It's cool to be square. Among the many strange attempts to conceal writing, these two systems allegedly used by the Masons have a wonderful simplicity and relative ease of use. Both systems, the Rosicrucian and Free Mason, (also called the Pigpen cypher) as simple replacement ciphers never offered very great cryptographic security, but certainly would ensure that the casual observer would not be able to read documents written in such scripts.

Love Notes JNL is a total reworking of one of Jeff Levine's old freeware fonts. This revised version has an alphabet set jogged left and right in different upper and lower case variations. Playing around with the shift key will bring you the optimum results. On the left and right parenthesis keys are blank hearts logged left and right, and the corresponding fill fonts are on the bracket keys. (NOTE: You may have to do some manual adjustments, as the overlay placement can vary slightly in some programs.) There are numerals as well, and scattered around the keyboard are classic "message hearts" - just like in the boxes of candy. A backfill glyph for the numerals and message hearts is on the backslash key.

Rose Garden Deluxe is an elegant type collection including a luscious high contrast serif in three weights and an ethereal pen script also in three weights. Hand-cut wooden letters belonging to a long-defunct salad bar's signage were offered for sale in an online auction. The casual look of the lettering, the hand crafted feel and the rounded ends made for the perfect inspiration for designing Salad Bar JNL.

Evening Wear JNL, drawn from the elegant monoline lettering used as titling on the sheet music for "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", conjures up images of 1930s New York at its apex. Fine restaurants, elegant night clubs and couples decked out in their best evening apparel were of a time long past when "doing the town" meant really dressing up for the occasion.
