This font is a slightly calligraphic roman font with one major difference. Bandung is home to numerous examples of Dutch colonial architecture, most notably the tropical Art Deco architectural style. This typeface was adapted from the finest Art Deco landmarks and signage in Bandung, Indonesia and strongly added native elements of traditional Art Deco typefaces style. The main character is an example of a harmonious mixture between West and East architectural styles, repackaged into the Art Deco type design. With two different styles, it comes as regular and Deco styles, the regular style is constructed with all caps setting, with some different characters between uppercase and lowercase. The Deco style uses more stripes in the right shapes, it was naturally inspired with the most common art deco typefaces. The additional Opentype Features loaded in this typeface; some stylistic alternates, accessible catchwords in the discretionary ligatures, and the art deco ornaments, This typeface is highly usable with large scaling size and will fit with posters, movie titles, and signage designs.

For many decades, the fashion magazine “Vogue” featured superbly illustrated covers before photography became more commonplace. During the 1930s and 1940s those illustrations were accompanied by many creative styles of hand lettering for its monthly issues. The January, 1930 cover had the magazine’s name lettered in an Art Deco geometric monoline, which became the inspiration for Vagary JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. A vagary [in a simple sense] is when something or someone changes in an erratic or unexpected way (as the wind’s direction or in a person’s mood or whim)… and thus seemed the fitting name for this type style.

Bouclé is a monoline decorative typeface family of three subfamilies—Plain, Round and Loopy. Plain and Round come in two weights—regular and bold. Bouclé Plain, as its name states, has minimal decorative features in comparison with Bouclé Round, and especially Bouclé Loopy. Thus, Bouclé Plain fonts could be better used for display text purposes. Round and Loopy fonts are reserved for highly decorative cases.

RensGazet is a decorative blackletter typeface with elaborate upper-case letters and condensed lower-case characters. It was inspired by the masthead of a short-lived weekly newspaper, The Rensselaer Gazette, which was published from 1857 until 1860. I could not find any existing digitized fonts that replicated this old typeface, so I decided to create an interpretation of it. I had samples of few letters in large point sizes and a number of others at a small point size, though these were blurry and not sharply defined. As a result, this typeface is undoubtedly considerably different from the original. Also, my spacing is much tighter than that in the source samples.

Similar to what Lian did in his last font Breathe , Reina was designed to be playful yet formal: While none of its alternates are activated it can be useful for short to medium length texts; and when the user chooses to make use of its open-type decorative glyphs, it can be useful for headlines with dazzling results. TECHNICAL Reina is a family with many members. In order to achieve better results when printing, Lian took his time to design the necessary styles: Reina 72 Pro, prepared for display sizes; Reina 36 Pro, for medium sizes; and Reina 12 Pro, the best for text or decorative words in small size. Each of these members have variants inside, which are open-type programmed: The user decides which glyph to alternate, equalizing the amount of decoration wanted. Reina Engraved Pro has the same features than the variants mentioned above. The family also contains variants which were made exclusively for decoration. These are: Reina Words, a set of the most common words used in english, german, italian, french and spanish; Reina Capitals, which consists in a big set of ornamented capitals; and Reina Fleurons, those little friends which always help to embellish our work.
