A somewhat wild, modernistic poster font. A lot of fun. Great for designing skateboards or doing rock posters.

Typeface designer and Letraset type director Colin Brignall created the font Romic. The character of the strokes as well as the serif forms give the font its calligraphic look. The placement of the serifs, on the upper left and lower right of a character, also distinguishes this typeface and allows the figures to be set very close to one another. The dots on the i and j do not hang in the air, rather, they are connected to the rest of the letter with a light, serif-like stroke. The elegant and lively Romic font is legible even in smaller point sizes. It is best used in middle length texts and headlines and wherever an individual and sophisticated image is the goal.

Its inspiration comes from the types without serifs, with features ranging from architecture to modernist design products. What distinguishes them it’s that the STP Stencil Cyrillic can be applied more easily anytime, anywhere, increasing the possibility of being used in a more craft and artistic way. Since it has characteristics of a stencil font, it brings a more urban and contemporary look, which makes ideal to use it in public spaces with large circulation of people. Popular music of the early 1900s included a genre called two step; round dances utilizing a sliding step with a tempo in either march or polka time. 1911's "Daughters of the American Revolution" was one such march/two step. The cover of the sheet music had the title hand lettered in a slightly rounded sans serif type design in the Art Nouveau style popular during that era.
