This is yet another Willard T. Sniffin deco-inspired original. ITC Élan combines a gothic simplicity with elegance in a distinctive yet subtle typeface design. Daniel Berkeley Updike seems to have stimulated the architect Bertram G. Goodhue to design the prototype in 1896 for Ingalls Kimball at the Cheltenham Press.
