Univers Next Arabic is designed by Lebanese designer Nadine Chahine as a companion to the Latin typeface Univers Next and with the consulting of Adrian Frutiger. It is a modern Kufi design with large open counters and low contrast. It is mainly designed to work in titles and short runs of text. Its contemporary look makes it perfect for corporate branding as well as for advertising work. It is also well suited for user interfaces and low resolution display devices. The font includes the basic Latin part of Univers Next and support for Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. It also includes proportional and tabular numerals for the supported languages.

A single-weight display font, Steel Grrrder Nutjob is an industrial-style stencil with a nut device. It’s best used in short display settings or as an introductory drop cap to grab attention. Punto is not made up of grid-based dots. They are optical corrected and there is always the same distance between the dots, with the aim to create more harmonic letterforms. The dots also vary gradually in size to reflect the thickening and thinning of strokes, giving the letterforms a sophisticated overall look. Punto comes up with 3 weights and 3 italics and is perfectly suited for logos, brands, magazines and special for signage systems and mobile devices. Up until the advent of modern packing and shipping methods, the common way to mark merchandise or other items to be transported was through the use of a brass stencil. These marking devices were hand stamped (or punched) using metal dies that were struck against sheets of brass to create the letters, numbers and other symbols [unlike the steel rule die cutting method used for manufacturing paper stencils]. One such example of an antique marking stencil had letters and numbers approximately one quarter of an inch in height, and Stamped Brass Stencil JNL recreates the design complete with the unusual variations of character shapes and widths.

This set of letters and ornaments is loosely based on on a typeface that was offered by the DeVinne Press at the turn of the century. We can speculate from its name that this type was used as a display font to try to equate the look of letters on 15th and ­16th century heraldic cartouches, seals, stamps, medals and other inscriptional lettering. The sample was digitized with an “antiqued” outline to further enhance this ancient inscriptional theme. The letters were then grouped in the font with the more traditional Roman letters as the capitals and the Lombardic forms as the miniscules. The original type sample contained some unusual 15th century inscriptional numbers which have been included as extras in the font so the user the has the option to create an authentic looking design.

KAPITAL is an elegant, geometric uppercase sans. It is available in standard and stencil style across four weights – light | regular | medium | demi – covering 346 glyphs. It is based on the capital character set from a previous release – Basik. Continuing the clean, geometric aesthetics, KAPITAL was refined further to create a more minimal style. This enabled the characters to discreetly perform their role – to simply convey the message of the writer without distraction. To achieve this, special attention was applied to the form consistency of the glyphs across the weights and negative space throughout. In many typefaces as the weight is increased the form and style can deviate significantly from the original design. With regards to negative space – although inevitable – wherever possible key letterforms were adjusted to alleviate this.

Working on The Lab late one night, evil comic book genius Scott Christian Sava realized there was something missing from his graphic experiment! Downward Fall owes its name to one of my favorite Opeth songs, called The Funeral Portrait. The song itself is an uptempo metal composition with rather dark lyrics. This peculiar combination, a mix of good and evil if you will, is what characterizes Downward Fall font: the brushwork is quick, giving the impression of speed. The undertone is darker, scarier - lots of jaggedness and decay. Downward Fall font comes with a 20.000 foot drop of diacritics.

The cold, conservative strokes of a typical sans-serif/grotesque descend into a distinctive "bat-wing drip" in this subtly spooky font named after the band for which it was originally designed. Perfect for any wordings which project darkness or menace, yet still require an air of respectability. Business in the front, evil in the back. Rick Bradley - known for his Fine Hand, Bible Script, Bradley Hand and Calligraphic Ornaments - drew this font from a gravestone in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, dated 1241. The irregularity lends a special charm to this 'English dialect' version of the international Lombardic style, while the ornamental points reflect the mediaeval 'horror vacui', fear of empty spaces where the evil one might creep in with his influences. Perhaps most useful as a display font, but complete with lower case and extras.

Recommended to use in big headlines, magazine covers, advertisements, robust public visual calls, but also, if it applied with good taste and good typographical skills, could be a good choice not only for prints but also for web and digital media devices.

Matchmaker, a modern calligraphy typeface, was inspired by the various works of modern day calligraphers. When designing AM Sans One, it was a great challenge for me to develop a modern sans serif, which despite the large number of existing fonts in this sector has its own unique character. Starting point for the design concept was the cap O, designed as a rectangle with rounded corners, and not as usual as a circle or oval. The O should form the basis for the whole alphabet. Another feature are the characters with oblique starting and end strokes such as "A, V, W". These have not exactly straight, diagonal lines, but have a slight curvature. Thus, these letters do not look too geometric. Also the cap K deviates slightly from the usual shape which makes AM Sans One different from other already existing fonts. I could well imagine applying this font for areas such as engineering or architecture.

According to designer David Farey, Cachet is a monospaced, monostroke typeface -- that isn't."" Why the sleight of hand? Typefaces that are limited to a single character and stroke width suffer in terms of legibility. Farey's goal in drawing Cachet was to create a typeface that gives the illusion of monospacing, while delivering a subliminal dose of reader-friendliness. At first glance, Cachet appears to be constructed of straight and nearly-straight strokes. A closer look, however, reveals several subtleties. Curved strokes have an almost calligraphic spontaneity. Places where character strokes meet are tapered slightly, while stroke ends have been flared. These quiet deviations from geometric uniformity give the design a human, organic, and decidedly non-digital look. An added benefit is that the subtle design modulation benefits readability. Farey's subtle design modulation results in a legible and highly usable new typeface.

Malden Sans is a mischievous grotesque sans serif with charming details that gives designers a solid typographic voice.
