Proudley Presents Morvem font family. Inspired by hi contrast bold retro typeface on early 70's-80's. Sandena began as an attempt at a harmonic convergence between the classic lines of Palatino and the curved flair of Optima - both favorites of mine from the great Hermann Zapf. As I’ve always loved the Swash characters of the 50’s and 60’s letterforms, I incorporated these alternatives to offer the more complete package that you see here - a humanist font in the truest calligraphic sense. Immi 505 is another of Tim Donaldson�s prolific works. Inventive and fun-loving as always, Tim used a pen nib called a ?Brause 505? to create the letterforms for this design. The Brause 505 was an invention of Karlgeorg Hoefer. Hoefer created his typefaces Salto" and Saltino" with this nib. The other part of the name, Immi, is the nickname of Donaldson�s five-year-old daughter Imogen. The resulting unusual curves and open character of Immi 505 create a distinctive rhythm and color appropriate for short blocks of ad copy, titles, music CD covers, and Web page headlines where a bit of extra width is needed."

NorB TypeWriter is my emulation of the IBM Selectric 'Light Italic' ball witch was used by my grand-brother for his correspondance during the 70’s and 80’s. It's however a slanted mono-spaced looking typewriter font. This font was created with inspiration from the wood blocks carved for chapbooks, posters, calendars or newspaper in the late 1500’s and early 1600’s. We have tried to keep their innocence and rough style. It has been conceived as an homage to the “Pilgrim fathers” landing in Plymouth Bay in 1620 and celebrating the first Thanksgiving with Native Indians in autumn, 1621. The font, consisting of two English capital alphabets (so, without any accented characters): Initials and caps, and a lot of separate figures added, is especially improved by strong enlargments, 72 pts and more, and has very good results when printed.

Tomate started in 2006 as a brush lettering exercise for a poster and was later used for the ReType identity. In 2008 its author decided to turn it into a super fat typeface suitable for packaging and mass consumption products. The possibilities of ultra heavy forms are explored in this alphabet; trying to solve the design problems that these sort of forms present. Tomate shows influences from the beautiful Goudy Heavyface Italic which is a design the author admires.

Designed for ParaType in 2003 by Tagir Safayev. The typeface was inspired by some of the Cyrillic letterforms of Sergey Chekhonin (1878-1936). Chekhonin belonged to the World of Art group, which is so closely associated with the flowering of Russian book and theater design at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1995, David Berlow cut Moderno FB for Esquire Gentleman and Reforma from a TrueType pole of Giza. In 1996 he cut new styles with Richard Lipton for El Norte. In 1997, Roger Black ordered new weights for Tages Anzeiger. A redesign of the Baltimore Sun, with Ionic FB as text, required further growth. The whole series was then revised for Louise Vincent, at the Montreal Gazette, with further styles added in 2005 for La Stampa. FB 1994-2008

Mellnik is a sans serif of humanist style (in a way) that was developed by Oleg Karpinsky for ParaType in 2006. The type family contains nine styles with a number of alternate characters in each ones. Five condensed styles were added in 2007 by the same designer.
