Monogamma is an experimental typeface which explores opportunities for harmonious connection of broad nib writing and the aesthetics of monospaced typefaces. The typeface is primarily designed for headings and typesetting in large sizes. It is not intended for technical usage, therefore its metrics and characters proportions are optimized and the spacing between letters is optically evened out. Thereby, Monogamma has even letter spacing, contrasting styles and is free from the imperfections of monospaced fonts. It is supplied with kerning and OpenType features and comes in three weights, with full character set or capitals only. Supporting Latin and Cyrillic, it covers most European languages. Donna Lena is a chancery cursive, feminine in character. Elegant and timeless, this font marks the return of the classical canons of the Renaissance thanks to its open forms and the clear-cut ends, while recalls the graceful ways and the intense gaze of the ladies that populate the Florentine paintings in the sixteenth century. Handlettering discovered on a 1937 brochure for the Dutch Mails Shipping Company provided guidance in developing this rather unusual but commanding typeface, marked by strong geometric shapes and a very large x-height.

Negative sans-serif capitals in squares with rounded corners, looking like tiles, pushbuttons or computer keys. The font can be used for logos, signs and labels, and for markings on maps and charts.

The hand-lettered name of the "Junior Showcard Printer" (a 1930s-era rubber stamp printing set manufactured by the Superior Marking Equipment Company of Chicago) served as the prototype for Junior Printer JNL.

This cuddly face is based very loosely on Dave Farey's Beesknees. This version is a little more regimented but no less fun, and is notable for the addition of a lower case, not found in Farey's design. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Plakat is based on lettering by 1920s advertising calligrapher Samuel Welo. It is a complete upper and lower case set with a number of alternate characters, all with a rough, decorative look accented by curls and hooks. If you like the look of our popular Scurlock font, Plakat has a similar aesthetic, though it is even bolder.

Its name, CrippledFont, might lead you to think that this font was missing important characters. It is not. Rather it is a letterbat font composed of crutches and canes. It is caps only, with the lower-case keys having an alternative set of capitals. It has an extensive set of accented letters that will support most European languages.

Gradle Nr. 1 is yet another new art nouveau design in the URW++ library. It was reworked, redesigned, completed and digitally remastered by Ralph M. Unger for URW++, based on hand-drawn upper case characters by M. J. Gradl, about in 1900. Gradl Nr. 1 is a caps-only font perfectly suited for posters and signage.

Insomniac is a tall, narrow, handwritten typeface. A little rough, a little shaky, a little uneven. The idea for this font came to me in the middle of the night - hence the name. Insomnia is an all caps font, but upper and lower case differ and glyphs can be freely interchanged. Comes with a diacritics dream team.

Semiramis is based on lettering from the Roycroft movement, but has a Science Fiction/Fantasy feel to it, drawing on elements from antique scripts and the Art Nouveau period to produce a result which is modern and ancient at the same time. There are two different shapes for each character, accessed with the upper and lower case keys.

Meatball is a fat and happy display font based on some lettering on a mid-20th century poster for the movie Bringing Up Baby. The lettering for the names of the stars, AudryHepburn, Cary Grant and Charles Ruggles, was the basis for Meatball. The sample was all caps and as it evolved, a lower case started to appear, etc.

Four letters for this font came from a puzzle in a 1983 Games magazine. After seeing them, I could not resist the temptation to do a complete set of letters made from push pins or tacks, a truly tacky font. Most of the letters on the lower case keys are alternatives--choose the one works best for your purposes.

Norton is a full character set based on the five letters in the famous Norton Motorcycles logo. K-Type has attempted to remain true to the spirit of the original identity, whilst updating the face, particularly the upper case, to sit more comfortably in contemporary usage. A vintage brass stencil used for marking oil drum lids for the Standard Oil Company of Kentucky served as the model for Refinery Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Ardy Mass is a hand drawn and scanned type face available in italic, italic outline, regular & regular outline. Ardy Mass was drawn at a small scale with a fine nibbed black permanent marked pen.

Zirkle is a monoline font in which the upper-case letters were designed from circles or bits of circles, with interior straight lines. It was the first font I designed in Fontographer when Fontographer was still in version 2 and the most advanced Macintosh was the Macintosh II. I have heard from people who like it, but it was designed not to meet some need but to play with the geometry of circle-based letters. ZirkStressed is a “squared” version that was the result of playing with a font distortion program, which in this case produced a result that seemed interesting.

Glitzy is a caps-only font with extreme contrast. It was inspired by Art Deco typefaces, especially Broadway by Morris Fuller Benton, but Glitzy is not an attempt to reproduce that typeface. The letters on the lower-case keys differ slightly from the letters on the upper-case keys. The large black interiors invite decoration and the family includes four faces with interior decoration. These four faces with interior decoration can be used in layers with the base font to add color to lettering. (OakPark is a another attempt to do high-contrast lettering with an Art Deco feel.)
