Although English characters do appear on screen, in Star Wars canon this "language" is known as High Galactic. The main written language in Star Wars is called Aurebesh. This font is designed for an interface or signage with a pseudo dot-matrix style. Aurebesh has more than 26 letters, the additional characters are available as glyphs in the set. Numbers and symbols in the Aurebesh fashion are also included.

The other day, I was cooking a curry and I suddenly realised that we, as a family, eat a lot of meat. At home we do like meat, but given the state our world is in right now, we cannot continue eating meat like there is no tomorrow. As a result, I am hunting the internet right now for good vegetarian recipes (if you have one you’d like to share, then please contact me!). Tournedos is a beefy font family: a chunky all caps set of fonts - and a leaner set to counter and complement this rather heavy dish. And do eat your greens!

We began with the Victorian font Dotted, so-called because the counters of many of the letters contained a dot. We knocked out the dots, added a lowercase, and voila! a more useful type than the original without losing its charm.

VLNL Gaufre is a pixel-based font with holes designed by Donald Roos. Each character is built on a grid of doughnut-like elements, which makes it look like a kind of dried dog food, or Belgian waffles. Despite the grid Gaufre still has enough warmth due to the doughy, slightly rounded corners. And because it’s prepared with a hot waffle iron of course. The end result is a merry, chunky typeface that smells of doughnut. Use it for logos or headlines, just add butter and sugar or, better still, top it with whipped cream and cherries. Yummie!

Since many years I live in Munich and read the daily newspaper Abendzeitung. One morning they had redesigned the paper, using Eric Gill's Joanna for the body copy and a tweaked version of Franklin Gothic for the headlines. Since both typefaces are my all-time favorites, I was very pleased. The old hand-lettered title lettering designed by in-house designer Ernst Friedrich Adler around 1947 or 48 was untouched as it always was. Adler had worked for the newspaper an incredible 47 years! Ernst Friedrich Adler celebrated his 100th birthday in the summer of 2007 looking very healthy. But someone had adapted his title lettering for use in the chapter headings, and I did not like the way that was done. Every morning I saw those letters and thought "one day I have to clean that up". About 15 years later I finally did it! Being at it, I designed the whole typeface and added a second fancy cut. And, what do you know, the people at the Abendzeitung called me up and said they liked what I did and started using it. So since that day in 2005 I can read my morning paper without having to wonder about the chapter headings. Homeward Bound is a fat, grungy slab serif font - all handmade and inspired by a well known 1934 font. Together with sidekick Homeward Bound II, this baby will lighten up your day, bring you your newspaper and do your dishes to boot. Well, that may not be an accurate description of Homeward Bound’s abilities, but I am sure it will make your work stand out, giving it that ‘handmade eroded vintage’ look.

Hand lettered Art Deco lettering for the title on the cover of the 1930s-era song "And I Still Do" provided the inspiration for Swing Era JNL. A bold, casual and friendly typeface, it features an intersecting inline through some of the characters. One could almost picture the hottest big band of the day promoted on a lobby card with this alphabet, beckoning all to come on in and "cut a rug".

A creative dot matrix font with more likeable and funny types of dots. Also contains an extended set of characters.

A two version type family, Intimo One is a serif dot matrix typeface, letterforms made up of grid-based dots. Intimo Two is also made up of dots, but in this case the lines are curved, giving a softer, more organic feel.

Millwright is a display typeface family inspired by spunky DIY attitude and Industrial era hardware… an exercise in rendering glyphs with a rudimentary, hand-cut flavour. The type family’s built in Open Type features allow for easy substitution of glyphs… creating plenty of diversification for letter combinations, and multiple glyph variations. Millwright results in designs that are packed with bold character and Do-it-yourself pizzazz. Millwright’s quirky letterforms lend itself to a multitude of graphic applications; from serious branding applications, to light-hearted packaging, to children’s book publishing, to hand-crafted DIY projects. Millwright comprises a family of 4 styles; the utilitarian “Regular” weight, a brash “Black” weight, to the art-deco inspired "Inline" and the accompanying “Inside” for layering multiple colours.

Ever since I first designed Ellida in 2005, that elaborate script in the tradition of the 18th-century English calligrapher George Bickham and the 19th-century American calligrapher Platt Rogers Spencer, I wanted to add a very high contrast cut to the family. I finally did so. But the result looks so much different to Ellida that I had to give it another name, hence "Eloise". Eloise should actually be written with a 'i' that has double dots, but that would be difficult for international use. Eloise is a beautiful first name not only for French girls. Pronounce: Ay-low-eese. If I would have had a daughter, I would have called her "Eloise" (with double dots!). But instead I have two phantastic sons, so I never got the chance to use it. This font is called "Spring Heart" which combines spring and a cozy heart. This font is a very beautiful, unique, and very easy to use calligraphy font. The embellishments on the letters are very easy to use, and besides that, there are instructions on how to use them as well. This font is perfect for spring, wedding, mother day, father day, patrick day, easter, earth day, and other projects.

Kenwyn is a bold, geometric, Egyptian style slab-serif display font. It comes in two variations — Single Dot and Double Dot — each with an accompanying Stencil variation. Essentially a blend of circles and squares, Single Dot features a circular counter at the centre of each character, while Double Dot uses a lower and upper circle. Although the two variations are similar in principle, the results are visually quite different.

Tomino is a dot serif, or a sans-serif decorated with dots. It's wide and clear, and works great in small and large sizes.

HeartMatrixed is based on a matrix of dots in the shape of little hearts. It uses the same design pattern for placing dots as Dottie.

SK Cuber™ is an expanded monumental pseudo-pixel typeface. It is based on a strict grid that is not broken in any glyph. This makes the type more organic and consistent. The type's characters are monospaced, but they do not look ridiculous and do not cause discomfort as it usually happens. This could only be achieved by carefully working out each glyph. The type also deliberately uses the contrast between geometric strokes and smooth transitions. It adds to his liveliness and character. SK Cuber is inspired by the monumental architecture of our days. It is brutal and extremely stable, which makes it an excellent font for working with posters, headlines, etc.

Now here's a font that is named Like Butterflies, but has got nothing to do with butterflies! What? Why? Well, I recently heard the song "Even flow" by Pearl Jam and took a trip down memory lane - back to my early twenties. I remember how the lyrics affected me, and had an impact on how my life changed the years to follow. Maybe the style of the font does not reflect the inner meaning of the song, but it does reflect a look back in time for me - and the change that took place. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the somewhat simple, handmade style of Like Butterflies and the 4 versions that works very well together! Please notice that each letter has got 5 slightly different versions to choose from!

Balgin brings back the nostalgic era of 90's. The 90’s were a magical time – a time of the Docs, Game Boys, and Cartoon. As everything that was once old is new again, the 90’s are making a come back. The basic of typeface are from geometric/basic shapes (Triangle, Square, Circle) form. Some character in Display font are modified, like 'R'K' stroke are more dynamic. and the tail of 'g' are more generic. Handel Slab, designed by Ralph M. Unger, is a new offering which ideally enhances and extends the existing Handel Gothic family. Even so, Handel Slab can very well be used on its own. Obviously, Handel Slab is closely based on Handel Gothic, which was designed by Don Mandel in the mid 1960s and which has been popular and successful amongst users from day one. Even today, it is a futuristic sans serif, and it is used for a wide range of typographic tasks, for example in computer games. Handel Slab provides a perfect enhancement to Handel Gothic, and the combination of both families offers more flexibility to designers and typographers.

Here is a "Decorative Braille font". The initial design was indeed drawn on a K.I.S.S digital sketchpad, the Windows default drawing tool (Microsoft Paint, classic version). A. Glyph Concept The Braille 2x3 dot matrix is weaved around a diamond-shape. a.1. Each "dot" is represented by a "right-angle isocel triangle". a.2. Braille dots in Diamond Braille a.2.I. "Dots" are outside the diamond for first Braille row (Braille dots 1, 4) and third Braille row (Braille dots 3, 6). a.2.II. "Dots" are inside the diamond for second Braillle row (Braille dots 2, 5). a.3. Diamond lattice Glyphs are connected horizontally (to/bottom diamond's corners) and vertically (left/right corners) to each other (see poster 5). a.4. Special Glyphs - Space: its is either empty ("Empty cell") or a "non Braille shape" { _, ° } depending on your display needs (as explained in b.3.II) - 6 dots: { £, =, û } - 6 empty dots: { ç, ¥ } B. Font user guide b.1. Lowercase glyphs { A..Z } In these glyphs the "dots" are represented as a white right-angle isocel triangle filled with a smaller black triangle. b.2. Connectors The connector glyphs allow the creation of "circuit like" designs (see poster 1). Here are the connector glyphs: { µ, à, â, ä, ã, è, é, ê, ë, î, ï } b.6. Domino feature Some Glyphs represent numbers 1..6 in a way which is similar than on dominos (see poster 6) C. Posters Poster 1: the "Font Logo", it displays "Diamond Braille" text together with the Connectors feature. Poster 2: a pangram which is published on pangra.me ( "Adept quick jog over frozen blue whisky mix" ). Poster 3: an illustration of the Domino feature. Poster 4: a DiamondBraille version of the Periodic table. Poster 5: illustration of the Diamond lattice using only 6 dots ( û ) and 6 empty dots ( ç ) glyphs.

A dotted script typeface Puntino is (maybe the first) dotted script typeface and not made up of grid-based dots. They are optical corrected and there is always the same distance between the dots, with the aim to create more harmonic letterforms. The dots also vary gradually in size to reflect the thickening and thinning of strokes, giving the letterforms a sophisticated overall look. Puntino comes up with 4 styles and is perfectly suited for logos, brands, congratulation cards … The language support includes Western, Central and Eastern European character sets, as well as Baltic and Turkish languages. OPEN TYPE FEATURES: Standard ligatures and contextual alternates should be activated.

When did it start. One day I was designing some stuff for a fast food café. By style the Café was made as an old Soviet canteen. So I had to do a special accent on this in menu, advertising posters and other print products. I decided to do this by interesting old school font. There are many cool retro fonts on the Internet, but not one of them satisfied me on 100%. The next step was to look at the old posters and find some inspiration. So I found some cool pictures with exact letters that I needed, but there were no typefaces to buy so that I can print some text with this exact letters. That's why I decided to do such typeface for my own. You can use this typeface in the field of nutrition, and it also will suit for cinema posters.

My son Sam saved all his pennies for a trip to Japan with me. Hi dream came true this year and we traveled around Honshu for 10 days. One of the things on his ‘to do’ list was eating yakitori, so I took him to famous Yakitori Alley in Tokyo. The setting was legendary, the smell was great, but the yakitori, unfortuntely, was so-so.. Yakitori Alley is a fun, scribbly script font with language support and a set of contextual alternates.

Appelstroop literally means ‘Apple Syrup’ in Dutch, but it is also know as Apple Butter; a slightly sweet & sour goo that you can use to sweeten things, or, as we do in Holland, spread it on a sandwich. It’s delicious, give it a try! Appelstroop font is a chunky, slightly eroded affair. It is mostly all caps, with a few lower case glyphs thrown in for good measure. Use this sticky font for your product packaging, toys and kids book covers!

Shake it DOWN! Shake it UP! Shake it OFF! Shake a LEG! You can even shake it like a polaroid picture now that Comicraft has the font that allows you to do just that, in comic book form!
