Hannover Modern belongs to a series of typefaces used at the Estudio Mariscal in Barcelona. José Manuel Urós developed this weight, a vigorous egyptian-style, the embodiment of the Javier Mariscal style.

Enza is a display font designed by José José Villamizar. Its design stems from the typographic exploration for the realization of the identity of a company aimed at entrepreneurs in the millennium generation. It’s a family of five weights composed of 455 glyphs. includes Thin, Light, Medium, Bold and Black styles. It also includes stylistic alternates, fractions, and ligatures. Its use is recommended for titles, semicondensed texts or short, and elements of visual communication large phrases. It is also ideal for creating logos, in packaging, signboards and poster design.

Futurum Parqez is the first collaborative font for Parquillian Design. The idea for this font first came to the creator, Jose V Lopez, almost 40 years ago. A couple years ago he shared his concepts and we were gradually able to collaborate on editing the designs and turn them into a working font. The philosophy behind the font is to use a standardized frame format and the fewest strokes possible, while maintaining legibility, to create an original minimalist and modern style.

Alinea is a typeface in 3 styles (Sans, Incise, and Serif) conceived for being mixed in the same document. Alinea incise is a flare serif (incise in French). It finds its origin in the roman letters carved in stone. The great advantage of such a style is that it can be associated to any other style of typeface. The most famous flare serifs are: Optima of Hermann Zapf, Pascal of José Mendoza, Amerigo of Gerard Unger and Alinea Incise of course!

A bold, friendly, impactful typeface. Ideal for filling with graphics and textures and layering with other type. Named in reference to the generously proportioned Alfred Hitchcock (born in Leytonstone). Leyton was designed to be as fat and punchy as possible without losing legibility. Being a lefty makes it challenging to write in cursive. Unlike righthanders who pull the pencil across the page, lefties must push the pencil as they write. As a result, the letterforms created by pushing instead of pulling the implement are different from each other. The lefty’s cursive script is seen here in Yellabelly, the fontified version of Chank Diesel’s left-handed handwriting. This one’s named after a cowardly cowboy.

Vulcano is the mesmerising creation of Salvador –Tori– Alimbau, the one-type-man who gave us this maze. José Manuel Urós took months to devise a negative-positive system for these characters. Hypnotic, charming sophisticated.

As its name suggests, PlainPensle is a handwriting font that emulates printing and writing with a pencil or ballpoint pen. The plain and bold styles have hand printing that is ordinary and nondescript. The italics and bolditalics contain simple handwritten cursive.

Based on a font design by Les Usherwood called Eldorado, we had to change the name because Linotype has a dissimilar typeface of the same name!

Font naming is not all that difficult. Take Printout for example. I was busy working on this font, when my niece came over with a poem she needed to have printed. One of her classmates had the same request (they’re writing poems for our national Remembrance Day). As I was printing out these poems, I thought the name Printout would be perfect for the font I was working on. See? It’s not rocket science! Printout is a totally awesome, completely handmade font. I used an almost dried out Japanese brush pen to get the eroded effect. Maybe I should name my next font ‘Dried Out Brush Pen’? I’ll let you know.

Burlesk Queen JNL was inspired by the hand lettered title “Gypsy” on the sheet music for "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from the movie musical based on the autobiography of famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. With just four basic letters to work with [G,Y,P and S], a full character set was drawn from scratch. The design features bold spur serif characters on individual ‘marquees’ bordered with lights. Burlesk Queen One JNL is the original version with white characters on black panels, while Burlesk Queen Two JNL has those panels stripped away to provide black letters on a white background.

Guaruja Grotesk is the first Tipogra Fio family for headlines & body copy. The grotesque form factor is much inspired in the Modernism movement from the mid of 20th Century but the Italic weight is a great cursive contrast aside the Roman ones so you can make very brutalist layouts or craft humanist projects, without losing the communication between all the family. Do not be afraid to type words with uppercase I and lowercase L because this last one has its own personality so do others glyphs like Italic lowercase G, Y and K and the straight corners in the Roman uppercase A, K, V, W, X, Y and Z. The same curves and corners are transferred to the numbers, symbols and so on. If your text is in a latin alphabet even though has lots of diacritcs, Guaruja may get it done! If you’re making a mathematical equation, it also can make it. If there’s a signaling project with lots of destinations, trust the arrows to help with together with the whole family.

Spiggie is a sans-serif, whose name came to me on a Shetland beach. The beach traces a tight curve between the shoreline and the sea paralleled in the fonts controlled yet smooth character. The design language reaches back to the art deco period and the 1920s, yet retains a distinct modern flavor.

When we asked Dave Gibbons to name the typestyle he created for the sound effects in GIVE ME LIBERTY, he must've thought we were kidding. Rosewind is an elegant, full-featured script font with tons of alternate characters and OpenType features. The name Rosewind is inspired by the rose behind the house that is often blown off. It is a hand-lettered style and is particularly well-suited to invitations, branding, and editorial design. The OpenType features can be very easily accessed by using OpenType-savvy programs such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.

While there can be similar handwriting styles out there, no two handwritings are exactly the same. I like to think that I have the same handwriting style as my father, but I had never seen him write with lowercase letters, only in all capitals, except when signing his name on something in cursive. I recently came across a letter my father had written long ago to a friend. It was returned to sender, yet he kept it intact. The letter primarily thanked his friend for his hospitality when my father unexpectedly dropped in for a visit while traveling. I was so taken by the handwriting, that I decided to make it into a font, not only to remember my father, but also to forever preserve his handwriting. Generous Hospitality not only taps into the character of the person the letter was written to, it also reflects the personality of my father. If you are looking for a masculine handwriting type style for your designs, I think this font could be a nice fit.

Bertolessi is a Roman face made fun, with a healthy dose of filigree curves thrown into the mix. It's an ideal compliment to our extensive Bertoni family, but can be used anywhere a bit of humour and flair is required. Get with the curls!

Carter Sans: a wonderfully accomplished humanist sans serif with a beautiful twist Matthew Carter has been involved in designing typefaces since before many of us were in diapers. With dozens of great typefaces to his name, he has finally put his name to one. His newest typeface, Carter Sans™, brings together those decades of wisdom, experience, and technical expertise. The result is a humanist sans with flared strokes and terminals, a feature that has more in common with the chisel rather than the broad nib pen. Galangal, or Laos, is a root belonging to the ginger family, which is used in Indonesian cuisine. Since this font has the same design characteristics as Kurkuma, I thought naming it after a root was quite appropriate. Galangal is pretty unique, with thin and fat areas, bizarre glyphs and rough edges. Upper and lower case are fully interchangeable and the typeface comes with a full range of diacritics.

Gerücht Typeface is a family of digital fonts designed in 2019 by Gabriele Bellanca for Rumors Foundry in three different weights and their corresponding slanted versions. All rights reserved. Gerücht (in English rumor) is the name of the font-family: today the name of a font is part of the graphic design itself, unlike in the past, where it usually consisted of a simple retrospective description (such as in the case of Gothic Condensed No.2) of its characteristics. It's a "one-word advertising slogan", writes Tobias Frere-Jones, which serves to build an idea and a charm to associate with that type of character.

ITC Zinzinnati is based on a font called Ohio, released in 1924 by Die Schriftguss A.G. Typical of the Plakatstil letterforms of the time, the original font had a rough outline, as if drawn with a brush. Nick Curtis has smoothed the rough edges, which enhances the design's playful curves and engaging charm. As for the name: it's the punchline to an old vaudeville routine that starts with the question, Name a city in Ohio that begins with a 'Z.'" Pie in the face, comin' atcha!"

Carte Blanche literally means 'Blank Ticket'. Yeah, yeah, it is also a very 007-ish catchphrase, but I wanted to give this elegant font a 'stylish' name and Carte Blanche popped up. All glyphs were hand drawn on a rather expensive piece of heavy-weight paper and were put into the font in between changing nappies, bouts of the flu and the subsequent wiping of snotty noses. Carte Blanche speaks most Roman-based languages - albeit nasally…

Snow Job JNL was inspired by the hand lettered titles for the 1964 Rankin-Bass animated holiday classic "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". Because of the variable heights of the characters they float about the baseline in a free-form design. Available in both regular and oblique versions, the typeface gets its name from both the winter theme of the TV special along with the old term for deceiving someone with compliments while hiding one's true intent.
