Roos ST is a special version of the Roos family, engineered specifically for science writing. Phototype allowed operators to position millimeters, on the fly, letter after letter: words, sentences according to the specifications of the art director. ITC Silvermoon was designed by Akira Kobayashi in the style of the advertisements of the 1920s. Art Deco was the artistic movement which marked the years between the two world wars, combining elements of Jugenstil, futurism and east Asian influences. This font carries on in that tradition. The small, high reaching figures with their elegant forms and reserved but distinguishing loops give Silvermoon its unmistakable look. Kobayashi designed this font in two weights, regular and bold. To retain the elegance of the bold weight, the consistent stroke width of the regular weight was exchanged for contrasting strokes. In the basic version of the typeface, all glyphs have simple chopped shapes, created according to the usual geometric principles. In the alternative version of TT Tunnels, which becomes available when you turn on OpenType feature stylistic alternates or stylistic set 1, the typeface comes to life and turns into a stylized ductal gothic grotesque, in which the design of glyph forms is created based on the pen movements. Despite the fact that TT Tunnels was created as a display typeface for use in short inscriptions and titles, it works very interestingly in the body text, adding a small touch of archaics. This is especially evident in the Bold and Black faces, when the rhythm and thickness of the strokes create a dense set, covering the paper with a solid, dense pattern. The density and style of such a set conceptually refers us to the old Gothic texture and the Old Slavonic script. Both fonts of the Remus family are complete redesigns of turn-of-the-century fonts. The regular style is based upon an inhouse design of Schelter & Giesecke in 1889, called Romanisch. This font was adopted by other German foundries and slightly modified and a bold version was added. Due to their proportions, these fonts fit perfectly into narrow columns, and still they are very legible. In January 2023, an Italic style was added. Here too it is recommended to use both ligature features Standard and Discretionary.

An informal, rather bold typeface without serifs, Mushmellow looks like it might have been written with a marker pen. In addition to the plain and bold weights, it comes with outline and “cactus” variants.

The Section Bold Condensed font is patterned with lines dividing each letter into small sections. Section Bold Condensed is a headline face with uses ranging from book titles on technological subjects to embroidery books.

The 1913 sheet music for "There's A Girl in the Heart of Maryland (with a Heart That Belongs to Me)" may have had no shortage of words in the title - fifteen to be exact, but it also offered some nice hand lettering in the Art Nouveau style. Maryland JNL is a condensed typeface with an unusual twist. The "S" and "G" both have spurs on them, which is reminiscent of the preceding Victorian period and the popular spurred Tuscan alphabets of the time.

A typographic treasure, originated at the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century, had been brought back to life. With its charming touch it makes a wonderful font for poems, bookcovers, reprints and other historically relevant projects. To get access to all ligatures, it is recommended to activate both Standard and Discretionary Ligatures; the round s you find on the # key, and typing the combination N-o-period and activating the OT feature Ordinals gets you the numero sign.

Hieroglyphs were a pictorial alphabet used in Ancient Egypt from 3100 BC to approximately 300 AD. I've had mixed feelings about Kabel; It is a brilliant headline font with a lot of character, but it's the characters I have problems with. The versions of all big foundries have the same flaws (in my opinion), especially lowecase a and s. So I finally went ahead and made an all new version. It is not Kabel, but very much like it. It has unique x-height, weight and width, and many individual characters are also different from the original.

In the 70's I went out with a girl whose father was a card-carrying member of 3 of the biggest unions in the printing arts. He gave me 2 things, a pre-war Linotype specimen book and an ancient 'how to' lettering book that contained 30 or 40 script specimens from lettering artists of the time. Tiamaria is the developed glyphs of one of these specimens. Tiamaria is the name of one of the islands in the Galapagos chain.
