  5. Beverly Shores Script SG by Spiece Graphics, $39.00
If you take the South Shore Line from Chicago to South Bend, your train will pass though the small community of Beverly Shores, Indiana. The beautifully restored and highly colorful “Beverly Shores” train station sign not far from the Lake Michigan beach is the source of inspiration for this connecting script typeface. The sign’s existing ten letters have now been extended to include the entire alphabet. This old-fashioned depot letterstyle is much in the spirit of such faces as Fulton Sign and Inserat Cursive. Ascenders and descenders have been lengthened and capitals are now much larger. Alternate lowercase swashes, capitals, and small figures have been included for your convenience. And custom uphill words such as “The,” “for,” and “to” have been added for more novelty and spark in headline settings. Beverly Shores Script with Alternates is also available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters including old style figures have been added to this OpenType version. Advanced features currently work in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress 7. Check for OpenType advanced feature support in other applications as it gradually becomes available with upgrades. All aboard for Beverly Shores!
  6. Delfin Scripts by Eclectotype, $40.00
Delfino Script is a cool, connecting script that can appear both retro and contemporary. Curved on the outsides of strokes, and jagged inside, the forms look like an abstraction of strips of tape, folding and flowing, or even marker pen style lettering. This script is not created by any pen though - its forms are constructed, not painted. Typographic features like ink traps add sparkle to the text. OpenType features include ligatures, contextual alternates (for more realistic connections) and stylistic sets. Stylistic Set 1 changes certain upper case letters into forms more suited for all caps setting, although they can also be used freely with the lower case. Set 2 changes the r into a less scripty form and set 3 adds a connecting tail to the q. Delfino Script would find itself at home in cookery books, fashion blogs, vintage car magazines and set large and proud on expanses of concrete, or, most likely, whatever you might have in mind for it! Delfina Script is practically identical to Delfino save for round tittles, periods and any other dot shaped glyph components. Strangely for such a little change, it does seem to give the face a different character.

Felfel is an Arabic typeface inspired by the rich history of the Arabic Ruq’ah, one of the most widely used Arabic calligraphy styles, but with a modern pinch influenced by the visual identity of Egyptian streets. Born from the fundamental need in the Arabic design scene, Felfel is made to celebrate the elegance and timeliness of Arabic calligraphy while solving the problem of the cascading nature of Ruq’ah that results in increased line spacing. Felfel is space-friendly, perfect for headlines and quotes. Felfel supports major Arabic-script-based languages and covers Arabic, Hindu, and Farsi numbers. Like Traditional Ruq'a, Felfel works with the same context, but it adjusts to your needs without the rigidity of Ruqa’ah’s slanted baseline to give you the flow, beauty, and richness of the Arabic calligraphy with a modern feel. Felfel is dynamic. A substantial part of the font is based on versatile components, that minimizes characters and maximizes possibilities. the dots are in motion! 16. Organic Pro by Positype, $29.00
When I released the original Organic in 2009, I was satisfied with it. It was what was possible from me and the technology at the time. The Organic Pro of 2021 takes those original desires of delivering a highly legible and friendly sans serif, and doubles down on those notions, while exploring what further infusing warmth in a highly structured sans serif can really do for a client. Free of distracting and potentially dating visual traits and cues that could be seen as endemic of a specific time period or ‘type trend’, Organic Pro is its own person—take it or leave it. Inviting warmth, assured reliability, and a head nod of confidence is what you walk away with—a stark contrast to the cold, impersonal geometrics and grotesques proliferating the design annuals currently. Releasing this typeface now, completely redrawing the masters, as well as expanding the weight and language options, should be seen as a laid back challenge that we need to do less with type, let it communicate confidently and warmly when it needs to, and stop forcing one-size-fits-all type trends on everyone.

Its high legibility and clear informative and technological appearance are perfectly suitable for infographics, signage and way-finding systems. And especially when embedded in app, gaming and infotainment software it will display its strength. While the upright styles communicate a clear, instructional and informative message, the italics express an industrial, dynamic and forward-thinking spirit. An extensive language support, several figure sets and a wide range of OpenType Features will make the URW Dock font family a perfectly suitable partner for a wide range of print, web and app projects.
  18. Montague Script by Stephen Rapp, $59.00
Montague Script takes its name from a small hilltown of western Massachusetts rich in culture and history. I lived in this beloved community for a number of years and it’s where I first began my study of calligraphy and lettering. While most brush scripts take their cue from mid-twentieth century samples, Montague Script is a fresh, contemporary alternative. It comes directly from lettering written with a #3 sable brush on smooth vellum and is digitized with the same sensibility a lettering artist writes with. Montague reflects a dynamic interplay between form and rhythm not usually associated with type. Words suggest a baseline, yet are not bound by it. Beginnings, endings, alternates and ligatures come in as needed while you type. Many more alternates are available in the glyph palette of most current graphic software. Exuberant swash versions of upper and lowercase letters, as well as ligatures can be accessed through both the type and glyph palettes. Montague Script is a natural for advertising, point of purchase displays, packaging and logo design, cards, invitations, journals and much more. You will be delighted at how well it can dress up a project and how easily it sets.

  38. Utily Sans by Latinotype, $39.00
Utily Sans emerges from the question: "What would the world be like if Paul Renner had had greater inclination towards humanism rather than geometry?" Utily Sans glyph proportions and shapes make it suitable for long-form text. This typeface shows geometric simplicity with humanist shapes. It looks like Futura, but has a feel closer to Garamond. Utily Sans is composed of 6 weights with their matching italics, an alternate character set that brings it back to its geometric origin, uppercase discretionary ligatures for expressive titles, as well as small caps, lining figures and old style numbers. These features make the font well-suited for large and small sized compositions, for short or long text. Utily Sans is the first Latinotype font with Cyrillic support, additional to the usual support for over 200 Latin-based languages.
  39. Acantis by Eurotypo, $34.00
Acantis is a strong script font with a vintage look inspired by the lettering designs of the 1980s but updated for today's projects. Acantis is the perfect mix of elegance and informality. Open Type features include a full complement of international characters, standard and contextual alternatives, swashes, stylistic sets, standard and discretionary ligatures. All of this makes the text lively and animated, without the monotony of obviously repeating letterforms. Also, we've included some ornaments designed to support the font, some were specially designed to be combined with the letters for a "more calligraphic" effect (access them via the glyphs palette). Acantis can be the choice to create titles, logos and posters for branding and packaging purposes, invitations, greeting cards, magazine and book covers, children's supplies, fashion, and wherever you want!
