The first flower that was created was for a the cover of a cultural magazine in Montréal (Québec). Then we couldn't stop and we've created a whole font with interesting forms of flowers. Please note that this font is unusually detailed and its complexity may exceed the memory limitations of drawing programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw.

FreeDee is a re-draw of some experimental lettering first drawn during A-Level (just after high-school) art and design studies. It was originally purely self initiated, and one of the first things I used Illustrator to draw. This version takes the original handful of letters and extrapolates a full alphabet with basic latin accents.

Gradle Nr. 1 is yet another new art nouveau design in the URW++ library. It was reworked, redesigned, completed and digitally remastered by Ralph M. Unger for URW++, based on hand-drawn upper case characters by M. J. Gradl, about in 1900. Gradl Nr. 1 is a caps-only font perfectly suited for posters and signage.

On the Ground is a picture font made from drawings of found objects. These object were found on the ground while walking around different cities in the United States. The font uses varying drawing styles (from detailed to pictographic) but they all have a similar irregularity, unifying the characters. Perfect for animations, signs, greeting cards, posters, etc.

This is long awaited thorough revision to Skarpa family. The revision has inculded both another look at letter shapes as well as kerning and metrics of the files. The shapes encapsulated in this font stem from old time architectural drawings hand executed at drawing board with tracing paper and rapidographs. Think of lettering stencils sliding across the tracing paper and craftily exectuted drawing descriptions. The font is based on geometric forms devoid of excessive flourishing. Would suit modern designs either in fashion, technology or laboratory setting. Would look good on door plaques in pharmacy or simple drawer plaques - especially Medium or Bold specimen.

Mayville JNL is a re-drawing of an all-caps Clarendon Wood Type font from the 1800s.

Pixo is a Brazilian graffiti seen in Sao Paulo. Pixo draws its inspiration from that original style.

New Bayreuth is a new and improved version of the original Bayreuth font (Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler, 1932). New Bayreuth was reworked, redesigned, completed and digitally remastered by Ralph M. Unger for URW++, based on specimen taken from old font catalogues. Besides Ganz Grobe Gotisch and Legende, New Bayreuth is the third type design by Schneidler that URW++ brought back to (digital) life.

Edil Script is a hand-drawn connected script with the use of a Medium Point Calligraphy Pen on a textured paper. This typeface has 380+ glyphs with great legibility and it is available in TrueType Font. Art Nouveau typeface "Gaisma Latin" ("Light" in Latvian) draws inspiration from Vienna Secession movement and Nordic National Romanticism. The work on the design started as drawings of several characters for the graphic standard for the Jugendstil museum in Riga. It contains characters for all the European languages as well as a huge set of contextual and stylistic alternates and historical characters to replicate texts of the era.

Tme, new lineal — Tme is an update of Sl (T = S + 1, m = l + 1 and e for natural logarithm), drawn in 2006 for the University of Arts Saint-Luc de Tournai. Its geometrical drawing is based on the directions of the hexagon, a scrupulously followed constraint which confers on some glyphs a very particular drawing. in light, regular and bold language: all latin glyphs

A recent walk down memory lane through old college sketchbooks revealed a collection of caricature fish doodles. Then the sketches were discovered by my son who, being a marine life enthusiast, promptly demanded that I draw more fish. Thus, a collection of 71 fish-inspired drawings and bubbly numbers was born. There is even a lemon, since no fish is really complete without one.

URW Urban follows the trend of pattern fonts. Each character has been provided with an individual pattern created with a special stamp technique. To create a vivid typeface, there is a stylistic alternate for nearly every character. In this way the grotesque has a modern, unconventional look. Some time ago I bought my smallest book ever: Kate Greenaway’s Alphabet* 57 x 72 mm. I thought it was the sweetest little book I had ever seen. Not knowing about the fame of the designer Kate Greenaway (1846-1901), I put it in some dark drawer and looked at it from time to time. Kate’s books were all outstanding successes in English publishing history; she was an icon of the Victorian era. Some of those books are still being reprinted today. This little gem I had accidentally acquired has become very rare and I have not found any reprints yet. So I thought maybe I could adapt her drawings for use on today’s computers. I ventured to redraw her delicate illustrations, blowing them up 300 percent, being forced to simplify them without losing her touch. It took quite some time! While redrawing them, I discovered that she most certainly drew them in at least three different sessions as well. Then I scanned my drawings and put them in a font. To make the font more usable, I added the ten numerals in Kate’s style; the original does not have those. I hope she would have liked my adaptations. I've always loved drawing faeries and I love using them in my scrapbooking pages. So after hunting around for a unique decorative fairy font for my crafts I couldn't quite find what I wanted to use, so I decided to create a whimiscal set of fairy drawings and characters that would suffice. I was influenced in the drawing of the fairies by my love of the 3D poser graphics art,several awesome comics, Alphonse Mucha and several Masters of Art. Naïve Sans is a sans serif handwritten font designed by Fanny Coulez and Julien Saurin in Paris. Our goal was to draw a font with finely irregular lines that give a human and whimsical feeling. We drew five finely balanced weights to assure a good readability whatever the size, with contrasting upstrokes and downstrokes to add an unusual, fancy touch. We also designed five shaked versions with different lowercases and uppercases, to improve your designs and bring a more organic and playful feeling. Extra Crunchy is my handwriting when I am eating cookies while drawing! No, it's true! I did eat a whole box of cookies while drawing this font! :) The letters are a bit jumpy, and have no steady x-height, however, your text may look a bit off, but it is clear and legible. Fits perfect for a children's book, a postcard/poster design or something else that needs that extra crunch :)
