The logotype lettering of a 1927 issue of Motion Picture magazine provided the inspiration for this playful romp through the alphabet. Named after an expression of the same time whose origin and meaning are shrouded in mystery. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

The idea behind the font called Chaco originated after testing the deficiency shown in road signs in Latin America. The design began after a long documenting period. Throughout the various stages of the work,  there were several  tests and checks  conducted of the formal solutions implemented which, based on the results, would gradually be changed until we finally reached, in this way, its definite design. The original project for the font features three steps, namely: regular, light and bold, yet by making progress in the development, it was possible for us to perceive that by enlarging the black and thin variances, the family with 5 different weights could offer very good results in mass media, such as newspapers, magazines and television. In order to expand its possibilities of utilization, the set was completed with italics and small capitals.

Stretto (Italian for narrow) is a revival, correction and expansive update of an Aldo Novarese reverse-stress font called Sintex, which he did for VGC in 1973. Openly idiosyncratic and playfully rebellious in its design, this alphabet fuses the straights and rounds in an unusual manner, riffing on the idea of hand-made sign and wood type forms while adhering to its odd grid’s parameters. In spite of its counter-stress, its legibility is high and even, helped by its unicase forms and very distinct counters. First released in 2007, it became quite popular with film studios and nostalgia designers (Sintex was the font used for David Bowie’s Hunky Dory album and Life on Mars? single). A dozen years later we revisited it for an update. Stretto now comes with over 660 characters and includes Pan European language support.

Back in 2017, I was working on a cutout font that I originally wanted to call Scissor Madness. In the end, I named it Cut Along and it was quite a popular font for a while. This week I decided to clean up my fonts folder a bit (as I usually have tons of unfinished fonts lurking in there) and I found a file named Scissor Madness. It was the original try-out for Cut Along. It contained a couple of nice glyphs that I never used, so I started playing around with them and after a day, I had a whole new font! So, in short, Scissor Madness was partly cut out by hand, partly computer made, but it is 100% fun to use! Scissor Madness comes with a bunch of very cute discretionary ligatures.

Aduana is the first typographic product of argentine-chilean typographic archeology project called "Valpo. Ciudad de Letras" (Fabio Ares & Karin Thiers, since 2016). Based on the letter located on the front of the Customs building (Valparaíso, Chile). The resultant family can be described as display type and modern renaissance style, with geometric shapes and serif and mild line modulation. The proceeds from the sale of the fonts will be used to finance the project.

Call me some kind of weird, but I find designing fonts about the most fun you can have out of bed. Legible-scmedgible, sometimes you just have follow the font muse regardless of where she takes you. She threw me a circle, a triangle, a rounded stroke and a rounded-cornered square; “Make glyphs,” she sang. Okay! Is it legible? Yes. Is it readable? Kinda. For the right project, though, that’s enough!

Buddies, designed by Guille Vizzari, is a script font that was initially born as a piece of lettering. It is the result of an experiment between brush pen and pencil, and in this way, Buddies takes the imprint of the brush, the freshness of sign painting, and some (or a lot) of quirks by the author. The font at times enjoys dancing in titles and short lines of text, pouring rhythm and movements through its lowercase various x-height sets. Waite Park JNL is based on the smallest of the die-cut letters and numbers contained in the Webway Sign Cabinet - once manufactured by the Holes-Webway Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The largest of the set's sizes (2 inch) was the model for Sign Kit JNL, the medium size (1-1/8 inch) was used to make Sign Production JNL and this font is a version from the 3/4 inch size. Each size of alphabet and numerals have their own unique characteristics, although they all follow the same basic font style, which is reminiscent of classic Art Deco-era sanserif typefaces. The name Waite Park JNL was derived from a division of Holes-Webway that (for some reason lost to time) distributed their sign kits under the name Waite Park Sign Company, located in the Minnesota city of the same name.
