  5. 99 Names of ALLAH Compact by Islamic Calligraphy75, $12.00
We have transformed the “99 names of ALLAH” into a font. That means each key on your keyboard represents 1 of the 99 names of ALLAH Aaza Wajal. The fonts work with both the English and Arabic Keyboards. We call this Calligraphy "Compact" because as you can see everything is very close and decorative symbols are at a maximum. The first "alef" has neither a "hamzit wasel" nor a "fatha", this indicates to skip that first alef so instead of saying "AR-RAHMAAN" you say "R-RAHMAAN". (in the zip file you will find a pdf file explaining the differences in the "harakat", pronunciation and spelling according to the Holy Quran). The calligraphy is anything but traditional & we have used all the decorative letters except for the "Ye". In other calligraphy you don't usually find the decorative letters: "Dal, Ra & Ye" but we like them and we use them, the important thing is that they don't change the pronunciation or the meaning. Decorative letters used in this calligraphy: "Mim, Aain, Sin, HHe, He, Kaf, Alef, Ta, Dal, Ra & Saad". Purpose & use: - Writers: Highlight the names in your texts in beautiful Islamic calligraphy. - Editors: Use with kinetic typography templates (AE) & editing software. - Designers: The very small details in the names does not affect the quality. Rest assured it is flawless. The MOST IMPORTANT THING about this list is that all the names are 100% ERROR FREE, and you can USE THEM WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED. All the “Tachkilat” are 100% ERROR FREE, all the "Spelling" is 100% ERROR FREE, and they all have been written in accordance with the Holy Quran. No names are missing and no names are duplicated. The list is complete "99 names +1". The +1 is the name “ALLAH” 'Aza wajal. Another important thing is how we use the decorative letters. In every font you will see small decorative letters, these letters are used only in accordance with their respective letters to indicate pronunciation & we don't include them randomly. That means "mim" on top or below the letter "mim", "sin" on top or below the letter "sin", and so on and so forth. Included: Pdf file telling you which key is associated with which name. In that same file we have included the transliteration and explication of all 99 names. Pdf file explaining the differences in the harakat and pronunciation according to the Holy Quran. 6. 99 Names of ALLAH Complete by Islamic Calligraphy75, $12.00
We have transformed the “99 names of ALLAH” into a font. That means each key on your keyboard represents 1 of the 99 names of ALLAH Aaza Wajal. The fonts work with both the English and Arabic Keyboards. We call this Calligraphy "complete" because this is the only calligraphy where the complete set of decorative letters have been used. The calligraphy is more on the traditional side, letters don't overlap, the "ye" at the end of the names doesn't have the two dots, and a decorative "ye" has been included. The first "Alef" doesn't have a "hamzit wasel" nor a "fatha", this indicates to skip the pronunciation of that first letter. So instead of saying "AR-RAHMAAN" you say "R-RAHMAN". (in the zip file you will find a pdf file explaining the differences in the "harakat", pronunciation and spelling according to the Holy Quran). 7. Ongunkan Archaic Etrusk by Runic World Tamgacı, $50.00
Etruscan was the language of the Etruscan civilization, in Italy, in the ancient region of Etruria (modern Tuscany, western Umbria, northern Latium, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Lombardy and Campania). Etruscan influenced Latin but was eventually completely superseded by it. The Etruscans left around 13,000 inscriptions that have been found so far, only a small minority of which are of significant length; some bilingual inscriptions with texts also in Latin, Greek, or Phoenician; and a few dozen loanwords. Attested from 700 BC to AD 50, the relation of Etruscan to other languages has been a source of long-running speculation and study, with its being referred to at times as an isolate, one of the Tyrsenian languages, and a number of other less well-known theories. The consensus among linguists and Etruscologists is that Etruscan was a Pre–Indo-European,and a Paleo-European language and is closely related to the Raetic language spoken in the Alps, and to the Lemnian language, attested in a few inscriptions on Lemnos. Grammatically, the language is agglutinating, with nouns and verbs showing suffixed inflectional endings and gradation of vowels. Nouns show five cases, singular and plural numbers, with a gender distinction between animate and inanimate in pronouns. Etruscan appears to have had a cross-linguistically common phonological system, with four phonemic vowels and an apparent contrast between aspirated and unaspirated stops. The records of the language suggest that phonetic change took place over time, with the loss and then re-establishment of word-internal vowels, possibly due to the effect of Etruscan's word-initial stress. Etruscan religion influenced that of the Romans, and many of the few surviving Etruscan language artifacts are of votive or religious significance.
  8. ITC Aram by ITC, $29.99
Jana Nikolic was finishing her degree program at the Faculty of Applied Arts, in Belgrade, with a final project that would combine her two majors: type and book design. Three stories from William Saroyan's My Name Is Aram would provide the text for the book, to be set in a typeface that Nikolic would design. Nikolic knew something special was happening the moment she put pen to paper. The letters just emerged," she recalls. "I started to explore a few new pens and found one I loved. I was able to make its tip bend with pressure." Like the family Saroyan writes about, the design flowing from Nikolic's pen would be simple but a little quirky. "When there were a whole bunch of little black letters around me," continues Nikolic, "I saw that this was going to be a very interesting typeface family." Nikolic drew Latin and Cyrillic letters, lowercase and capital letters, wide letters and narrow letters. She was surprised at how quickly and easily the design came. "There were no badly written letters," she says. "I hardly had to rework them and they fit together remarkably well." ITC Aram's standard character complement consists of one set of lowercase letters and two sets of capitals: one narrow and the other wide. The wide caps can be used with the standard lowercase, or mixed with the narrow caps for a variation on "cap and small cap" copy. The ITC Aram create the opportunity to mix and combine the letters into playful typographic expressions. Words and sentences that twinkle; text that seems light and alive - one runs the risk of creating work that is both delightful and charming when setting copy in ITC Aram."

  11. Vega by Linotype, $29.99
For Vega antikva, too, 16th and 17th century typefaces stood models. I made a free interpretation of them, with a nice result, if I am allowed to express myself. Vega antikva makes a beautiful impression in books, but even as a web typeface it behaves well. The name Vega can be traced down to a constellation, a mathematician, a writer, a movie character, or a research ship, as you like. Now there is a typeface with that name, too. Vega antikva was released in 1994.
  12. Desert Sands JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The February 19, 1923 issue of The Film Daily contained an ad for Mack Sennett's new Ben Turpin comedy entitled "The Shriek of Araby". No doubt this was a spoof of the popular Rudolph Valentino film "The Sheik". The ad tries to emulate Mideastern or Arabic typography via a standard Western alphabet. It somewhat captures the flavor, but its free-form hand lettering comes off as more of a novelty-type style. This is now available digitally as Desert Sands JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

  19. Bazar by Linotype, $29.99
German Designer Klaus Sutter digitized Bazar, a brush script typeface from the 1950s originally drawn by Imre Reiner (1900-1987) and published in 1956 by D. Stempel AG. Bazar is a calligraphic brush type free from accurate horizontal and vertical strokes and a contrast to the objective body type. It has a more static character and could be perfectly applied in headlines or as a figurative word mark. Like tradional chinese calligraphers, Imre Reiner was also a painter; this is reflected in the glyphs of Bazar.

  22. TT Firs Neue by TypeType, $39.00
TT Firs Neue useful links: Specimen | Graphic presentation | Customization options TT Firs Neue is reborn! We have rethought the font to introduce the next-generation typeface. After analyzing each contour and graphic element, we rebuilt the font, preserving its best features while making any necessary adjustments. We have created a flawless and modern sans serif using the new technical capabilities of the studio. TT Firs Neue is a Scandinavian sans serif that combines expressive graphic elements with the versatility of use. In the latest 2023 edition, the font's display elements have become even more attractive, while the overall font balance has also been improved. This is the result of the visual research we did before working on the update. Here is what has changed. The visual elements of the font are now logically coherent. We got rid of the ones that did not suit the font's concept and kept the most attractive ones. The changes affected letters with diagonal strokes "M, N, И", and figures "2, 3, 6, 9". All round characters' shapes have been standardized for all font styles. In the previous version, all glyphs looked different: more square or oval, depending on the font's weight. We made the shapes consistent for the font to feel more integral. Glyphs containing bowls have also changed. We have worked on the balance, altering the height and shape of the bowls. Like rounded ones, we aspired to make the glyphs more balanced for all font styles. The shapes of the letters "J, M, N, S, W, З, И" and Black font style characters have changed. The individuality of these glyphs was slightly different from the whole set, which became apparent in larger sizes. We have improved the shapes and made them more suitable for the font's style. Letters with diagonal strokes and triangular glyphs, such as "A, V, Y, D". We have brought the characters to a consistent logic in their shapes by refining the angles and weight of diagonals in different font styles. The glyphs' terminals follow the same logic in the new version. We have preserved and perfected the old shapes. Ligatures and stylistic sets have been updated entirely and expanded. We have researched Scandinavian languages and designed ligatures and diacritical sets that would definitely be useful for designers. We have redesigned diacritical marks, figures, and punctuation marks. Now all characters follow the same logic and contribute to a well-balanced impression of the font. The character set in each font style has been increased from 934 to 1719, and the number of OpenType features—from 24 to 40. The new font includes 23 font styles: 11 roman, 11 italic, and 1 variable font. The variable font has also become a significant technological advancement for TT Firs Neue. We retained a warm sentiment towards TT Firs Neue's previous success while redesigning the font and implementing substantial alterations. The 2023 font has been developed according to new technical standards that have become significantly higher in the past 5 years. TT Firs Neue is a font well-suited for a wide range of contexts. It can be used for headings, text fragments, visual merchandising and building decoration, and the web. The font is visually aesthetic on podcast and video covers and is an ideal choice for packaging design and brand identity. TT Firs Neue OpenType features: aalt, ccmp, locl, subs, sinf, sups, numr, dnom, frac, ordn, tnum, onum, lnum, pnum, case, dlig, liga, c2sc, smcp, ss01, ss02, ss03, ss04, ss05, ss06, ss07, ss08, ss09, ss10, ss11, ss12, ss13, ss14, ss15, ss16, ss17, ss18, ss19, ss20, calt. 23. Modern Vision - 100% free
  24. Virginia by Type Associates, $31.95
Virginia has a proven track-record. Unashamedly geometric, starkly simple with a touch of art deco/bauhaus/rococo about her, she was the most popular headline face around, at least in my home town in the year of her release circa 1970. That was the year my five-weight design won the inaugural (and only) Lettergraphics International Alphabet design competition and shut out 5000 competitors. Alas, Lettergraphics ceased to trade from its LA studios after the mid-80s and Virginia's two-inch film fonts were left to collect dust on the cutting room floor. Until my recent decision to revive her along with some subtle tweaking, a few additional glyphs and Opentype features, supported by an abundance of kern pairs making Virginia suitable for text or the largest display type.

  26. Alpha Bravo by Wiescher Design, $39.50
AlphaBravo was born on a napkin. I was just doodling, playing around with letterforms when the ballpoint glided a little bit too far and suddenly I had my first letter with the dash sticking out on the left of the e’s horizontal line. I quickly checked on how many letters I could let a line stick out! Then I wrote a couple of words that way and letters joined in the most unusual places, creating new closed forms. I gave the font a try and quickly discovered, that I had stumbled onto an interesting new typeface. I didn't know how to call it, so I simply used the first two letters of the alphabet, Alpha and Bravo. Looking forward to Charlie and Delta, your very curious, Gert Wiescher.
  27. Luba Luft by Julia Bausenhardt, $29.00

  28. Nolan by Kastelov, $55.00
The idea behind Nolan is to create emotional response due to its inviting character and legibility. It is ideal for headlines, presentations, product signage and bespoke logotypes. Due to the structure of the letters, Nolan can also stand its ground in body text, although this is not its primary purpose. Nolan is created slightly wider than what is to be expected from a typical sans font, yet not to the point of being considered a wide typeface. This uniqueness lends the family an air of originality while adhering to already established standards in the creation of contemporary sans typefaces. Nolan has a large x-height, so as to deliver a better punch and be legible at a glance . Its clean and modern lines are reminiscent of architectural aesthetic.
  29. Cyan Neue by Wilton Foundry, $29.00
Cyan Neue is a substantial update variation to the original Cyan we launched in 2006. Most notably the contrast has decreased making it more contemporary. Many glyphs have been improved especially in the italics. The design of Cyan Neue was inspired by features found in classic Roman. It shows a preference for geometric Roman proportions while incorporating open centers (B,P,R) and compact serifs. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. There are many subtle details in Cyan Neue that become more interesting in display sizes, for instance the subtle curves in the serifs and the overall smoothness. Cyan Neue is a robust font that will exceed your expectations. Cyan Neue is clearly ideal for headlines, inscriptions, publications, annual reports, corporate identities, packaging.
  30. Aguadija by Christian Gamba Pardo, $12.90
This font contains plant icons from the taxonomic category Orchidaceae, inspired by the multiple specimens that can be found in Colombia that has the largest number of orchids in the world, more specifically in the specimens that have been exposed on the José Celestino Mutis botanical garden. These icons are characterized by having an organic outline; representing flowers, roots, leaves, bulbs and different supports or pots. The vast majority of icons have perfect bilateral symmetry because this is one of the differential characteristics of orchids (compared to other flowers), if they are divided by a central-vertical axis, their right and left sides are practically identical. “Aguadija” can be used in projects related to nature or similar topics, some icons (specifically the digits) are intended to form decorative ribbons or borders.

  32. WildSong by Scholtz Fonts, $19.00
WildSong was inspired by the exuberant flight and beautiful song of birds. While most brush scripts take their cue from mid-twentieth century samples, WildSong is a fresh, contemporary alternative. WildSong reflects a dynamic interplay between dark and light, creating a sense of drama while hinting at a calligraphic background. Words suggest a baseline, yet are not bound by it. Letters interweave in a seemingly random dance, sometimes connecting smoothly, then breaking that connection as a calligraphic scribe does intuitively. Exuberant swash alternatives to uppercase letters, as well as ligatures can be accessed through both the type and glyph palettes. The font contains over 235 characters - (upper and lower case characters, punctuation, numerals, symbols and accented characters are present). It has all the accented characters used in the major European languages.
  33. VLNL Wasabi Turbo by VetteLetters, $35.00
Wasabi is one of the key ingredients in the Japanese kitchen. Also known as japanese horseradish, it is an extremely spicy condiment made out of the graded root of the Wasabi plant. Its spiciness is different than that of a chili pepper though, more like a hot mustard. The spicy taste shoots right through your nose, but does not last for long. Wasabi is traditionally used in sushi and sashimi dishes, soba noodles, and in a number of Japanese snack foods. Equally sharp and stingy, VLNL Wasabi Turbo was designed by Donald Roos. Despite its japanese outward appearance, the font has its origin in lettering found on a German book. It is hot, and edgy like a samurai sword. Wasabi Turbo will stand out as headline and logo!
  34. Suffix by Obelisk Gestalt, $34.00
Suffix Mono is a monospaced sans-serif family that offers an extensive range of weights and styles. Additionally, it provides numerous OpenType features, including 16 distinct stylistic sets for users to experiment with. The core concept behind Suffix Mono is to explore the distinctive textures often associated with monospace fonts, which are primarily characterized by their "fixed width" nature. Suffix Mono enhances these textures by introducing various stylistic features that enable users to replace closed glyph contours, such as those found in characters like 'f,' 'r,' 'i,' and 'j,' with more open and airy alternatives. Enabling these alternates results in an overall transformation of the textural appearance of Suffix Mono. Furthermore, Suffix Mono boasts one of the hallmark features of modern typefaces: extensive language support, encompassing nearly the entire Latin script.

  36. Moron by Barnbrook Fonts, $30.00
Moron is a distinctive and idiosyncratic display typeface: a winsome-but-nasty, old-and-yet-new drawing of Victorian sans-serif letterforms (with some 1970s sausage fonts thrown in). Moron started life as a sans-serif redrawing of Nylon but developed into a unique typeface with a character all its own. It is based, very loosely, upon Victorian Tuscan and Grotesque type found in the churches and cemeteries of the city of Glasgow. These letterforms originated before the dawn of modernism and at a time when the Arts and Crafts Movement was flourishing. In this age of early mass production and mechanisation, the Victorian ability to balance functionality with ornamentation had fascinating results. The typography of that period displays a unique combination of industrial heft and romantic decoration.
