The award-winning Scala family (1990-1993) is a worldwide bestseller and has established itself as a ‘classic’ among digital fonts. It was one of the first serious digital text fonts to support small caps, ligatures and different set of numbers. In fact Scala and Scala Sans (1990-1993) are two different typefaces sharing a common form principle: the skeletons of both Scala and Scala Sans are identical. Scala’s dark colour and low contrast works to prevent the thin parts from breaking up. The generous length of Scala italic’s serifs gives it a strong rhythm. The bold weight has the same character widths as the normal weight, so changing a text from normal into bold does not affect the set width. Another part of Scala is very popular among its users: Scala Hands, containing more than one hundred decorative hands and pointers, is a free bonus. Scala Jewels is a set of four highly decorative typefaces, based on the bold capitals of Scala.

The first Tuscan lettering was penned in the mid-fourth century by the calligrapher Furius Dionysius Filocalus. The style was still in common usage as calligraphy when Vincent Figgins designed the first Antique Tuscan for print in 1817. Antique and Gothic Tuscan woodtype fonts appeared in the 1830’s. By the 1850’s, Tuscan fonts had become popular in America. These styles continued in print use into the twentieth century. Tuscan Antique and Gothic styles, borrowed from print and calligraphy, were perfect for signs, posters, handbills and other large format advertising. Sign painter, Frank Atkinson demonstrated several Tuscan forms in his book Sign Painting, A Complete Manual. Modified & Spurred Tuscan Romans were inspired by this and other works of the same period.

Centrale Sans Condensed is not just a "squished" version of our Centrale Sans family, it's designed as a stand alone typeface with the family characteristics in mind. It bears all the qualities of the normal width being even friendlier because of the closer relation it has with the humanist model. The condensed width is with 15% narrower than its normal sibling, which makes it precious space-saving tool. Chimphand is an organic, natural and contemporary handwritten typeface with their tall x-height. Weights of light, regular and bold for both normal width and condensed allow you to play with the typeface more. In addition, you will have an access to their style sets ( Gap ) to add stencil-ish character to every weights. This gap style is much more subtle than normal stencils, but unique and nicely fit to the typeface. Gaps are more visible on larger fonts and bolder weights.
