“Grendel Regular” Evolved out of a hand lettering piece I designed for a record album (Royal Crescent Mob). Inspired by old gothic forms, my intention was to create a playful letter form that could be used in an antique as well as a modern context such as food product packaging or fun video projects, etc.

Regular Joe was first delivered to the font world by Ron and Joe. Yes, the same Ron and Joe of the ArtParts fame. A few years of being so regular, Regular Joe became, well, just bored. Regular Joe needed company. He wished for a family. After all, most of his font friends had big families. His wishes were granted by FontHaus. So Skinny and Husky were created to be with Regular and all together, they became Family Joe. All is well.

Exit strategy is a rough brush font, which I made using Chinese ink (where would I be without my Chinese ink??) and the new batch of French paper I bought. Edil Script is a hand-drawn connected script with the use of a Medium Point Calligraphy Pen on a textured paper. Edil Script is a tribute to my father who taught me how to draw at a very young age and the person behind my passion to draw.

What exactly is an exit punch? I have no clue! :) I named the font after a wordplay with random words, and somehow I found the name suited the font perfect. The letters are awkward and unpredictable in a legible but playful manner. I've added ligatures for the most common double letters, such as bb, cc, dd etc.

Edits and Credits JNL is a cheerful sans serif typeface modeled from ceramic letters in a movie titling set from the late 40s or early 1950s.
