Eponymous is an Egyptian-style typeface with chunky, scalloped serifs. It is available in five weights in both roman and italic. I have always loved slab serif type and have created Eponymous to fulfil a yearning for a versatile, stylish and contemporary slab face. A key design characteristic is the implementation of scalloped serifs which, to me, imbues the typeface with a distinctive personality. Make use of the Open Type features that are part of Eponymous. For a start, you can implement some stylistic alternates, so, if the main characters don’t quite suit your concept, try activating Stylistic Set 1. There’s also a full set of small caps included. You can mix and match these characters with regular lowercase to create some interesting unicase typography. Of course, all characters have complementing diacritics, enabling multi-language support. The Morgan Project can be considered a big type family with ‘many styles’ or a set of different types that match with each other. For me it’s one typeface with different versions with deliberate and visible differences according to the propose to which each version was created. The design started in 2000 as a display type with the design of the Morgan Tower, to which more two display versions were added; Morgan Poster and Morgan Big — all together the make our: FTF Morgan Display Kit 1. All three versions consist only in uppercase with alternate letters in the lowercase and a set of special ligatures. Morgan Tower has four variants that differ in width/weight, Morgan Poster has six variants (often called styles), three weights in upright and oblique and Morgan Big has twelve, six weights in upright and oblique. Lately, the FTF Morgan Tex Kit 1 was added. Apropriate versions to use in text setting. Both versions, FTF Morgan Sans and FTF Morgan Sans Condensed share the same structure and character mapping. Four variants each; regular, bold, oblique and bold oblique with a large character set including: small caps, lining and old style figures (here called Office figures) — both tabular —, small caps lining figures, mathematical symbols and fraction figures, and, a set of foreign characters expanding the possibilities of use for a wider range of languages. Lotter blackletter with Drop caps One fine day I found a vintage book, it called “A treatise by the Dominican friar-writer Marcus von Weida on the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary”. It was printed in 1515 by Melchior Lotter in Leipzig. The text was illustrated by hand-colored engravings on religious and liturgical themes and beautiful initials I like. Lotter was the last name of a family of German printers, intimately connected with the Reformation. An innovation by the elder Lotter was his use of Roman types for Latin, reserving the Gothic types for German. I'm happy to present to you my new font family. Fortuita is a versatile sans fit for text or display. The name carries some of its history as it was born from logo sketches that fortuitously grew into a type family over eight years. It comes with a tall x-height, rendering it readable at smaller sizes. It has sixteen weights, eight regular ones, and their italics, each with small caps, something you may not see very often with sans serifs. It counts with old-style numbers that can switch to its lining, small caps, or tabular versions through open-type features. The family carries a distinct personality in its design that will lend itself to its subject, all the while without becoming distracting or detracting from it.

Yolk is an Eggcentric Sans Serif Typeface consisting of nine weights in both roman and italic. Essentially, this is a geometric sans typeface that has been inspired by the shape and proportions of an egg. With its bottom-heavy glyphs, Yolk has an unusual personality – it’s not too awkward to be off-putting, and it’s not too uniform to be associated with the myriad of generic geometric sans fonts that are available. Tuscan X Condensed (whose actual name is Gothic Concave Tuscan Extra Condensed) was first produced in wood type by William H. Page & Company around 1872. The design is derived from a Gothic Condensed typeface, but with vertical stokes bowing inwards at the center. We modified the weight of the uppercase characters (since the original wood type has a lowercase much thinner than the caps) to harmonize with the lowercase when used digitally.

Front Row JNL is an all-caps reinterpretation of Morris Fuller Benton's 1937 type design "Empire", and is available in both regular and oblique versions. As is often the case when a digital type font is based on a few letter examples found on a printed sample [in this case, the sheet music of the 1946 Guy Lombardo hit "What More Can I Ask For"], the missing characters were drawn from scratch.

Konung (konge, koning, ~king) – appointed guardian who is trusted to transfer the Wisdom (Kon) to a new land. Konung is a friendly type, which is an amalgam of several writing culture. Mercury Script is an action packed type family of three weights. Click on Swash, Contextual or Stylistic alternates in any Open type savvy application for plenty of extra grooviness and combine with Mercury Ornaments for superb results. Turn on Small Caps to activate a complete set of block capitals designed to go with the font. Mercury Script is based loosely on hand lettering found in a vintage lingerie advertisement, only containing the words “light control”.

Spekta is an unorthodox Neo-Grotesk typeface devoted to versatility and beauty. Originally designed as an all-caps display typeface influenced by Bauhaus and early grotesque forms, Spekta switched priorities and evolved into a well-equipped 8-weight workhorse boasting 667 characters and italics to boot. Spekta’s focus on condensed forms and a greater x-height and cap height difference compared to typical Grotesque types allows for increased legibility at smaller sizes while utilising less horizontal space. Despite this, Spekta respects its display-type roots with elegant forms influenced by a mix of early and modern Grotesque typefaces and countless trial-and-error. Additionally, two sets of diacritics (marks such as acutes, graves, circumflexes, and so on) have been designed to further improve readability and reading flow, an atypical feature for most typefaces. The rustic lettering which also served as the model for Grist Mill JNL is the basis for Gristwood JNL. Another set of vintage wood type has the letters reversed out of blocks, making for a specialty titling font. Decorative end caps are located on the greater and less than keys and also on the plus and equal keys. A blank block for regular word spacing is on the underscore key, along with a wider blank box on the backslash key. This typeface has a somewhat limited character set.

Insomniac is a tall, narrow, handwritten typeface. A little rough, a little shaky, a little uneven. The idea for this font came to me in the middle of the night - hence the name. Insomnia is an all caps font, but upper and lower case differ and glyphs can be freely interchanged. Comes with a diacritics dream team.

Estimo is an unusual, yet elegant type family of three styles in five weights. Originally developed as upper-case-only family, Estimo was inspired by the works of Bulgarian type and graphic designers in 1980’s. It is characterized by its lack of diagonal strokes (wherever possible), thus experimenting with letterforms without losing legibility. Futurum Parqez is the first collaborative font for Parquillian Design. The idea for this font first came to the creator, Jose V Lopez, almost 40 years ago. A couple years ago he shared his concepts and we were gradually able to collaborate on editing the designs and turn them into a working font. The philosophy behind the font is to use a standardized frame format and the fewest strokes possible, while maintaining legibility, to create an original minimalist and modern style.

Happenstance came out of a play session with Bezier curves with a sense of fun built into its being. First came play, then came work. Thomas Edison once said,”Creativity is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” Nikola Tesla thought the opposite. In this case, what started as inspiration took a lot of perspiration to corral into a usable font. So maybe the reality is a) different for different people or b) somewhere in the middle. Just sayin’.

Extenda is a variable width sans serif type family designed by Francesco Canovaro with Andrea Tartarelli and Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini.It been created to provide designers with a powerful but flexible tool to create strong headlines, logos, and display text with tight spacing and maximum space coverage. Richard Lipton’s inspiration for Englewood came from the calligraphic hand of Philip Grushkin. Lipton has always admired his somewhat loose but disciplined hand and felt that it was worthy of keeping this style alive in a typeface that could be a somewhat accurate emulation of the warmth and life found in these letterforms. Spontaneity is a challenge to capture in a type treatment but with Englewood, Lipton hopes to honor Mr. Grushkin with a design that works especially well for an invitation, a menu, or in any display setting that calls for an informal calligraphic hand. This single weight display script includes small caps — somewhat of a rarity for a handwritten script — for flexible typesetting, along with 42 alternates that include 18 contextual ligatures to simulate the appearance of spontaneous writing.

“Greuceanu” is the the name of a brave romanian fairy tale character and his mission was to eliberate de Sun and the Moon that were stolen by some Dragon like creatures that in romanian folklore they are called “ Zmei”. It inspired me to create this decorative uppercase display typeface with strong influences from old cyrillic writing and also a touch of fun and geometrical construction explorations. Besides Extended Latin Support it includes also Cyrillic and Greek alphabets as you already can expect from most of DePlictis Types releases. This decorative typeface goes well for use in book covers and headlines and only your creativity is the limit of its usability.

Some years ago, a good friend and typophile, Gonzalo García Barcha, approached me with the idea of designing a typeface for his editorial project Blacamán Ediciones. He had just came across an hitherto unknown manuscript by Luis Lagarto, a colonial illuminator and scribe, working in Mexico City and Puebla in the late 1500s. The manuscript calligraphy was incredible and stunningly original. It featured three different hands by the scribe, intermingled in the text: a kind of baroque «Roman» roundhand; a very ornate, lively «Italic»; and some sort of irregular, playful, even funny «small caps». All imbued with an eccentric, convoluted zest and vivacious rhythm. Lagarto is the final result of translating these extraordinary hands into a digital type family. Since the manuscript had no numerals, math signs and many other characters now in use, part of the fun of the job was to infer them from the stylistic peculiarities of Luis Lagarto's calligraphy. Lagarto received an Award of Excellence at the Type Directors Club of New York annual competition.

Since the release of these fonts most typefaces in the Scangraphic Type Collection appear in two versions. One is designed specifically for headline typesetting (SH: Scangraphic Headline Types) and one specifically for text typesetting (SB Scangraphic Bodytypes). The most obvious differentiation can be found in the spacing. That of the Bodytypes is adjusted for readability. That of the Headline Types is decidedly more narrow in order to do justice to the requirements of headline typesetting. The kerning tables, as well, have been individualized for each of these type varieties. In addition to the adjustment of spacing, there are also adjustments in the design. For the Bodytypes, fine spaces were created which prevented the smear effect on acute angles in small typesizes. For a number of Bodytypes, hairlines and serifs were thickened or the whole typeface was adjusted to meet the optical requirements for setting type in small sizes. For the German lower-case diacritical marks, all Headline Types complements contain alternative integrated accents which allow the compact setting of lower-case headlines.
