In the early years of the twentieth century a number of romans with a soft and slightly script like quality were evolved. Although they did not represent the future in terms of the major design influences that were to appear after the First World War, they were a break with the past, and were developed further in the nineteen twenties and thirties. Monotype Bernard Condensed is closely associated with this period, a condensed roman evoking an easy charm. The Monotype Bernard Condensed font offers many display applications where warmth and friendliness is required.

I have always been frustrated when looking for a bold condensed face. The choices were the usual? Helvetica Bold Condensed, Univers Bold Condensed or Alternate Gothic #2... all rather dated. I was looking for a really unique, clean, uncluttered sans serif face, so I decided to design one. I have since adapted it to many logo designs. So, in my terms and conditions, I decided to permit the modification of the letter forms for logos and monograms, but logos and monograms only, not the typeface in normal usage.

Pila, designed by Alex Jacque in 2014, is a modular, sans-serif stencil typeface that comes in regular and condensed formats. Crafted to be a bold, punchy, no-nonsense stencil typeface, Pila owes its unique look — as well as its name — to its adherence to the rigid modular system it is built upon. Pila is meant to be used at larger point sizes where visual impact is desired. Pila has a broad glyph set with the necessary characters to support a wide number of languages. Through the use of OpenType Pila can automatically create fractions as well as create superscript and subscript numerals.

Antique X Condensed is a condensed slab serif font found with the pages of a Rob Roy Kelly book of wood type designs. It was introduced around 1840 by Wells and Webb, and the example served as the model for General Merchandise JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

SlipperyFishes alternates two letter sets to create an undulating line of text that reminds me of a slippery fish. It resembles Undulate, another typeface that uses the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives (calt) to alternate letters, but while the tops and bottoms of letters in Undulate trace parallel paths, the tops and bottoms of letters in SlipperyFishes trace reflecting paths. SlipperyFishes is monospaced with tight letter spacing to accentuate the ripple pattern. The family has four members: regular, outlined, condensed, and condensed outlined. The outline styles that can be used in a layer with their base styles to add color.Slippery fishes is bizarre and weird and can be used in places where those attributes will create attention-grabbing lettering.

Font family Titla Brus was developed as an extension of Titla, released earlier in 2009. »Supra Mezzo« – designed by Gert Wiescher in 2012/13 – is an unusual addition to the Supra family, a weight in between the normal and the condensed width. This cut comes in very handy if you need to put lots of text into a relatively small space without loosing readability. The compactness with great legibility makes Supra Mezzo absolutely unique. The light and normal weights and the dominant x-height with its high ascenders make for easy reading of long copy. The heavy and x-light weights are great for elegant headlines. Here is a decorative condensed antique design that is sure to fit a variety of contemporary situations. The Bruce Type Foundry (later acquired by V. B. Munson) developed this wonderfully shaded Tuscan in the 1880s - or possibly earlier. It was known back then as Style No. 1050 and carried a pronounced three-dimensional look with a thin hairline at the bottom and right of each stroke. It is best to use Frisco Antique in large display sizes because it is easy to lose these delicate hairlines. A lowercase and several alternate characters have been provided for your convenience. The inspiration for Gridlock actually came accidentally after designing some lettering for a self-promo project and it needed something that just was condensed with visual appear. So imagining about how condensed fonts feel, I imagined them being squished together just like cars in traffic are forced to work together to make it to their end destination.
