Right now, you can type your text with Latin characters, and it can be read internationally. So, can you read this script? This font family consists of two font styles (regular and rough). Both of them will make an Arabic feel to every text you type using this font. I paid a lot of time for ligatures to provide flowing effect to every lettering. The Combi collection includes Sans, Sans Oblique, a true Italic, Serif, Serif Oblique and a set of Openface capitals. Combi fonts have 5 compatible weights and metrics allowing them to be used in free combination. Inspiration came from Jan Van Krimpen’s 'Romulus' (Enschedé, 1931). In addition to the Roman style, Van Krimpen created a set of open capitals, a simple oblique variant and subsequently, an attractive calligraphic italic, Cancelleresca Bastarda. In addition to Van Krimpen’s idea, Combi has been influenced by features from many faces including Bembo, Melior and Optima. The object was to create a versatile family of body text and titling faces for use in books, magazines and on the web. Glyphs are available for most Latin based languages and all text fonts include small caps, proportional numerals and other Opentype features.

Bannetters (Banner Letters) was designed to alternate two letter sets. Both sets are formed on parallelograms, with one set of parallelograms sloped upward to the right and the other sloped downward to the right. When alternated, the result is a zigzaggy line of text. In applications that support the OpenType feature contextual alternatives (calt), the two sets of letters are automatically alternated. The Bannetters family has two styles, one with straight outer edges and the other that rounds these shapes for letters that have curved exteriors. Both styles are largely monospaced and monoline (not to mention weird, strange, and unusual). The tiling pattern of text created by Bannetters makes it attention-grabbing and appropriate for signage, posters, advertising, and other uses where eye-catching text is desired.

Marita combines sternness with swing and, from this, develops its own, unique elegance. This makes Marita quite versatile, also and especially for headline settings. Apart from numerous ligatures, the font also includes old style figures. Marita is based on brush writing with drop-shaped serifs. The idea was to try to apply a given design criteria (also see Volker Schnebel's Manuel and Martin fonts) to every single character. In other words, start with a character and develop all of the others from it. This is quite easy for some characters but extremely difficult for others. This process generates creativity and the characters move away from the initial constructed sketch. Together in a typeface, the individual characters are now all of a piece and character.

I used to be able to sketch headlines in Franklin Gothic, Times, Futura, Helvetica and several scripts. We had a kind of huge inverted camera – which we called Lucy. We projected the alphabet onto a sheet of transparent paper, outlined the letters with a fineliner and then filled them in. It was very tedious work, but the resulting headline had its own charm and we had a permanent race going on who was best and fastest. I won most of the time! A disc jockey-only promotional sleeve for a 1964 [45 rpm] release of “Close to Me” and “Let Them Talk” by Dan Penn featured the song titles printed in a stencil typeface on the record sleeve. Closely resembling a stencil version of Franklin Gothic but with its own unique characteristics, this design has been reinterpreted as Turntable Stencil JNL and is available in both regular and oblique versions. For trivia buffs, Dan Penn is a singer-songwriter-record producer, often collaborating with Dewey Lindon “Spooner” Oldham; both closely associated with the late Rick Hall’s Fame recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In 1964, Hall started the Fame record label, and for a time it was distributed by Vee-Jay Records of Chicago, the first major Black-owned record label in the United States. Penn’s release was only the second for the new label; Fame 6402.

This font is an experiment in building dynamics into a typeface. Explosion has two variants to be put on top of each other for more dimension.
