font’s name as well. A hybrid of Asian and Art Deco influences, Chinese Song JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Perfume Counter JNL was based on the hand lettered song title found on the 1938 sheet music for "At A Perfume Counter (On the Rue de la Paix)" from Billy Rose's New York revue "Casa Mañana", and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The titles in various sections of an 1890 catalog for stencil manufacturing supplies were set in metal type that closely resembled the lettering found on a typewriter. These examples became the basis for Victorian Typewriter JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Parenting JNL is a stylized Art Deco sans serif type design originally found on a vintage WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster designed by the Federal Art Project and touting the topic of "The Job of Being a Parent". Available in regular and oblique versions.

Inspired by the hand lettering found on a 1930s travel poster promoting visits to India, this bold sans serif Art Deco type design feature incised lines and a stylized A,E,F and S. World Travel JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This family was inspired by a Type Battle over at Typophile: How would you design a font metrically compatible with Helvetica, but better than Arial? Working with preset letter widths was an interesting constraint, both a relief and a limitation at the same time. I have done all the 4 basic weights, and the skewed obliques (done to a slightly less steep 10 degrees angle as opposed to the originals 12) has been optically adjusted. The letters have been designed quite close to the german/swiss grotesk tradition, but by using super-elliptical rounds, rounded dots and slightly curved outer diagonals the end result is a friendly looking font family that still looks... familiar. ALL fonts from CheapProFonts have very extensive language support: They contain some unusual diacritic letters (some of which are contained in the Latin Extended-B Unicode block) supporting: Cornish, Filipino (Tagalog), Guarani, Luxembourgian, Malagasy, Romanian, Ulithian and Welsh. Corton was inspired by the traditional lettering on a gravestone in an English village. While that might sound a rather solemn beginning, Corton has wonderfully lively air, with distinctive lively serifs and beautifully swashed downstrokes. Eight faces are offered: regular and titular each in three weights plus regular condensed. Between them they are ideal signage and display faces, merging 'olde-worlde' charm and fun character, but remaining clear and legible.

Meet Byra! A new approach to a decorative typeface. This typeface has asymmetrical terminals (round), which means than has serifs, but not in every side of the letterforms. The mix between both classic and modern elements, as terminals and the inverted contrast, gives the typeface a strong personality. Dogfight is a hand-crafted brush font which created from scratch by using a brush pen on a paper. It is not too sharp with sharp edges, but rather with a softer rounded shape. The cover of the 1904 sheet music from the Tibetan comic opera “The Forbidden Land” had the title hand lettered in an unusual Art Nouveau style. Mostly squared with rounded corners, many of the characters twisted, turned and extended in ways that took on the look of the Far East. This became the design model for Nouveau Moderne JNL, which is available in regular and oblique versions.

Corkboard JNL is a bold, yet fun rounded-ends typeface that was popular in the 1970s and enjoying a revival amongst students and teachers via die-cut bulletin board letters. Five variations are offered—Regular, Slanted, Shadow, Shadow Slanted and Kiddies. Corkboard Kiddies JNL has a limited character set and eccentric spacing that emulates the way a child might put letters onto a bulletin board.

The opening credits to the original (1937) version of “A Star is Born” starring Janet Gaynor and Frederic March was hand lettered in an Art Deco style with rounded terminals that emulated the look of neon signage – alluding to the glitz and glamour of 1930s Hollywood. Sánchez, designed by Daniel Hernández, is a serif typeface belonging to the classification slab serif, or Egyptian, that bears a strong resemblance to the iconic Rockwell, but with rounded edges— offering contrast and balance to the square structure. The sheet music for the title song of the 1960 movie "Exodus" had the name hand lettered in a block stencil style with rounded corners and narrow "rails" [the breaks between the stencil parts]. Loosely based on this design and working from just the six letters of the title, Cartage Stencil JNL is available as a digital font in both regular and oblique versions.

Satin Blues is my easy going and very legible sans. Actually I drew this by hand and then traced each letter digitally, leaving a super steady, yet funky, comic font. I've made two versions: the Regular and Soft. The Soft version has rounded edges, which gives a smoother look. The font is very suitable for anything that needs a clear but wild comic look.

A title card with cast credits for the 1935 movie “The Whole Town’s Talking” (starring Edward G. Robinson and Jean Arthur) formed the basis for People Talk JNL. The hand lettered names were done in a slightly condensed slab serif – mostly rectangular in shape with rounded corners. A few characters take on their own unique appearance. People Talk JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A circa-1940s textbook for the Esterbrook Drawlet Pens (similar to Speedball pens) offered numerous samples of lettering that could be obtained by following the simple directions and using the book as a guide. One example was a classic Art Deco design made with a round nib pen, and it has been redrawn digitally as Lettering Book JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Toronto Gothic was developed from a headline in a 1920s issue of the Toronto Star. In a previous life, it was probably Condensed Titling Gothic #11, but in this form its rounded corners and irregular lines are meant to make it look worn from years of use.
